LA BUSQUEDA PARA LA INSPIRACION

(THE SEARCH FOR INSPIRATION)

EXT. MYRTLE BEACH. DAY.

Camera slowly zooms in on a message written in beach sand. It reads, “la

búsqueda para la inspiración” (the search for inspiration). Light Spanish guitar
music plays in the background.

EXT. 2. MYRTLE BEACH. DAY.

Camera shows close up shot of a woman’s feet and lower legs walking through the
same thick beachsand. Her upper body is not visible. Footprints trail her. Nothing is
heard other than light Spanish guitar music in the background and the light rush of
the ocean waves.

As woman continues walking, she notices a bottle at the edge of the water and
reaches for it. The camera pans down to her face and hands as she approaches the
bottle.

As the guitar music intensifies, the woman lifts the bottle, slowly opens the top, and
pulls out an old, faded hand-written message. Camera zooms in to show what it
says: “¿Cómo vas a hacer para tu video para Visual Communication?” (What are
you going to do for your video for Visual Communication”). A textual overlay with
the same message appears at the bottom of the film with a dissolving effect,
creating an added element of suspense.

“No sé,” (I don’t know) says the woman softly, with a concerned expression on her
face. “No sé…” (I don’t know) she repeats, more softly this time. “Es demasido
díficil decidir…” (It’s too difficult to decide). A similar textual overlay with her
response appears at the bottom of the film, echoing the previous one. Guitar music
continues once again, lighter this time.

EXT 3. MYRTLE BEACH. DAY.

The woman, once again, continues walking along the beach for a few seconds. In
the distance, she notices a bright red object and walks closer to investigate.
Camera pans to the object on the sand and reveals its true nature: a red flamenco
fan, surrounded by a myriad of colorful flamenco trinkets: a high heel, a red flower,
a torn piece of colorful fabric, and miscellaneous jewelry.

Camera pans back to woman’s face, which now reveals surprise. “¿Y que son
estos?” (And what are these?) sheasks. “¿Son de España? ¿Para flamenco quizá?”
(Are they from Spain? Used for flamenco perhaps?)

“Yo sabía que flamenco era una actividad muy global, pero no tendría ningún idea
que podría esparcir por el océano y tan rápidamente” (I knew that flamenco was a
very global activity, but I had no idea that it could spread through the ocean and so
fast).

Yet another textual overlay appears that says, “Sí, son de España. Están aquí para
inspirarte…” (Yes, they are from Spain. They’re here to inspire you).

EXT. 4. MYRTLE BEACH. DAY.

Close-up shot of woman’s face. She appears relieved, content, as if a huge weight
has been lifted off her shoulders. Now she knows what to do….

EXT 5. MYRTLE BEACH. DAY.

Camera zooms in on another message written in beach sand that reads, “Ella
encuentró su inspiración…” (She found her inspiration). Same guitar music that
began the film now fades out.

Plot summary: Woman walks along beach trying to find inspiration for a film idea.
As she meanders, flamenco memorabilia wash up on the shore, presumably from
Spain. She has found her inspiration.
