Blueberries
Blueberries are a strange fruit. Im not sure why I find them so strange, but there is just something about them that I mysteriously enjoy. When you think of berries in general, they are not a sweet fruit. Raspberries and blackberries are very strong in flavor, and strawberries go great with peanut butter or sour cream and brown sugar, but blueberries have this flavor that only comes out when its used in other methods of cooking. The history of the blueberry is a little fuzzy. It only makes sense because of the nature of fruit being long-lived. The English blueberry that we see and eat in North America actually originated in North America. There are other forms of blueberries that come from other continents, with twenty species total. The commercial blueberry you see in stores grows in Eastern and North/ Central North America while most other species of blueberries are considered wild and grow all over the world.

A Crazy Idea
Film folks will do anything to sell seats.
Weve all seen gimmicks as advertisements before. Offer the customer something new and unique which sometimes means bizarre and hope that it draws them towards your product. Whether its a talking donkey on a commercial or the promise of a free shoeshine in the store, there are lots of new, inventive ways to try to sell products. In movies, this is often combined with the excitement of new technology or a new audience to create bizarre features in films that you never expected to see or hear, touch, smell or taste. Here are a few of the more bizarre moments in film history. Smell-o-Vision Thats right, its exactly what it sounds like. When sound first came on the scene (pun intended), a few producers thought that adding in all the senses to movies would add to the experience and the ticket sales. They synchronized the release of pre-made scents with parts of the films soundtracks. Unfortunately the noise of the smells pumping, as well as the horrible combination of odors that stayed in the theater, quickly put Smell-o-Vision in the grave. In a few instances, including a recent showing at a Japanese university and a do-ityourself scratch-and-sniff rip-off called Odorama, some people have tried to resurrect it, but so far they have been unsuccessful. Percepto! For his 1959 horror film The Tingler, director William Castle chose a few random audience seats to receive electrical shocks throughout the movie to cause panic. He also stationed fake nurses, gurneys, and staged fainters to be rushed away mid-showing. It certainly increased the horror of the film, but in the end the cost of the fright was too frightening to continue the gimmick. Signoscope The National Theater of the Deaf teamed up with Hollywood for this comedy film, the only one ever to be produced in sign language with a dubbed audio track for the hearing. Consider it open captioning. Hypnotism Werner Herzog claims to have hypnotized the entire cast of his movie Heart of Glass. Even more than that, he designed the opening of his film to hypnotize the audience, throwing them into a trance that would lead into the story of the movie. Youll have to watch and see if it works for yourself. Sensurround Sensurround is an audio technology designed to provide serious low-range bass for soundtracks. The technology was originally intended for the 1974 movie Earthquake, although it was used on a few others. Although popular, it was, unfortunately, too expensive and too dangerously realistic. The sound was so powerful that the Manns Chinese Theater lost chunks of ceiling plaster while showing Earthquake.
What do Ashley Tisdale, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Snoop Dogg and Mike Tyson have in common? Roles in this movie. The latest installment of the Scary Movie films is a usual romp through comedic horror through the lives of a young couple that discover a demon stalking them and their newborn son. Iron Man 3 May 2(9:00 pm)
Robert Downey Jr. is back as Tony Stark, the millionaire superhero who acts out on his own power and wallet against the forces of injustice. Revenge is the theme of this third installment, as Stark chases down the enemy responsible for tearing his world apartand is forced to confront himself as he does so.
