AIMS: to introduce new vocabulary to teach about jobs to practise the acquired knowledge (have to) to improve communication skills in writing and expressing opinion

SPECIFIC COMPETENCES: At the end of class students will be able: to identifyjobs to select specific information from the radio programme to talk about duties and jobs to use the new vocabulary in sentences of their own

_________________________________________________________________________________ Activity 1 lead-in Aim:to introduce the topic of the lesson, Procedure:T asks Ss to open their books to page 91. T asks a S to read the text about the song. T asks Ss if they have heard of the Beatles and what is it that they know about the band. Interaction: T-S, S-T Classroom organization:lockstep Timing:3 min Activity 2 pre-reading Aim:to match the words with their Hungarian translation Procedure:T gives out words and Ss will have to match the words with their Hungarian translation. Ss will have to copy the translations to their copybooks. Interaction: T-S, S-T Classroom organization:IW

Activity 3 reading Aim:to practise the acquired knowledge Procedure:T hands out short texts to Ss about The Beatles. T put up a poster with pictures that illustrate the text that the Ss have to read. Ss will have to put their texts into the right place. Interaction: T-S, S-T Classroom organization:IW Timing:10 min Activity 4 comprehension questions Aim: to see what Ss have understood from the text Procedure: T pairs the Ss up. T hands out the text that was previously read and questions regarding the text. Ss will have to answer the question from the text. Ss will read their answers. Interaction: T-S, S-S, S-T Classroom organization: PW Timing:10 min Activity 5 pre - listening Aim: to know the meaning of the words they have to fill in Procedure: T writes the words that have to be filled in on to the blackboard. Ss and T discuss the meaning of the words. Interaction: T-S, S-T Classroom organization:lockstep Timing:5 min

Activity 6 listening Aim: to fill out the given text with the missing words Procedure: T pairs the Ss, T tells Ss to look at the text on page 91 from the book. While listening to the song Ss will have to fill in the missing words. Interaction: T-S, S-S, S-T Classroom organization:PW Timing:10 min Activity 7 Revision Aim: to revise the information that was learnt Procedure: T ask questions from the lesson and about the new vocabulary.
