Skeletal system Have you ever wondered how your skeletal system works and why There are many it is important?
reasons. It makes lots of blood cells in every second. Also it is important because it helps us to move, run and skip. Last, did you know that bones provide a hard surface for the muscles to attach to? The skeleton is a living framework for all kinds of muscles and organs. The bones provide a rm surface for the muscles to attach to.The skeleton protects the internal organs.

Main Bones
Do you know your main bones in your body and what they are made of? Well you have many. Here are the parts of your bones. Periosteum: the periosteum contains nerves and blood vessels that nourish the bone. Compact: It is the hard exterior part of most bones of the skeleton. Cancellous: It is a not as quite as hard as the compact bone.The bone marrow: Is a soft like a thick jelly and its job is to make lots of blood cells. Your other main bones are called: Skull, clavicles, sternum, ribs, radius, ilium, pelvis, backbone, femur and tibia. Your skull protects the brain. The spinal column goes through the skull. The spinal column supports the body weight and keeps your body in balance. The pelvis helps you to do many things like to dance and move fast.The ribs protect the heart and the lungs also it helps you to breath in and out.

The Process What is the Process of the


Skeletal System? Did you know that all of your bones are alive and that they are growing inside of your body? When your bones are growing your skeleton is getting bigger. When a person grows the bones get harder and harder. The bones are living tissues and they can be xed. When someone breaks a bone he/she needs to put a cast on. New cells help to x the broken bone.

Keeping Healthy

Physicalactivity strengthens the bone to keep the joints in good shape all the time. Running, swimming, bicycling and stretching are the best exercising things to keep the bones healthy. To keep the calcium for the bones it is needed to have a healthy diet.Drinking milk helps you keep your bones healthy, as well to do your daily exercising will help your bones to be healthy and in a good shape.

Bone Injury and Illnesses


When a bone is broken we say it is fractured. There are two kind of fractures: simple and composed. In a simplefracture, the bone is broken in one part. In a compoundfracture the bone is broken in more than one part. When a bone is broken, it needs to be immobilized with a cast. Once the bone heals the cast can be removed. Osteoporosis is a disease of the bone. It affects the bone structure, and the mass of the bone

Glossary

Bones: individual parts of the skeleton. Joints: a place when two bones come together. Fracture: when a bone is broken. Compact Bone: it is the dense bone.It is lled with organic substance and inorganic salts.

Conclusions In this project I learned that the skeletal system is important because it helps you to do everything in life. I realized you have to drink lots of milk and foods with calcium because it makes your bones healthy and not wobbly. People should realize it is important to move a lot by doing exercise. Thank you for taking time to read my book, and I hope you learned a lot about your skeletal system!
