The following is an example of a detailed ceremonial ritual to open the Temple using the Yitziratic Hexagram Formulae.

Given the nature of this ritual, the Thelemic Pentagram Formulae is used during the preliminary opening and closing stages of the Ritual. This will be particularly helpful to Aspirants in structuring their rites to Work with a specific Sephira, Planet, Path or Zodiacal Sign on the Yitziratic Tree of Life. Historically, the Pentagram Formulae was given to the Members of the First Order, and the Hexagram Formulae was given to Members of the Second Order. This procession is necessary as each formulae has direct correspondence with the Work of each Order, and the Pentagram Formulae is generally used to organize and prepare the Sphere for the Hexagram Work. In the Teachings of the Sanctuary, however, Members of the First Order are encouraged to begin Working with the Yitziratic Hexagram early in the Aspirants Magickal Career to further the Initiation Process into all corresponding energies which relate to their Work at task, producing a more well-rounded Initiate. For purposes of this paper, it will be assumed that a Member of the First Order will be performing the Ritual. (Instructions to the Childe of Tiphareth are also provided at the end of this paper.) We proceed on this basis. THE BANISHING EARTH PENTAGRAM RITUAL The Altar is placed slightly off center and towards the east so that, when you stand at the Foot of the Altar (west of the Altar facing east), you stand in the center of your Magick Circle. Perform the Lesser Banishing Earth Pentagram Ritual as follows: o Start at the Foot of the Altar. Stand up straight, hands to your side. Take a moment to breathe deeply to commence the flow of the Holy Prana, and acknowledge the purpose of your Working. o When you are ready, hold the hands open touching at the finger tips above your head to create a crescent over your head with the hands and arms and say NUIT. See Her above and about you. o Keep the finger tips touching, lower the hands to your Heart Center, and say - HADIT. Acknowledge Hadit at the core of your Star. o Make the Sign of Victory, separating the hands and raising them to heavens to form a V and say HERU-RA-HA. Feel the Power of the Lord of the Aeon flowing through the core of your Star and your Vessel. o Lower your hands into Praying Position (palms together with thumbs touching the chest and the fingers pointed to the chin), and say - AMEN. Acknowledge the embodied Little Tree and equilibrate your Sphere. o Move to the eastern cardinal point on the perimeter of your Magick Circle. Trace a Banishing Earth Pentagram (starting at the bottom left point of the Pentagram and moving to the top point, and proceeding from there). Point to the center thereof and charge it in the Name AMESHET, who is Son of Horus and the Kerub of Earth. Assign the Sephira Malkuth and the Element of Earth to this quadrant of your Magick Circle. o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the northern cardinal point, and stop there. Trace a Banishing Earth Pentagram. Point to the center thereof and charge it in the Name - AHEPHI, who is a Son of Horus and the Kerub of Air. Assign the Sephira Yesod and the Element of Air to this quadrant of your Magick Circle. o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the western cardinal point, and stop there. Trace a Banishing Earth Pentagram. Point to the center thereof and charge it in the Name - DAUMUTEH, who is a Son of Horus and the Kerub of Water. Assign the Sephira Hod and the Element of Water to this quadrant of your Magick Circle. o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the southern cardinal point, and stop there. Trace a Banishing Earth Pentagram. Point to the center thereof and charge it in the Name - KABESHUNT, who is a Son of Horus and the Kerub of Fire. Assign the Sephira Netzach and the Element of Fire to this quadrant of your Magick Circle. o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the eastern cardinal point to complete your Magick Circle, and return to the Foot of the Altar. o o Facing east, stand with arms outstretched in the Sign of the Cross, and say Before me, the Holy Powers of the East. Behind me, the Holy Powers of the West. On my right hand, the Holy Powers of the South. On my left hand, the Holy Powers of the North. For about me flames the Pentagram. And in the Center Shines the Crowned Childe. Equillibrate your Magick Circle again, by repeating the opening Invocations of the Most High as follows:

 Hold the hands open touching at the finger tips above your head to create a crescent over your head with the hands and arms and say NUIT. Keep the finger tips touching, lower the hands to your Heart Center, and say HADIT. Make the Sign of Victory, separating the hands and raising them to heavens to form a V and say HERU-RA-HA. Lower your hands into Praying Position (palms together with thumbs touching the chest and the fingers pointed to the chin), and say AMEN. Acknowledge the embodied Little Tree and Formulae of your Magick Circle. PURIFY & CONSECRATE YOUR MAGICK CIRCLE See the paper entitled The Purification & Consecration of the Sphere and the First Order Ceremonial Ritual of Initiation as to how to perform these aspects of the Ritual. Purify your Magick Circle with the Holy Water. Consecrate your Magick Circle with the Holy Fire.

THE INITIAL DECLARATIONS From the Foot of the Altar, declare in a firm commanding voice o The Temple is properly guarded. o Let us now Work with the [the Sephira (insert Name)], [the Planet (insert Name)], [the Path of (insert Hebrew letter corresponding to the Path)] or [the Zodiacal Sign of (insert Name)]]. Make the Elemental Sign to the east corresponding with your Work as a Member of the First Order, which is also the Sign of your Grade. o For the Childe of Malkuth, the Sign is Set Fighting. o For the Childe of Yesod, the Sign is of the God Shu Supporting. o For the Childe of Hod, the Sign is of the Goddess Auramoth. o For the Childe of Netzach, the Sign is of the Goddess Thoum-ash-neith. o These are given in the paper entitled The Scroll of the Pentagram Formulae for the First Order under the heading The Pentagram Formula for the Dominis Liminis. THE LESSER BANISHING RITUAL OF THE HEXAGRAM Prepare to unformulate your Sphere on the lower Astral Plane. By way of further explanation, to rise to the Plane which is the focus of your Working, your Sphere must unformulate on the lower Astral Plane and reformulate according to the Plane which is the focus of your Working Perform the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram as follows: o Start at the Foot of the Altar. Stand up straight, hands to your side. Take a moment to breathe deeply to commence the flow of the Holy Prana, and acknowledge the intent of this stage of your Working. o When you are ready, hold the hands open touching at the finger tips above your head to create a crescent over your head with the hands and arms and say NUIT. See Her above and about you. o Keep the finger tips touching, lower the hands to your Heart Center, and say - HADIT. Acknowledge Hadit at the core of your Star. o Make the Sign of Victory, separating the hands and raising them to heavens to form a V and say HERU-RA-HA. Feel the Power of the Lord of the Aeon flowing through the core of your Star and your Vessel. o Lower your hands into Praying Position (palms together with thumbs touching the chest and the fingers pointed to the chin), and say AMEN. Acknowledge the embodied Little Tree, the formulae of your Sphere and the intent to banish and unformulate your Sphere as described. o Move to the eastern cardinal point on the perimeter of your Magick Circle. Trace a Banishing Unicursal Hexagram of Earth (i.e., a Banishing Earth Hexagram). This is done by starting at the top point, and moving to the lower middle left point, and proceeding from there. Point to the center thereof and charge it in the Notariqon ARARITA. Acknowledge that the Sephira Malkuth has been banished, but the element of Earth remains assigned to this quadrant of your Magick. o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the northern cardinal point, and stop there. Trace a Banishing Earth Hexagram.

 Point to the center thereof and charge it in the Notariqon ARARITA. Acknowledge that the Sephira Yesod has been banished, but the Element of Air remains assigned to this quadrant of your Magick Circle. o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the western cardinal point, and stop there. Trace a Banishing Earth Hexagram. Point to the center thereof and charge it in the Notariqon ARARITA. Acknowledge that the Sephira Hod has been banished, but the Element of Water remains assigned to this quadrant of your Magick Circle. o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the southern cardinal point, and stop there. Trace a Banishing Earth Hexagram. Point to the center thereof and charge it in the Notariqon ARARITA. Acknowledge that the Sephira Netzach has been banished, but the Element of Fire remains assigned to this quadrant of your Magick Circle. o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the eastern cardinal point to complete your Magick Circle, and return to the Foot of the Altar. o Facing east, equillibrate your Magick Circle again, by repeating the opening Invocations of the Most High as follows: Hold the hands open touching at the finger tips above your head to create a crescent over your head with the hands and arms and say NUIT. Keep the finger tips touching, lower the hands to your Heart Center, and say HADIT. Make the Sign of Victory, separating the hands and raising them to heavens to form a V and say HERU-RA-HA. Lower your hands into Praying Position (palms together with thumbs touching the chest and the fingers pointed to the chin), and say AMEN. Acknowledge the embodied Little Tree, the Formulae of your Magick Circle and the nature of the banishings, with the intent to proceed as follows. THE INVOCATION OF THE DIVINE Remain at the Foot of the Altar for this stage of the Ritual. If you are Working with a Sephira, make the following Call to Nuit for Divine Aid in your Holy Work at task:

 If you are Working with a Planet, in lieu of the Call to Nuit given above, recite and perform an Invocation of the God corresponding with the Planet. o You are encouraged to use the Invocations found on the Sanctuarys website for this purpose. o If you are Working with the Sun, recite the Invocation of Ra. o If you are Working with the Moon, recite the Invocation of Isis. o If you are Working with Mars, recite the Invocation of Horus. o If you are Working with Mercury, recite the Invocation of Thoth. o If you are Working with Jupiter, recite the Invocation of Amoun, the Concealed One. o If you are Working with Venus, recite the Invocation of Hathoor. o If you are Working with Saturn (viewed as the Day of the Goddess Most High, make the Call to Nuit given above (substituting the name of the Planet for the Name of the Sephira where indicated) or recite the Invocation of Isis. If you are Working with a Path, in lieu of the Call to Nuit given above, recite and perform an Invocation of Thoth or skip this stage of the Ritual. If you are Working with a Zodiacal Sign, in lieu of the Call to Nuit given above, recite and perform an Invocation of the God corresponding with the Planetary Ruler of the Zodiacal Sign which is the subject of your Working, or skip this stage of the Ritual. Assume the appropriate God-Form, if any, as a result of your Invocations during this stage of the Ritual.

THE GREATER INVOKING RITUAL OF THE HEXAGRAM It is at this stage of the Ritual that you reformulate your Sphere according to the Laws of the Plane which is the focus of your Working. Perform the Greater Invoking Ritual of the Hexagram which corresponds with the Sephira, Planet, Path or Zodiacal Sign which is the subject of your Working, as follows: o Start at the Foot of the Altar, remaining in the God-Form, if any, which you have assumed, so you perform this stage of the Ritual as the God which you have invoked. Stand up straight, hands to your side. Take a moment to breathe deeply to commence the flow of the Holy Prana, and acknowledge the intent of this stage of your Working. o When you are ready, hold the hands open touching at the finger tips above your head to create a crescent over your head with the hands and arms and say NUIT. See Her above and about you. o Keep the finger tips touching, lower the hands to your Heart Center, and say - HADIT. Acknowledge Hadit at the core of your Star. o Make the Sign of Victory, separating the hands and raising them to heavens to form a V and say HERU-RA-HA. (Note that the Hexagram Formulae is not used to Work with the Paths which are attributed solely to an Element.) n When Working with a Zodiacal Sign, this is the Hexagram corresponding with the Planetary Ruler of the Zodiacal Sign. Point to the center of the Invoking Hexagram and charge it in the Notariqon ARARITA. Trace the same Invoking Hexagram you traced in the east. Point to the center thereof, and charge it in the Notariqon ARARITA. Trace in the center of the Invoking Hexagram the same Planetary or Zodiacal Sigil or Hebrew letter you traced in the east. Point to the center thereof, and charge it in the same Divine Name or Hebrew letter you first uttered in the east during this stage of the Ritual. Further establish the Elemental Formulae of the Sephira, Planet, Path or Zodiacal Sign which is the subject of your Working, assigning the Element of Water to this quadrant of your Magick Circle. n Take a moment to do so. n Acknowledge the Invoking Hexagram before you, with the Sigil or Hebrew letter in the center thereof. n Acknowledge the Divine Name which was uttered. n Acknowledge the Element of Water being assigned here. n Prepare to walk up the Planes with the Circle Movement which follows. o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the southern cardinal point, and stop there. Point to the center thereof, and charge it in the same Divine Name or Hebrew letter you first uttered in the east during this stage of the Ritual. Complete the Elemental Formulae of the Sephira, Planet, Path or Zodiacal Sign which is the subject of your Working, assigning the Element of Fire to this quadrant of your Magick Circle. n Take a moment to do so. n Acknowledge the Invoking Hexagram before you, with the Sigil or Hebrew letter in the center thereof. n Acknowledge the Divine Name which was uttered. n Acknowledge the Element of Fire being assigned here. n Prepare to walk up the Planes with the Circle Movement which follows.

o Move along the perimeter of your Magick Circle to the eastern cardinal point, completing your Magick Circle and your Journey up the Planes to the Plane which is the focus of your Working. Stop there. o Return to the Foot of the Altar, and face east. o Trace over the Altar the same Invoking Hexagram you traced in the east. o Point to the center thereof, and charge it in the Notariqon ARARITA. o Trace in the center of the Invoking Hexagram the same Planetary or Zodiacal Sigil or Hebrew letter you traced in the east. o Point to the center thereof, and charge it as follows: o If you are Working with a Sephira or a Planet, utter the full Divine Hierarchy of the Sephira or the Sephira corresponding with the Planet, as follows: In the Name of [insert the appropriate Name given below], Spirits of [identify the Sephira or Sephira corresponding with the Planet which is the subject of your Working] adore your Creator! Note that this is done only on occasion, and then the Angel or Intelligence is generally invoked, and not so much the Spirit of the Planet. o If you are Working with a Path, simply utter the name of the Hebrew letter corresponding with the Path to charge this fifth Invoking Hexagram.

o If you are Working with a Zodiacal Sign, simply utter the Divine Name you first uttered in the east during this stage of the Ritual to charge this fifth Invoking Hexagram. If you are Working with a Sephira or Planet, give the knocks of the Sephira or Planet which is the subject of your Working, which are as follows: o For Malkuth and the Earth, 3-4-3. o For Yesod and Levanah/Luna, 3-3-3. o For Hod and Kokab/Mercury, 4-4. o For Netzach and Nogah/Venus, 3-1-3. o For Tiphareth and Shemesh/Sol, 3-3. o For Geburah and Madim/Mars, 2-1-2. o For Chesed and Tzedek/Jupiter, 2-2. If you are Working with a Path or Zodiacal Sign, no knocks are given at this stage of the Ritual.

Complete this stage of the Working as follows: o Remain at the Foot of the Altar in the God-Form, if any, which you have assumed. Stand up straight, hands to your side. Pore breathe the Holy Prana, and acknowledge the success of the Invocations. o When you are ready, hold the hands open touching at the finger tips above your head to create a crescent over your head with the hands and arms and say NUIT. See Her above and about you. o Keep the finger tips touching, lower the hands to your Heart Center, and say - HADIT. Acknowledge Hadit at the core of your Star. o Make the Sign of Victory, separating the hands and raising them to heavens to form a V and say HERU-RA-HA. Feel the Magickal Currents invoked flowing through the core of your Star and your Vessel. o Lower your hands into Praying Position (palms together with thumbs touching the chest and the fingers pointed to the chin), and say AMEN. Acknowledge the embodied Little Tree, the formulae of your Sphere and the intent to proceed with your Holy Work as follows. Declare In the Holy Names spoken and adored here today, I declare this Temple opened unto [identify the Sephira, Planet, Path or Zodiacal Sign which is the subject of your Working]! EQUILLIBRATE & EVOLVE Having duly invoked the Sephira, Planet, Path or Zodiacal Sign which is the subject of your Working, sit and meditate in front of your Altar facing east and outwards towards the perimeter of your Magick Circle. (For the Childe of Tiphareth, the direction here is in front of your Altar, facing west.) Equillibrate the Currents which have been invoked, balancing and assimilating them in your Sphere. Gain experience with the Currents in the process. Ask to and be Initiated in the corresponding Mysteries of the subject of your Working, letting your mind be calm so you may freely receive. Take as much time as you have. THE CLOSING When you are done, proceed as follows. Take a Eucharist of the Sephira, Planet, Path or Zodiacal Sign invoked, if you have prepared one for your Working, giving thanks for the blessings you have received and adoring the Holy Names invoked during the Ritual. It is at this stage of the Ritual that you begin to unformulate your Sphere on the Plane which was the focus of your Working. Perform the Greater Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram which corresponds with the Sephira, Planet, Path or Zodiacal Sign which is the subject of your Working, as follows: o Start at the Foot of the Altar, remaining in the God-Form, if any, which you have assumed. Stand up straight, hands to your side. Aspirants performing the Work of the Childe of Tiphareth would rightly modify the Ritual given above by (1) placing the Altar in the Center of the Magick Circle, (2) changing the Foot of the Altar to the east of the Altar facing west and (3) making the LVX Signs at the Foot of the Altar at the opening and completion of each banishing and invoking Hexagram Ritual included in the Ritual given above (in lieu of performing the Signing and Invocations to Nuit, Hadit and Heru-Ra-Ha). As with any rite, you are encouraged to extrapolate the Magickal Formulae of the Ritual offered above, and learn to use the proper formulae to perform and accomplish your Work at task. You are also encouraged to review what is said in other papers issued by the Sanctuary to add proper coloration to the Hexagrams being projected and integrate floor work into your own Ritual of the Stars.
