Big 6 Information Literacy Model and Big 6 Kids

http://www.big6.com/ and http://www.big6.com/kids/
The Big6 is an information literacy model. Some people call it a metacognitive scaffold, or an information
problem solving strategy. Developed by Mike Eisenberg and Bob Berkowitz, the Big6 is the most widely-
known and widely-used approach to teaching information and technology skills in the world. When you
apply the Big6 steps, you have an essential framework to approach any information-based question

The Big 6 Kids provides lesson plans and ideas for incorporating the Big 6 model in the classroom. In the
http://www.big6.com/kids/, ideas and lessons are broken down into K-2, 3-6 and 7-12. Each segment
also has its own individual learning model for students to work on their own solving their information
need.
