Opening Prayer Father, we thank you so much for your timeless, unchanging word. I pray that we would never take for granted this gift nor the freedom we have to read, study and mediate on Scripture day and night.

Family Time Use a Lazy Susan and make a Spiritual topic wheel (a bag/sack will work too) to practice having intentional spiritual conversations. First include some Yes/No questions about God (i.e. Does God love you? Is God in control of everything? Does God know what we are doing right now, etc?) Then change to open -ended questions (i.e. - How has God shown his love for you?, How can God help us get through difficult circumstances? What do you think God wants most from you/us, etc?). Make slips of paper with several well known Bible Stories and play charades to guess the story. Talk about why rules are important (they are for our good/safety; it may go well with those who obey). Kids Time Tell your Favorite Bible story. Try to pick a story that relates in some way to your family or a family experience. How does that story instruct you to live your life in a way that honors God? Using construction paper, have each child make a sign with Deut. 6:5 written out on it. Tape string/yarn to the back of it so it can be put next to the front door (or bedroom door) where everyone in the family can see it when they leave the house. Talk about why we want Gods work on the doorframes of our houses, and should it be on the inside the outside or both? Adult Time Brainstorm about ways to start a spiritual conversation with your kids (or other kids in the HG). How does PBCs integrated biblical instruction help foster spiritual conversations with kids? Talk about what so it may go well with you (Deut 6:3) means as it relates to parenting/grand-parenting. Prayer Time Open eyes to recognize opportunities for spiritual conversations. Diligence to study Gods Word so that we would possess greater readiness to address spiritual questions & conversations with our children/grandchildren Inquisitive open hearts for the kids in your HG Wisdom to make good parenting decisions

To find an event, visit nationaldayofprayer.org. Church Calendar Special Mothers Day Service is Sunday, May 12. Please invite moms and grandmothers to this special service. All moms that attend will be honored and receive a commemorative charm. Bring your bracelet or purchase one in the Lobby, as we will be attaching charms in the lobbies of both buildings.
