The Lung Cancer

The honorable lecturer of STIKes Wiramedika and all my friends in class A4D. Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Thanks for opportunity that was given to me. Before I begin to give a speech, I would like to invite you to thank to God, Who has given us Mercy and Blessing, so we can meet together in this blessing place. In the opportunity, It be a great honour for me to stand right here in front of you all to give a speech about "The Lung Cancer". Ladies and gentlemen, As we know well that lung cancer causes the most cancer-related deaths in the world each year. However, this deadly cancer is preventable in many cases, because 90 percent of lung cancer deaths are related to smoking. Lung cancer forms in the lung tissue, particularly within the cells that line the air passages. The majority of all lung cancer cases are caused by smoking. The carcinogens in cigarette smoke cause damage to lung tissue. If a person smokes for a prolonged period of time, the damage can cause the cells in the lung tissue to act abnormally, which can develop into cancer over time. Small cell lung cancer is most often seen in heavy smokers. The risk factors for lung cancer include smoking, being a female, being exposed to second-hand smoke, a family history of cancer (especially lung cancer), excessive use of alcohol and having been exposed to asbestos, radon gas or other chemicals. Ladies and gentlemen In many cases, the symptoms of lung cancer do not occur during the early stages. Most patients do not experience the symptoms of lung cancer until the cancer is in an

advanced stage. The symptoms of lung cancer include persistent cough, hoarseness, wheezing, coughing up blood, chest pain and shortness of breath. Ladies and gentlemen dont be afraid. There may be several ways to reduce your risk of developing lung cancer. First, Dont Smoke. Tobacco use is the major cause of lung cancer in the United States.1 2 About 90% of lung cancer deaths in men and almost 80% of lung cancer deaths in women in this country are due to smoking. The most important thing a person can do to prevent lung cancer is to not start smoking, or to quit if he or she currently smokes Second, Avoid Secondhand Smoke and make your home and car smoke-free. Third, Make Your Home and Workplace Safer. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that all homes be tested for radon. Radon detectors can be purchased or arrangements can be made for qualified testers to come into the home. Some states offer free or low-cost radon test kits. And the last, eat a Healthy Diet and always exercise your body. Scientists are studying many different foods and dietary supplements to see if they can prevent lung cancer. Ladies and gentlemen Not much that I can say today, just a few of words above that I can deliver to you at this moment, thank a lot for your attention and I also ask forgiveness for my mistakes. May from this speech will re-open our perspective to Lung Cancer. And may from this information will re-aware you to step away from smoking and lung cancer. And the last sentence, Keep your lungs for you future. Thank you.
