Xavier Pledge
Grateful for the gift of Xavier School and aware of my responsibilities as a member of the Xavier Community I do solemnly pledge that I shall strive to live faithfully according to the ideals and principles of Xavier. I shall value the heritage of my forefathers and carry out my duties and responsibilities as a citizen of this nation. Conscious of my worth as a human being I pledge to value and uphold the dignity of every person through my words, deeds, and the choices that I make. In the Spirit of Magis I shall strive to develop my God-given talents, and use them to serve my people, especially the poor and the needy. I shall work in harmony with others to change this society into one that is more just, more human, and one more truly Christian. I choose to follow Christ, our Lord, as my Leader and Model. Inspired by Him, I shall strive to live my life in a more selfless, more generous, and more total service of God and my neighbors so that I may be fully alive, endowed with a passion for justice, and the skills for development. In return, I shall seek only this reward: that in fulfilling the Xavier Pledge, I will find greater meaning in my life, and I will make a difference in the lives of others. This is my pledge before the Xavier Community, my country and my God.
The
c elebration of the Golden Jubilee of Xavier School intends to reach the whole Xavier family and spread the Xavier Spirit. After the Jubilee, the alumni, parents, staff and students will blow the Xavier Spirit and turn it into an irresistible fire. Fr. Ismael Zuloaga, SJ
My
hope is that our Golden Jubilee will be a season of renewal of the Xavier ideals and values that we have learned. More than ever, we, members of the Xavier Community, are called to share the blessings that we have received and increasingly be able to make a substantial contribution to society. Fr.
