As per this Salawat in Quran the Muslims have to say " Allahumma Salle Ala Mohammadin Sallu Alaihi Tasleema",but they say "Allahumma Salle Ala Mohammadin O Ala Aley, O Ala Azwaje O Ala Ashabe Mohammad Sallu Alaihi Tasleema"Somebody may kindly clarify as to who has invented this "Elongation"? QXP:

I do not know who made the additions. It is possible that some Shi'a Imams added "aal" and some Sunni Imams added 'ashaab & azwaaj'. 'aal' or 'ahl' does not necessarily mean progeny. A prophet's 'aal' or 'ahl' is his followers. Great Question. Could Allah not have included the elongation in the Quran?
