Introduction
This report is based on an organizational study at YUM Restaurants India Pvt. Ltd. A brief idea about the fast food industry in the Indian and global perspective was obtained. This study is a part of my curriculum. An idea about the organizational structure of YUM Restaurants India Pvt. Ltd. has been obtained from this study. The fast food industry encompasses a broad range of organizations that deal with the fast food restaurants. There are various departments for the smooth functioning of the company and the country head is in charge and followed by regional, branch, department and divisional heads. The fast food industry is a rapidly growing one in India. YUM Restaurants was established in 2002 (by renaming Tricon company), which owns KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell. YUM Restaurants India became a separately reported division in 2012, underscoring the potential scale of India as a key emerging market.

It is a Private Limited Company headquartered in United States. The Indian Head Office is at New Delhi, and the study was conducted in Tamil Nadu Division. Presently, the company has 495 restaurants in India which include, 228 KFCs, 264 Pizza Huts, and 3 Taco Bell restaurants.

Objective of the Study


1. To learn about the various aspects of the industry 2. To understand the basic functioning of YUM Restaurants India Pvt. Ltd. 3. To identify various practices and process followed by the company 4. To identify the functional areas in the organization and get an insight to various practices, policies & procedures. 5. To analyze the strength, weakness opportunities and threats for the organization.

Scope of the Study


The study attempts to understand the performance of different departments. To obtain information regarding strength, weakness, opportunities and threats of various departments.

Methodology
The study was undertaken by visiting the YUM Restaurants India Pvt. Ltd. for a period of 4 weeks. Both primary and secondary data are used. Primary data were collected by conducting personal interviews with the departmental heads and secondary data were collected from the organization manuals and websites. Limitations of the Study


The study suffers from the limitations of time and resources. The whole data for the purpose of the study has to be collected within allocated time. As a student, resources at command were limited. Further much of the data required for the purpose of study were drawn from secondary sources, so the project cannot be free from the defects of secondary data. The confidentiality of the financial information and the entry restrictions to certain departments were also the limitations of this study.

Overview of the Organization Over 39000 restaurants across 125 countries make YUM Restaurants, one among the largest restaurant chains in the world. The brands KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell makes YUM, an undisputed leader in this segment. Background and History YUM Restaurants India has 495 restaurants in India, which includes, 228 KFCs, 264 Pizza Huts and 3 Taco Bell Restaurants. KFC KFC is the world's most popular chicken restaurant chain, specializing in Original Recipe, Extra Crispy, Colonel's Crispy Strips and Honey BBQ Wings, with home-style sides and freshly made chicken sandwiches. Since its founding by Colonel Harland Sanders in 1952, KFC has been serving customers delicious, already prepared complete family meals at affordable prices. Pizza Hut Pizza Hut is the world's largest pizza restaurant, specializing in the following pizzas: Pan Pizza, Thin 'N Crispy Pizza, Hand-Tossed Style Pizza and Stuffed Crust Pizza. The chain was founded by brothers Dan and Frank Carney in 1958. Taco Bell Taco Bell is a Mexican-style fast-food chain serving tacos, burritos, signature quesadillas, Border Bowls, nachos and other specialty items. The chain was founded by Glen Bell in 1962. Yum Restaurants India implements practices and procedures to maintain a high level of service including Customer Mania Training and CHAMPS (which measures operational basics like Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product Quality and Speed). In 2011, Yum reported $12.6 billion in revenues, an 11% increase, and net income of $1.31 billion. The company's top markets are USA, China, Japan, Great Britain, Canada, and India.

OBSERVATIONS The study conducted analyzed the functioning of the organization as a whole. The findings of the study reveal the following. 1. The company has a large customer base 2. The company has a good scope to expand further 3. The company has all the necessary infrastructural facilities and caliber to become an undisputed leader in the segment of operations 4. The companys technological needs are met by an efficient IT division 5. The HR department takes necessary measures for the development of its employees 6. Excellent training is provided to the new recruits by the Training department. SUGGESTIONS The company has the caliber to develop itself as an undisputed leader in its segment of operations. The company can achieve this by 1. By developing new marketing strategies 2. Taking ample measures in bridging the gap between the planned policies and procedures and the actual practice. 3. Exploring new avenues of products and Services 4. Concentrating on its core Business activities 5. Establishing strong relationships with the customers 6. To identify and implement the best business practices and procedures in line with the regulatory / legal requirements and industrial standards.

CONCLUSION The company, YUM Restaurants India Pvt. Ltd. is one of the major players in the fast food industry in India, and a dominant player in the Tamil Nadu Circle. It has various products and services to offer to its customers, through restaurants like KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. Company must also look into improving its networking activities. Have a more focus in the direction of the growth. The company can increase its sales by opening more restaurants in the circle.
