Hi everybody...

I have a simple question, What is the correct configuration about the network discovery? I have a Network Discovery configuration, only the subnets tab is configured because I want to discover the problem is that I do not get any network resource, only the action I get is the SCCM server and the router has configured the server. What more need for a proper configuration of this method of discovery?

thanks for your help ... regards!!!

The suggeson would be to setup DHCP opon. If the servers use stac IP address then you will need to look at 3rd party soware to do a ping sweep for you and have it add them to your CongMgr site.

Did you setup DHCP opon? What about SNMP opons? What are you expecng to see that you are not seeing? Keep in mind that network discovery will only display device it can determine and IP and Subnet mask for.

Hi, Have a look at the netdisc.log file and check that for errors. Also what is the duration of the discovery? Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

Hi, I don'n have the DHCP and the SNMP options with some setting, the only thing that I want to know is to discover the resources on the network, something like PCs and server. The netdisc.log only discovered two resource, the SCCM server and the router!!! What other configutation I need to do in order to get more resource??? Thanks

Without either DHCP or SNMP you will not discover much. Network discovery does not preform an ping sweep.

MS has/had one but you have to ask you TAM to get it and they may not be giving it out anymore as it is not supported. My problem is that I dont remember what it is called any more. This one which is in Beta. http://support.enhansoft.com/Blogs/post/PublicBetaforEnhancedNetworkDevice Discovery.aspx
