MARINERS MINOR LEAUGE AFFILIATES TEAM RECAPS

AAA TACOMA RAINIERS PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE

Tacoma
Salt Lake

3 runs, 9 hits, 1 error

5 runs, 9 hits, 1 error

RECAP: The Rainiers scored 3 runs late in the game, but it wasnt enough to over come a 5-run 1st inning by the Bees as Tacoma lost to
Salt Lake 3-5 on Sunday. Starter Jeremy Bonderman (6.0,8,5,5,2,2) recorded his 2nd loss of the season, allowing 5 runs on 4 hits and 2
walks in the first inning. LH Lucas Luetge (2.0,1,0,0,1,3) struck out 3 in 2.0 scoreless inning in relief. LF Nate Tenbrink (2x4, R, BB), 3B
Carlos Triunfel (2x5, 2B, 3 RBI) and 2B Leury Bonilla (2x4) each recorded 2 of the Rainiers 9 hits.
OF NOTE: OF Eric Thames is the only player in the league to reach base safely in each of his teams first 18 games this season. Overall
this season he is batting .338 (24x71) with 13 runs scored, 4 double, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 9 RBI, 1 stolen base and 11 walks. Thames has
hit a home run in 4 of the last 6 games. INF Carlos Triunfel has hit safely the last 5 games he has appeared, batting .500 (13x26) with 5
runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 6 RBI. Zunino became the first Rainiers player since second baseman Dustin Ackley to
have his first Triple-A hit go for a home run on Thursday night. Ackley hit a solo homer in first Tacoma at-bat on July 15, 2010 at Reno. The
Rainiers begin the season with 4 of the top 5 prospects in the Mariners farm system, as ranked by Baseball America. Catcher Mike Zunino
(No. 1), pitchers Danny Hultzen (No. 3) and James Paxton (No. 4), and infielder Nick Franklin (No. 5) all sit atop BAs list entering the

HITTING FOR THE CYCLE: Shortstop Carlos Triunfel recorded 5 hits, including hitting for the cycle as AAA Tacoma shutout Fresno 8-0
on Wednesday night. Singling on the first pitch he saw in the fifth inning, Triunfel completed Tacomas first cycle since Raul Ibaez

Caleb Gindl on July 10, 2011, also against Albuquerque. Triunfel achieved the act in his first 4 at-bats of the game. He tripled with one out
in the first inning, led off the bottom of the third with a double, then homered in the fourth. He completed the cycle in the fifth inning after
lining a single down the right field line. Triunfel snapped an 0-for-20 stretch coming into the game and was the first Rainiers player since
Michael Saunders on July 30, 2011 vs. Las Vegas to record 5 hits in a game.
