Hold upI Belong to Jesus!

Then said David to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the ranks of Israel, Whom you have defied!.........And all this assembly shall know that the Lords saves not with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lords and He will give you into our hands! 1 Samuel 17: 45 & 47

Three questions: Who are you? Whose are you? Who do you represent? Most of us have heard the story of David and Goliath. David, a young boy who kept his fathers sheep and Goliath a giant who had been a warrior from his youth, were going to go head to head in battle. Despite the odds that were against David; David knew who he was, whose he was and who he represented. David knew that he was a child of God and that he belonged to God! He also knew that he represented the Kingdom and being certain of this fact, David with Godly confidence and boldness prepared to defeat Goliath! Goliath was a giant in stature, but David was a giant in faith. David knew that the worlds equipment could never compare to the armor of God! This knowledge afforded David the victory over Goliath! What is the goliath in your life? Today, I challenge you to be bold like David and tell that giant who you are, whose you are, and who you represent! Command him to back off.SPEAK the Word only! Remember, your circumstances are not greater than the Greater One inside, of Whom you represent! As God asked Sarah in Genesis I will ask you, Is anything too hard for God? The answer is NO! So there..YOU HAVE ALREADY CONQUERED the giants in your life! Be encouraged! 1

Dear Sis.,
"Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD!" Proverbs 18:22

"I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he pleases." Song of Solomon 2:7

Alright, this post is for all of my dear sisters in Christ! When I left home on August 15, 2009 to attend college, I made the decision to wait to be found by the man that God has for me. That decision has not always been easy.....but I can say that giving God the pen to write my love story has been worth it. Because my "Boaz" has not found me yet, there are times when I'm like "God, is he out there?" lol Or, I'm like, "God, I trust you....but I need for my "Boaz" to find me NOW!" lol! But every time these thoughts/questions arise.....God will always encourage me to wait on His best and to focus on Him and Him alone! It's amazing how regardless of the situation, my perspective on life changes so much when I'm in His presence! This past summer, I was away from home and found myself on many Friday nights either watching movies or spending time with God. One Friday night, I started to study the book of Ruth and it was at that time that I decided to not be soooo focused on when "he" will come, how "it" will happen or who "he" will be.....but instead I asked God....."What should I be doing until my Boaz comes?"

By reading the book of Ruth, God has revealed so much to me and now I feel led to share it all with YOU. In Ruth 1:14-22, we are introduced to Naomi, whose husband Elimelech and two sons, Mahlon and Chilion have died. Naomi is left with her two daughters in law Ruth and Orpah. Naomi wanted to leave Moab and return to Judah and she wanted Orpah and Ruth to return to "their people and their gods," so that they would at least have a chance of getting married again. Verse 14-16 says, "And they lifted up their voice and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her. And she said behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people and unto her gods; return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for

wither thou goest, I will go: and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people and thy God my God!" So as we can see Orpah chose to go back to "her people and her god," but Ruth chose to stick with Naomi.....a decision that would change her whole life! "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." Galatians 1:10 NIV "It's better to have God approve than the world applaud!" "He did not try to make Himself seem beautiful to the world." Mandy

Mirror, Mirror
How many times have you allowed this world to be your mirror and not Christ and His Word? How many times have you believed the lies of Satan instead of God's truth concerning who you are, your purpose, your value, etc.? How many times have you compared yourself to another person and felt inadequate or insignificant? It can come in many forms.maybe you have a ministry that you know God told you to start, but you don't have as many "followers" as sister so in so, or maybe people don't seem to "notice" you like they notice "Lara." Friend, this morning during my quiet time with the Lord, I rolled across a young lady named Mandy's blog. She asked God one day," God, how am I supposed to be like Jesus right now.right here?" God answered her in a way that resonated in my spirit. Since my 22nd birthday (3/23) God has been heavy on my heart to write about insecurity and not only knowing who I am in in Christ, but being sure of it..walking in it all day, every day. God said to Mandy, "He did not try to make Himself seem beautiful to the world." Whoa. I paused and thought about myself and how in many ways at times I have used this world as my mirror instead of Christ. At that time I was reminded of Galatians 1:10 NIV which says, "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."

Friend, we must stop determining our worth and value by what people say or don't say. We must be determined by what the Word of God says about us. We must stop being so stressed out by everyone else's reaction to us..whether they like us, see us, love us, accept us, approve of us, want to be around us or be our friend, sew into our vision, or our ministry, support us.etc. Jesus did not try to fit in, He did not try to make everyone like Him or be His friend, He did not try to appeal to this world just because of the fear that they wouldn't accept Him or the message that He was given to share..He did not try to make Himself seem beautiful to the world. He was about His Father's business. He allowed God to be his foundation. He allowed God to shine through Him. When He looked in the mirror He did not compare Himself to others, or rate Himself based on the scale that this world has created. You may be be saying, "Well, that was easy for Him.He is Jesus.there is no comparison." Friend, if you are in Christ, you have the same identity, the same power, and the same inheritance as He does. You are an original. "Da Vinci painted one Mona Lisa, Beethoven composed one Fifth Symphony. And God made one version of YOU! YOU exist to exhibit God, to display His glory! YOU serve as canvases for His brushstroke, papers for His pen, soil for His seeds, and glimpses of His image!" Know this: there is no one else on the earth that can do what God has called YOU to do. "You weren't an accident. You weren't mass-produced. You aren't an assembly line product. You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly position on the earth by the Master Craftsman...JESUS!" Continue Reading at www.newsyoucanusersj.weebly.com

Sitting in church Sunday, my pastor said, "The call of God on your life will always require a time of preparation!" (Pastor Creflo Dollar) When Pastor Dollar said this I knew God was speaking directly to me. Many times God will reveal something to me about my future and I will get soooo excited and then when it didn't happen at the time I thought it would or how I thought it would happen; I start to get extremely impatient.

A Time of Preparation
"And then God answered: "Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This visionmessage is a witness pointing to what's coming. It aches for the comingit can hardly wait! And it doesn't lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It's on its way. It will come right on time." Habakkuk 2:2-3 MSG "Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary." Isaiah 40:31

I start to say things like, "Lord, what is all of this?" "Lord, I thought you said" "Lord, why is it taking so long?" Have you ever found yourself saying these things? Maybe.....maybe not. "Wait".........many of us struggle with this word, it just isn't among our favorites. Then as if the words of Pastor Dollar wasn't enough, I heard William McDowell singing on my way to school a song called "Wait." "Wait.....with expectation. Wait....with anticipation. Wait....I will worship You, Lord, while I wait." Then, if this song wasn't enough........God used a movie, yes a movie to speak to me. Now here is a disclaimer.I love movies, but "The Karate Kid"......I did not think that there would be a lesson in that one. Loll Continue Reading at www.newsyoucanusersj.weebly
