Hijab (covering body and face ) in Hinduism and Christianity, in the light of sacred scriptures.

Often the concept of Hijab is misrepresented and misunderstood by a large number of people. It is believed that the commandment of Hijab is found only in the Islamic Scriptures. But, if we flip the pages of the sacred books of major religions, we find the commandment of Hijab is found there too. Fortunately this commandment is yet alive in Muslims and unfortunately the commandment of other scriptures is not known to the general public. Due to the lack of knowledge and self ego, many supported Hijab ban failing to realize that they are supporting the cause which is against Mother Mary, Mata Sita and various others. They give respect to these ladies but unfortunately when it comes to accepting their way their foot start shivering, ego comes in between, and hate overtakes. To remove the misunderstanding about the concept of Hijab, I will be giving few verses from various scriptures which will testify that hijab does not degrade women but uplift. It is the sign of modesty.

HIJAB IN HINDUISM Rig Veda Book no. 8 Hymn no. 33 V. no. 19: When Brahma has made you a woman, you should lower your gaze and should not look up. You should put your feet together and you should not reveal what the garment and the veil conceals. Rig Veda Book no. 10 Hymn no. 85 V. no.30: Unlovely is the person is the husband who covers his thighs with the garment of his wife.
So the Rig Veda says that wearing the clothes of the opposite sex (cross dressing) is prohibited.

Mahavir Charitra Act 2 Page 71: When Purshuram comes, Rama tells his wife Sita that He is our elder, please lower your gaze, and put on the veil. If you read historical books, the books talking about the Coin Age, the Age of the Gupta and the post Gupta age, there are coins , on which there are pictures of the Indian woman wearing the veils and the veil are going up to their shoulders, some go up to the

arms. There are many Indian women in the villages who wear the veils; some of the women even cover their faces. HIJAB IN CHRISTIANITY Matthew 5:27-28 You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man; neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abominations unto the LORD thy God. I Timothy 2:9 And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. I Corinthians 11:5-6 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. These were some of the verses from the scriptures which command woman to wear veil. If anyone calls herself a hindu or a Christian, then she should cover herself if she respects her scriptures. Only a single commandment is enough for a true believer to follow. And if you dont wear veil then it does not mean that you support hijab ban. If you support it then you are not supporting hijab ban, rather you are supporting human slavery. What do you want to be - a slave of a human or a slave of the Creator? If you really concerned about other women then let us fight for our rights and gain the status given by our Creator.
