STUDENT VISA (SUBCLASS 573) APPLICATION CHECKLIST

This checklist helps to ensure that you have included all of the necessary documentation that is needed by the Australian High Commission Dhaka to process your visa application. How to use this checklist 1. Before you sign your visa application form, use this checklist to ensure that you have included all necessary documentation to support your claims. 2. When you are satisfied that you have correctly completed your visa application form and all of the necessary documentation is included, you should sign and date your visa application form. 3. Include this completed checklist, when you lodge your visa application form and all necessary documentation.

Other important information Please be aware that the decision on your visa application may be decided on the information and documentation that you include at the time of lodgement. Delivery and courier charges You are responsible for all of the costs of delivering information to the Australian High Commission by mail or courier, including any additional information that may be requested by the Australian High Commission. If you give this requested additional information to the Australian Visa Application Centre, you may be charged a courier fee for delivery to the High Commission. If you submit additional documents without a specific request from the Australian High Commission at the Australian Visa Application Centre, you are responsible for all delivery and courier charges. A visa label is not required for travel to Australia. You can request a visa label after your visa has been granted, but this request will take 15 working days to process.

Form: 157A Student Visa Application Cover Sheet (available at www.vfs-au.com.bd) Form: Details of Relatives (for each adult visa applicant) Certified copy of current and previous original passport(s) for each person included in the application. (Please include 2 certified copies of inside cover and pages 1-5 of current passport and copies of any previous Australian visa) 4 passport size photographs taken in the last 6 months for each person included in the application. Certified copy of birth certificate(s) of all people included in the application (Birth certificates must show the names of both parents) Original Confirmation of Enrolment from your education provider course (this will not be

returned to you) Certified copy of evidence of education/qualifications and work history A statement of purpose explaining why you wish to study this course and how this course will benefit you English language requirement: You are required to submit evidence of your English language proficiency. Detailed information on English language requirement and acceptable evidence is available on www.immi.gov.au/students/ For non-streamlined applications Financial requirement: You must declare on your Student visa application and submit evidence from an acceptable source that you have sufficient funds to cover yourself and your family members for the first 24 months (AL4 applicants) or first 18 months (AL3) of your stay in Australia. For students who are not AL4 or AL3 applicants, refer to website below for requirements. Detailed information on defining acceptable sources of finance, calculating the amount required and categories of expenses which need to be funded for living in Australia is available on www.immi.gov.au/students/.

You will also need to provide a printout of the BDT /AUD exchange rate from www.oanda.com. This printout must be dated the day of application lodgment or the previous business day. If required, evidence of the family relationship between you and your sponsor. Eg. birth certificates, school records, passports etc. Financial Guarantee Form completed by anyone, including yourself, providing funds for your study For streamlined applications: Financial requirement: You must declare on your Student visa application and submit evidence from an acceptable source that you have sufficient funds to cover yourself for the period of stay in Australia. You should also provide all the documentation provided by you to your education provider, showing you have sufficient funds to support you and your familys stay in Australia. You will also need to provide a printout of the BDT /AUD exchange rate from www.oanda.com. This printout must be dated the day of application lodgment or the previous business day. If required, evidence of the family relationship between you and your sponsor. Eg. birth certificates, school records, passports etc. Financial Guarantee Form completed by anyone, including yourself, providing funds for your study If you have served in the armed force of any country, you may be required to provide certified copies of military service records or discharge papers. If you have been charged with or convicted of a criminal offence, you must provide an original Police Certificate (not more than 12 months old) from the relevant country

Evidence of Relationships Necessary Requirements (If you are married/with or without children) Evidence of the relationship between the applicant and all members of their family unit (spouse and children only), including those who are not joining you in Australia. For example, birth certificates, marriage certificate etc, wedding photos, joint bank accounts etc (If you are widowed or divorced) Certified copy of death certificate or divorce certificate, as applicable

Applicants under the age of 18 - Necessary Requirements Form: 157N (if under 18 years old) Consent form for biometrics collection. You must provide evidence of either (a), (b) or (c); (a) If you intend to reside in Australia with a parent, or a person who has custody of you, you must provide evidence of the relationship and that they have the right to remain in Australia for the period of your stay, or until you turn 18 years, whichever is the lesser period. (b) If you intend to reside in Australia with a relative nominated by a parent or a person who has custody of you, you must provide evidence of the relationship, evidence that the relative is at least 21 years old, police clearance/s, and evidence that the relative has the right to remain in Australia for the period of your stay, or until you turn 18, whichever is the lesser period. (c) If you will not be residing in Australia with one of the above mentioned persons, you must provide a signed statement from your education provider confirming that appropriate arrangements have been made for your accommodation, support and general welfare during your stay in Australia.
