Chapter One

1 There are two paths, one of Life and one of Death, paths. The Path of Life is this:

and there is a great difference between the two

COMMENTARY This ancient document contains some of the basic traditions and teachings of the original Essene talmidim (disciples) of Yeshua (Jesus). As such it contains many important things for the basic guidance for the assembly. The intended use of this

education of the new talmid, as well as basic scroll was that it be used to instruct those who were seeking the Holy Initiation of Immersion. Thus it distinguishes at the outset the very important differences between the two ways, or two paths, that people walk in the world. These are the way of life and the way of death. What follows is an explanation of these two opposed lifestyles. Each of the points made throughout the Teaching have various levels of meaning which would be lost to those who do not have the guidance of the

scriptures, a legitimate shaliach (apostle) in a direct line of historic descent from Yeshua, and Ruach

HaKodesh, our Heavenly Imma. One of the most faith is that of the role of the shaliach in the

misunderstood principles of the ancient Essene assembly, and in the lives of the talmidim. First it

must be emphasized that we are all talmidim of traditions and His example in everything.

Yeshua. That is we follow His Teaching, His Otherwise we cannot claim to be talmidim at all.

He is our Master and salvation. In the ancient speak, and act in the exact way His Master would.

Of course this emphasizes the from who to learn and to whom we should submit.

need to be discerning and finding the right person We are most fortunate that we have the literal manifestation of Eloah (God) in the Person of Yeshua HaMoshiach from whom we all learn and humility. And Yeshua has appointed to whom everyone in the Yahad submits to with His empowered emissaries to represent Him and to carry out His mission on earth. The shaliach is the

literal emissary and representative of Yeshua on earth. This role of shaliach still exists in the world today to varying degrees.

The tactile succession of shaliachim, that is the physical laying on of hands, has preserved the lineal descent of this office coming from Yeshua Himself. However, the vast majority of those who possess

this tactile succession are ensnared in the various false teachings and false traditions of Christianity, and lack the fullness of authority that should be the hallmark of the succession of the shaliachim. The tactile succession alone only confers lineage, not spiritual authority. The spiritual authority only entire message of Yeshua. Thus it is that those who

comes through the teaching and faithfulness to the adhere to the Essene faith are the only people today that possesses the fullness of the authority of the succession, since we alone teach the true ancient Essene faith and possess the tactile succession. This present work is the presentation of the basics of that ancient faith, and thus also carries serious spiritual import for us today.

2 First of all, you shall love God that created you; secondly, your neighbor as yourself. And all things that you would not have done to yourself, do not do to another. COMMENTARY Love of Elohim (the fullness of Godhead in three manifestations; Abba YHWH, Ruach HaKodesh Imma, and Yeshua HaMoshiach) is indeed the basis of true spirituality. Mere religion cannot produce love for Elohim or each other. Religion is simply the outer manifestation of what should be an externals, the ritual life of the Yahad. Spirituality however is the inner life of the individual talmid. The Essene develops love of Elohim through internal transformation. Religion deals with the

acceptance of Yeshua as Master and Savior, His Teachings, and the process of devotional surrender to the will of Elohim. This process entails the rejection of living for purely material needs and the pursuit of holiness through living

passions, and a development of a mind inclined to transcendental principles of Yeshua and Torah. Many are under the full influence of the Fallen the

Nature. This Fallen Nature does battle with the original nature of humanity, which is loving service and submission to Elohim. One of the results of this illusory notions of who and what we are. As a result

Fallen Nature is that our minds are polluted with we think ourselves to be independent of Elohim and the supreme authority in our lives. In such a condition we commit acts that violate the other and our environment. Because of this sinful expressed will of Elohim and cause injury to each activity we are inhibited in our ability to develop

love of Elohim. The fact is we were created to serve, and we all indeed serve something and someone. In the temporal sense we serve our employers who provide money by which we purchase material items such as cars, homes, boats and the like. We are in reality serving inanimate

objects of no eternal value as well. One of the effects of the soul is consciousness. The human is distinguished from an animal because the animal cannot investigate matters of spirituality. As human beings, if we are not interested in spirituality, then we actually lower our quality of life to that of an animal. If we are only consumed with the temporal

demands of life, such as food, sleep, sexuality and

defending our objects and territory, we make ourselves as simplistic as animals. One cannot while allowing our lives to be so degraded. Therefore a human is fulfilling his or her created Self; who we are, and how we fit into our universe purpose when we sincerely seek knowledge of the and commune with our Creator. We must engage our minds in the pursuit of Elohim and the Davar (Word) of Elohim. This is true spirituality, and the true the aim of life. The righteous engagement of life is what sets humans apart from animals. sense that humans do. Animals do not think they should not eat dung or procreate commitment because it is a violation of dignity or of Elohim's will. They have no true consciousness of self in relation to spiritual reality. For the animal place in the universe, or of the search for the seriously consider oneself spiritually advanced

Animals have no consciousness of self in the same without

there is no questioning of who and what I am, my Divine. There is no quest for spirituality. All of these questions arise from the human soul alone and it's consciousness. The human consciousness is

unique as well in that it can expand to embrace and love the other. Again we see this ability of the soul at work in our everyday world. We purchase cars,

homes, boats, planes and the like and spend much time maintaining and enjoying them. If our car is hit and damaged we feel remorse and anger. This is a demonstration of attachment and embracing the other. When someone we don't know has their car stolen or damaged we don't feel anywhere near the same. This is because it is not my car. When we expand our consciousness to embrace something or someone it becomes ours. We identify with it and something outside the self is intended to encourage us in our search for Elohim and to love one are attached to it. This propensity for embracing

another. None of the material objects we embrace satisfy the deep inner yearning we all feel. Our soul, having its origin in Ein Sof (the Eternal One) cannot be satisfied with anything other than embracing the Eternal. This is why we see so much Humanity is searching for the Divine, but allowing Eternal so that we instead embrace anxiety and dissatisfaction in our world today. the Fallen Nature to divert our inner desire for the

the

unsatisfactory objects of the temporal world. So it is that the first principle we must understand is that Self Realization, which leads to love of Elohim, is

our primary purpose, as is supported here in this verse. It is only in developing Ahavat Elohim (Love of Elohim) that we can begin to develop love of our fellow human beings. The Fallen Nature also humanity thinks it is love to have extramarital

Instead affairs, to reject marriage in favor of relationships with no sacred commitment, to abuse the gift of sexuality, to go to war and kill each other over temporal things such as oil and land, and other atrocities. Some of these things are even protected rights in some countries. It is always the case that principles, the more we see a rise in illicit sexuality,

the further society moves from transcendental murder, war and hatred. As Essene talmidim we are called by Elohim to be a holy people. This means once our lives have been focused on transcendental that once we have rediscovered our true purpose, principles of Elohim, love begins to grow within us. We are no longer of this world, though we are living in it. We must therefore reject its false

notions of love, as well as its violent ways. This is a

true love because it is based on the sacred principles of Torah and Yeshua's Teaching, the sacred principles upon which the entirety of creation is based. The mind then becomes cleansed of the

illusory images of ourselves in relationship to Elohim and each other and we are then able to really love one another based on the realization that we are all children of the Divine. This means that sisters, just as we would want the best for ourselves. This is holy love.

3 Now the understanding of these words is this: Bless them that curse you, and pray for your enemies and fast for them that persecute you; for what thankfulness is it if you love them that love you? Do not even the Gentiles do the the same? But you have an enemy. COMMENTARY Once the talmid has developed the desire for a life that leads to love of Elohim and his others, the

Essene is then to move to the next stage of spiritual

development; the expansion of love to include those whom, under the illusory force of the Fallen Nature, we would regard as enemies. This love was up to praying for the forgiveness of those who put exemplified by Yeshua on various occasions, even Him to death. The blessing in loving those who

love us is already there in their companionship and care. The higher blessings await those who demonstrate love of their enemies by praying for them and treating them as if they were those who

loved us. In this way we actually embody the love that Abba and Imma have for Their children. That is, we become channels of the love of Elohim in our Elohim's love from a mere point of belief to a very world. This transforms the theological concept of real, present and powerful force in the world. Yeshua acts through His talmidim more often than be like the Messiah-to be Essenes. not. This is a glimpse into what it really means to

Too Human sexuality is a precious gift of Elohim and often we are given to lustful thoughts and desires which violate real love, and do damage to the Essene's ability to advance spiritually. and inhibits the spiritual life. The Fallen Nature

insists we enjoy the temporal pleasures the world has to offer without thought for the spiritual ramifications of such illusory action. And so we think we are enjoying our freedom from Elohim

and experiencing the temporal pleasures of the flesh. We do not live with the awareness that we are not merely this flesh. It should not define us. We are souls inhabiting bodies experiencing the effects of the Fall of Humanity from a higher state. This Fall has corrupted us so that we now are separated from our Heavenly Parents through sinful activities and temporal lusts, we grow old, we get sick, and put off the corruptible at the last day and will

we die. Those who are sincere Essene talmidim will experience life in spiritual bodies that will not suffer the effects of the Fallen Nature. When we surrender to Elohim in loving devotion and begin to experience true freedom in Yeshua, the freedom from all of these worldly attachments, we find that we are no longer thinking from the false self, the ego. In this state of selfless devotion it becomes easy for the Essene to give away the things that formerly held them captive. As I noted earlier, we

are created with the propensity to serve, and

everyone serves somebody or something. Formerly we served HaSatan by way of these attachments and sins which served to destroy us, while now, in a relationship with Elohim through Yeshua, the Eternal. This is what it means to be perfect! 5 To every man that asks of you give, and ask for no return; for Abba desires that from His own gifts there should be given to all. owner of all things. Because of the Fallen Nature

we often think ourselves the source and owners of the blessings of Elohim in our lives. The truth is we stewardship over these gifts, the blessings, which share the blessings of Elohim with those in need we find ourselves guilty of stealing from Abba what is His own! However when we give, we are guiltless. Elohim's storehouse without legitimate need. They are guilty of theft before Elohim. This means that we should be good stewards, giving in wisdom and examining the individual situations carefully. 6 And this is the second commandment of the Teaching. You shall do no murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not corrupt boys, you shall not commit fornication, you shall not steal, you shall not deal in magic, you shall do no sorcery, you shall not murder a child by abortion nor kill neighbor's goods. while we should not refuse to share the blessings, own nothing. COMMENTARY Amongst the basic rules of spiritual living in this verse is mention of double-mindedness and empty words. We cannot think we will develop spiritually or inherit the Kingdom of Elohim if we keep looking back to our previous life and desiring to return to such a state of illusion. Likewise we cannot come to the Essene Yahad and then try to hold onto religious observances and theological opinions that violate our shared emunah. Such

double-mindedness hinders the development of devotion, since we never fully commit to the Way. Also, our words must be followed by action. If I claim to be a disciple my actions must exemplify this. Even if I attend Essene services regularly, study scripture, give tithes, and memorize verses, if I am engaged in sinful activity even secretly, then I am empty. We must live as we speak and as we see Yeshua and the shaliachim live and speak.

is not centered on a marriage covenant with Elohim. The first love we must develop is love of Elohim. If we cannot love our Heavenly Abba and Imma we cannot truly love another. Likewise, how can one love Elohim if he cannot honor and love

his or her earthly parents? These principles are interconnected. If we are not manifesting love and honor of parents, per the Word of Elohim, then how can we claim to love Elohim who gave us that Word? Once we are able to embody these two transcendental principles, then we are challenged include others. This is the mark of a true Essene. 9 My child, flee from every evil and everything that resembles it. Be not angry, for anger leads to murder, nor jealous nor contentious nor wrathful; for of all these things murders are engendered. COMMENTARY The Essene should always avoid any situation, place or people that might reflect poorly on his personal reputation, righteousness, the Yahad, and the Teachings of Yeshua. We must always be careful to by the Teachings of Yeshua to extend our love to

avoid bad association, since it can cause us to fall

down into sinful activity. Likewise it is essential that we seek the fellowship of fellow Essenes. In this way and find encouragement. 10 My child, be not lustful, for lust leads to fornication, neither foul speaking neither with uplifted eyes; for of all these things adulteries are engendered. COMMENTARY All of our miseries are due to the Fallen Nature and the subsequent desires for temporal pleasures. Most sin arises from the desire to satisfy physical desires and lusts of one form or another. The truth is we is in Ein Sof, who is the embodiment of Absolute the devotional instincts of the soul are nourished

Thus it is that we seek to be reunited with our Source, to love and serve the Eternal One in devotional bliss, which is the absolute pleasure of the soul. But these desires are being frustrated due to the Fallen Nature. The Fallen Nature is what Sha'ul (Paul) referred to when

he mentioned the fact that the things he does not want to do, he does. The spirit is at war with the realization of our existence beyond the pleasures of the body, beyond this world. flesh. The first realization we must have is the Theoretical

For example, we might see a beautiful lead to fantasies, which often lead to sinful actions. We use our ears to listen to malicious gossip, hateful speech, etc. We use the tongue to speak lies. 14 You shall not exalt yourself, neither shall you admit boldness into your soul.

COMMENTARY Verses twelve through fourteen touch upon the ideal character of the Essene. Much damage has been done to spiritual lives because of gossip, teachers or other talmidim. Not only is the spiritual

slanders, and undeserved criticism against spiritual life of the one engaging in such sinful behavior in danger, but they endanger the spiritual growth of those around them, new believers in particular. We should all practice humility and an aura of

meekness so that we do not endanger our spiritual progress nor scandalize others. This instruction is

continued in the next verse. 15 Your soul shall not cleave together with the lofty, but with the righteous and humble shall you walk. The accidents that befall you, you shall receive as Elohim. good, knowing that nothing is done without

COMMENTARY Verses fourteen and fifteen both encourage the disciple to avoid exalting the self. Too often disciples seek to become leaders, becoming lustful for the position of shaliachim, overseers, or elders. Sometimes this will cause them to become the spirit it is almost always followed by

arrogant and resentful. Once this sort of envy enters disobedience and rebellion. This is the same sin

HaSatan fell through. It is important that the

talmid remain humble, showing respect to those called by Elohim to the service of leadership in His callings in devotion and joy. It is important that Yahad, learning from them, and executing their spiritual leaders also demonstrate a humility by honoring the talmidim who come to them to learn.

This is a grave responsibility that must be taken

very seriously, for shaliachim will be judged more severely than other talmidim because they are the representatives of Yeshua. Thus it is that no one should seek to be a shaliach without having been called of Elohim, sincerely and diligently seeking the Divine will in prayer and meditation, and considering the gravity of such a calling. It is far better that most remain a simple talmid.

Included in these verses is the admonition to remember that nothing befalls the talmid without the knowledge of Elohim. The primary thought of the true talmid should be to thank our Abba and Imma in all situations, no matter where we are in life. Whether we are in chains for our testimony of the Son, or find ourselves in a lavish palace, we should always have the attitude of thankfulness in every condition. Even in times of difficulty we purification. We do not become righteous by never must understand that this is the process of experiencing difficulty. COMMENTARY This is one of the most important aspects of

spiritual life that has been lost to Christianity. This transcendental principle is very much a product of the eastern origins of the faith. No one can come to a mature knowledge of the teachings of Yeshua seekers in the West have inherited the spiritually without the proper guidance. Many spiritual independent approach of Christianity. They each determine for themselves what scripture means and how to live the faith. As a result there are many different Christian churches and beliefs. Logic tells us they cannot all be right. In the first century the shaliach was honored far

beyond what many with Christian backgrounds would find comfortable. They were treated as if they were the person they represented. They were honored, served and paid obeisances. This verse is of the shaliach. Yeshua gave to His shaliachim and in keeping with the ancient eastern understanding their successors the authority to forgive sins in His Name, to continue to initiate by Immersion, to teach the talmidim, and to lead His Yahad. The history of our faith demonstrates this principle. Men like Polycarp, Clement, and Ignatius were all successors of this authority. They were like links in a chain, linking each shaliach back to Yeshua in an unbroken line. In fact, we also note that Polycarp talmid of Kefa, thus establishing the principle of was a talmid of Yochanan, and Clement was a accepting the authority of a shaliach in our spiritual lives, and becoming talmidim of the talmidim of Yeshua, as well as Yeshua Himself.

association of the Holy Ones, that you may find rest

COMMENTARY Again we are given the admonition to seek out the fellowship of the righteous ones. Each of us seeks peace and rest from the sins of the fallen world. Unfortunately most are not living a relationship with Yeshua, but continue to serve the Fallen Nature rather than Elohim. The results of such

rebellion are that we never find the peace and love we seek. The pleasures of this fallen world are temporary and cannot satisfy our souls. Since the soul has its source in the Eternal One, it seeks the

sort of love and peace that only the Eternal One can provide. When we reject the continual struggle to pleasures of the fallen world we realize that we need who are striving to follow Yeshua. In this way we satisfy the desires of the soul through the temporary the fellowship and association of other talmidim encourage each other in the development of our devotional lives and draw ever closer to the source of true pleasure and love.

18 You shall not make a schism, but you shall seek

peace with them that contend; you shall judge righteously, you shall not make a difference in a

person to reprove him for transgressions. COMMENTARY

There are those who enjoy controversy and gossip. From such scandalous behavior comes schisms and divisions. We see this very well in the history of Christianity. It is divided into a multitude of sects, denominations and cults. This is due partly to the lack of adherence to the original Eastern Essene understanding of the faith, as well as to a spirit of to determine truth for himself. This is wrong. independence that permits each individual the right Elohim determines truth. There can be only one

Truth therefore. Individuals who think they know better than our Master should at first be reasoned with in an attempt to bring their minds back to peace with Elohim and the Divine Davar. It matters

not who the person is or what position they hold in the Yahad. If they are in violation of Torah and the Teachings of Yeshua, or doubting the Essene traditions, they must be reproved by their fellow talmidim. We share the responsibility to safeguard the faith with our brothers and sisters, which demands we be accountable to each other.

19 You shalt not doubt whether a thing shall be or not be. COMMENTARY The Sacred Scriptures are the Divine Word of

Elohim to humanity. They are perfect and without error. We cannot claim to understand everything they contain, since their source is the All Knowing One, and the human mind cannot truly conceive of

the fullness of the knowledge and wisdom of Elohim. Our understanding is finite and therefore Scripture teaches our words are perfect. However revelation of Ein Sof. In this way we are saying we intellectual capability. This is a blasphemy. 20 Do not be found holding out your hands to receive, but drawing them in as to giving. To the extent that we speak what Sacred when we doubt prophecy, we are doubting the very know better than Elohim with our finite senses and

21 You shall not turn away from him that is in need, but shall share with your brother all things, and shall not say that anything is your own. For if you so in the things which are temporal? COMMENTARY We are all partakers in the Kingdom of Elohim and its blessings. Thus if we are each sharing in the spiritual riches of eternity, why would we seek to be greedy with regard to things temporal and corruptible? The more important of the two is of course the eternal. It is the responsibility of the perspective against the eternal and to freely share the blessings of Elohim.

COMMENTARY Beyond the surface meaning regarding disciplining children, there is a deeper significance here. The hand can be used to correct, direct, and comfort. Each of these has much to do with discipline. It is principles toward forming the character of children

essential that our discipline be directed by spiritual in our charge. They should be taught from an early age that they are not the product of a cold, uncaring universe and an accidental combination of chemicals as some evolutionists would have us believe. It is essential that they live by the transcendental precepts of Torah and the

23 You shall not command your servant or your handmaid in your bitterness, who trust in the same Elohim as yourself, lest as a result they should cease

to respect Elohim who is over both of you; for Yeshua comes not to call anyone with respect of persons, but He comes to those whom Ruach HaKodesh has prepared. 24 But you, servants, shall be subject unto your masters, as a symbol of Elohim, in shame and fear. COMMENTARY Again we find this principle of submission to those given authority over us by Elohim. Though the basic level of understanding was directed at servants, it holds a deeper significance for us today. When we receive the instructions and guidance of do so in humility and respect. We should not allow those faithful shaliachim in the Yahad, we should pride to poison our devotion or to corrupt our

discipline. As was noted earlier, shaliachim are

afforded the honor of our Master because they are His emissaries to the Yahad. And since Yeshua is Eloah (God), this is the proper understanding of this verse. 25 You shall hate all hypocrisy, and everything that is not pleasing to Elohim. 26 You shall never forsake the Way of Elohim; but shall keep those thing which you have received, neither adding to them nor taking away from them. COMMENTARY As noted earlier all of the admonitions of the principles and standards of Torah

Teaching are introductions to living by the sacred Teachings of Yeshua. Christians have indeed forsaken the Way of Elohim as handed down by the shaliachim and their successors. However talmidim who are sincere in their desire to know and love Elohim will understand the importance of adhering to the ancient faith and will take to its observance and the

27 In the Yahad you shall confess your transgressions, and shall not engage in prayer with an evil conscience. This is the Path of Life.

COMMENTARY Yeshua left His shaliachim the authority to forgive

sin in His Name. This is a very special blessing afforded us by our Master. Thus we should avail ourselves of this spiritual blessing whenever we have committed sinful acts. We need not go into great detail of the sin, but have only to go to the shaliach and confess that we have violated the then, in mercy remembering his principles of Yeshua's Teachings. The shaliach will shortcomings, declare in the Name of Yeshua the own

forgiveness of our sins. At times we may want to discuss certain issues of sinful activity with the shaliach if we need intense intercessory prayer. This

is necessary, otherwise we could not approach Elohim in purity. We could not pray effectively with sin (the evil conscience) on our hearts, nor take

part in worship. Our calling, the very devotional service we render to Elohim, would be defiled. Confessing our transgressions cleanses the heart and allows us to approach Elohim with a righteous conscience and in purity.

COMMENTARY Here we are given a list of some of the things that are spiritually dangerous for the talmid and serve to destroy the soul when we engage in them. This is by no means an exhaustive list of sinful activities, material consciousness actually cover every sin one variations on these particular sins listed. 2 See lest any man lead you astray from this path of righteousness, for he teaches you apart from Elohim . but these select activities done in the mode of could possibly engage in, since all other sins are but

COMMENTARY There are many who would lead us astray. More will tempt us to return to our old lives, and to leave

often than not this occurs in two ways. First, they behind the pursuit of spiritual consciousness and eternal life. The second way we are tempted to leave behind the true spiritual path of Yeshua is by persuasion to leave behind the ancient Essene faith

and return to any of the Christian churches and sects. No one who comes to the knowledge of the

true spiritual path and then looks back to his old life and returns to his old sinful activity will inherit the Kingdom. This is the double-mindedness we spoke

of earlier. When we are tempted in this way we must focus our intention even more on the pursuit of Elohim and consider the temptation to be the mercy of Elohim, the overcoming of which we find ourselves purified and made righteous because we have persevered faithfully. This does not mean that certainly can. Once the seed of devotional life has

if we make mistakes we can never return. We been planted in the life of the talmid, if they have yet a small part of that faith still living in them, they will absolutely return to the Yahad. This too is the mercy of Elohim. 3 For if you are able to bear the whole yoke of Elohim, You shall be perfect; but if you are not able, do that which you are able.

COMMENTARY There will come to the Yahad those who will sincerely struggle to live by the divine principles of Torah and Teachings of Yeshua, but will not be

able to do so easily. The instructions given in the

Teaching provide these individuals with the minimum requirements which they must observe. These things they should be capable of maintaining without struggle. This allows for a gradual introduction and for a gradual transformation of consciousness toward the deeper things of Elohim. This is the process of discipleship and is yet another mercy of Elohim. 4 But concerning eating, bear that which you are able; yet abstain by all means from meat sacrificed to idols; for it is the worship of false deities.

COMMENTARY This verse refers back to the Jerusalem Council found in the Book of Acts, presided over by Ya'akov, the brother of Yeshua and first Nasi of the

Essene Netzari faith after its complete fulfillment by Yeshua. In this council were given some basic requirements for the new talmidim. Included were instructions regarding foods that are clean and unclean. This verse merely reinforces the admonition spoken of in scripture.

are always considered to be appropriate for a immersion, as long as they are not filled with trash or waste run off. It is also instructive to look at the required matter for the ritual. Water is the essential

matter involved. Why water? Water is cleansing, purifying, and the fundamental element without which no life could exist on our planet. Indeed, the human body is comprised mainly of water. When

we are in the womb the embryonic fluid is mainly water. Thus it is fitting that water be the essential element in the immersion ritual. Just as we must have water to survive, just as water is a very part of

our physical existence, and just as water was a part

of our physical birth, so the waters of the mikveh are symbolic of each of these things. Three times in the day pray this way. COMMENTARY In keeping with this verse all members of the Yahad are to recite this prayer upon rising in the morning, in the afternoon and at night before retiring according to ancient Essene custom. We face the Holy City, Jerusalem. There are various appropriate postures from which to offer prayer, before Elohim. These are taught to new talmidim. 11 But as touching the Pesach thanksgiving, give thanks thus: First, as regards the cup: We give You thanks Abba, for the holy vine of Your son David, which You made known unto us through Your Son temptation, but deliver us from the evil one; for

Yeshua; Yours is the glory for ever and ever. COMMENTARY Pesach is one of the most important of the Moedim (holy days) which YHWH has commanded us to observe. For the Yahad Pesach holds the traditional sacrifice of Yeshua upon the cross for the sins of humanity. As such it is a most sacred ritual and is meaning, as well as being the memorial of the

Along with personal prayers we include this and the following prayers in our Pesach meal. 12 Then as regards the broken bread: We give You thanks Abba, for the life and knowledge which You made known unto us through Your Son Yeshua; Yours is the glory for ever and ever. 13 But let no one eat or drink of this Pesach thanksgiving, but they that have been immersed into the name of the Master; for concerning this also the Master has said: Give not that which is holy to the dogs.

COMMENTARY Again, this reinforces the sacred nature of the Pesach meal. We are commanded not to allow anyone who has not been immersed to partake. Those who have not yet been immersed are usually led out of the place where the meal is observed keeping with ancient practice. 14 And after ye are fulfilled, thus give thanks: We give You thanks, Holy Abba, for Your holy name, which You have made to dwell in our hearts, and which You have made known unto us through for the knowledge and faith and immortality, Your Son Yeshua; Yours is the glory for ever and ever. You, Almighty YHWH, did create all things for Your name's sake, and did give food and drink

unto men for enjoyment, that they might render thanks to You; but did bestow upon us spiritual food and drink and eternal life through Your Son. Before all things we give You thanks that You are powerful; Yours is the glory for ever and ever. Remember, God, Your Yahad to deliver it from all evil and to perfect it in Your love; and gather it together from the four winds--even the Yahad which has been sanctified--into Your kingdom which You have prepared for it; for Yours is the power and the glory for ever and ever. May grace come and may this world pass away. Hosanna to the Elohim of David. If any man is holy, let him come; if any man is not, let him repent. MaranAtha. Amen. But permit the prophets to offer thanksgiving as much as they desire.

COMMENTARY The prophets spoken of here signifies those who are

the leaders of the Yahad. That is, the shaliachim through whom Yeshua continues to teach and guide. Prophets do not necessarily speak of future events, as in predictions. Most often prophets now. They admonished, judged, and corrected in

COMMENTARY Again we see the principle of submission to the legitimate emissary of Yeshua. It is once more emphasized that the shaliach is judged by, among other things, what he teaches. If he is teaching the true faith of Yeshua without compromise, he is to be received and honored as if he were Yeshua Himself. The widespread rejection of this

injunction is a sad indictment on the greater Christian and Hebraic Roots communities. The notion of private interpretation is a mistaken one

If we have spiritual we must go to those who have experienced the Way of Yeshua, understand the teachings and practice, and who can guide others by virtue of their own success and knowledge, as well as their historic lineage going back to Yeshua Himself through the rite of laying on of hands for this divine succession. 16 But concerning shaliachim and prophets, so do ye according to the law of the Teachings of Yeshua. If an assembly provides him with to give to help meet his travel expenses this is fine, but the shaliach should never ask for monetary compensation and any surplus must be given to the Yahad. If he does anything contrary to this he is a false prophet and will be disciplined. 17 And any prophet speaking in Ruach ye shall not try to dispute with; for every sin shall be forgiven, but this sin shall not be forgiven. Yet not every one that speaks in Ruach is a prophet, but only if he have the

This refers to the spiritual life. We must all be careful not to waste the time we have in this world to develop a relationship with Yeshua, a consciousness of Elohim in everyday life, and love of Elohim. None of us knows how many years we

have in this world. Some may live to be one

hundred, others may never make it past twenty years old. Thus it is important that we understand the value of our temporal life in so far as that time is used to pursue spiritual life, and thus the Eternal.

Once we have an understanding of the need for a relationship with Ein Sof (the Eternal One) we must be watchful not to lose that realization. And once we have the realization of the need for spiritual life, we must then proceed to be sure our lamp does not burn out. This means we should be certain to
