Important Details
NO DENIM Rule: Special Olympics Michigans policy is that no athlete is permitted to participate in a competition in denim clothing. Athletes are to be disqualified if competing in denim. Competition: is expected to end no later than 2:00 pm. Lunch is provided for competing athletes and venue volunteers for free. Athletes must have a wristband and volunteers must be properly identified (shirt or ribbon) to receive lunch. Lunch will also be available for parents & spectators to purchase for $3. Medals/Ribbons: are awarded immediately after each heat. If an athlete must compete at another event, please return for the award. Missed events: If an athlete misses an event, please talk to the event chairman or assistant to try to reschedule. Lost & Found: items should be dropped off or picked up at the Information/registration table. Rain plan: Information for outdoor event sites will be announced at Opening Ceremonies if the weather is threatening. Athlete wristbands: are to be worn at all times except by swimmers. Athletes must wear these bands to compete and receive lunch.

Athletes are to be supervised in locker rooms and escorted to the pool. One coach from each program should stay on deck with the athlete(s). Please listen closely for events to be called for your athletes. Athletes should be supervised in the locker rooms after competition when dressing to depart from the event.

General Information
1. Please meet in the Huizenga Tennis & Track Center. Track and field athletes will have chaperones for the day. Meet at the stadium after Opening Ceremonies if you have not met and connected with a chaperone. 2. Familiarize yourself with the event schedules and campus map. 3. No Show athletes should be reported to the Event Chairmen at each venue where an athlete was to compete. 4. Athletes must have a wristband to compete and receive lunch. 5. Please ensure the prompt arrival of athlete(s) to event sites. NOTE: If there is a schedule conflict, athletes should compete in track events before field events. 6. Awards are presented after each heat. Remain at the site until your athlete has received the appropriate award. 7. Chaperones are to remain with their athlete(s) until he/she leaves the Spring Games event. If you have trouble or need assistance, please report to a venue Event Chairman or to a Spring Games committee member for help.
