A trading post will be available at the Cub Scout day camps and Webelos Action Camps with official Cub Scout and Webelos equipment, craft items, and souvenirs. It will be open each day of camp either as one of the activity stations or after camp.

Webelos Action Camps


Come for a great weekend of fun and adventure at Webelos Action Camp.
Webelos Action Camp is a way to experience great outdoor camping in a beautiful setting, while staying close to home. Webelos Action Camp is a weekend camp where Webelos and their parents can experience camping firsthand. Webelos can receive advancement opportunities, cook over an open flame, canoe, try their skills in archery and BB-gun shooting, learn a few new camping skills, and gain confidence. There are separate, different programs for Webelos I and Webelos II Scouts. Webelos Action Camp is offered twice a year. A Webelos Scout may attend one or both of the camps.

Camp Fees
The Webelos Action Camp registration fee is $35 for Scouts and covers all the great activities, T-shirt, and patch. For the fall camp, an additional $10 fee is charged to cover two meals (Saturday evening and Sunday breakfast) for all attendees, youth and adult. Adults may purchase shirts and/or patches at additional cost. Register by May 1 and September 1 to be guaranteed a T-shirt and patch.

Webelos Action Camp Dates and Locations


May 31June 2 Camp Chicagami, Eveleth (Bears and first-year Webelos eligible) September 2729 Driftwood Estates, Duluth (First-year and second-year Webelos eligible)

Camperships are available for Scouts who need financial assistance. Applications can be obtained from the council service center or from the council website, www.vac-bsa.org. They should be submitted at least four weeks before camp. No Scout is denied the fun and adventure of camp because of financial need.

Gizmos, Gadgets, and Goo Cub Scout Day Camps


2013s Gizmos, Gadgets, and Goo Cub Scout Day Camp offers incredible programs
introducing your Cub Scout to principles of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) while participating in fun Cub Scout activities. Your Scout will learn and grow through hands-on experiences that will make science, technology, engineering, and math fun and exciting. As with all Scouting activities, day camp is designed to prepare him to be a leader through critical thinking and communication. He will have FUN with a purpose! Day camp is open to all Cub Scouts who will be in first through fifth grades as of September 2013. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and participate with their sons.

Camp Program
Scouts will experience be two funfilled days incorporating STEM into activities like archery, BB-gun shooting, crafts, games, nature, songs, and skits. The program not only introduces principles of STEM but also allows your Cub Scout to complete many requirements for achievements, electives, and Webelos activity badges needed to advance a rank this year.

Camp Fees
The cost of day camp is $40. Fees include a day camp T-shirt and a patch when you register by May 12, 2013.
