Beaches Picture yourself walking along threads of white sand that glisten gold in the sun, and taking a dip in refreshing waters that illuminate turquoise close to the shore. This may sound a bit like the beginning to a therapeutic exercise of some sort, but it is in fact the truth when it comes to trying to describe North Cyprus beaches. They are a real defining point for the area, with some of the most picturesque and unspoilt of environments youll ever visit. The Karpaz peninsula for instance is perhaps the most luxurious of coastal temptation, with miles and miles of untouched empty beaches, all of which have their own diversity. The nature is also home to the occasional sea turtle and wild donkey, while overhead many exotic birds migrate through the skies at certain times of year. With this in mind, many choose to visit Karpaz for the solitary coves that offer a private escape on a slice of paradise, as opposed to the more crowded and activity orientated beaches. If youre in search of the latter then youll find places such as Glapsides public beach meet the criteria, with caf facilities and an abundance of water sports that create an energetic atmosphere perfect to entertain families or those that want to spend a whole day by the sea. Theres even a DJ in the evenings, so you can spend nightfall dancing or socialising against the breeze and beauty of the beach. Many beaches in Kyrenia have a similar atmosphere to this, though Alagadi beach to the East is a serene environment for protecting the endangered loggerhead and green turtles. You can spend a day visiting here, spotting the cute little creatures and enjoying the peacefulness. Whatever the ambience youre looking for North Cyprus has beaches aplenty, so you definitely wont be disappointed. Activities Its true to say that North Cyprus is mostly about relaxation. Those citrus groves, orchid trails and the sea salt air could work their magic on even the most stubborn workaholic! Thats not to say it hasnt got a wild side too though. Whether you just want some fun distractions or an adrenaline rush with something adventurous, youll find it here. With the allure of those topaz waters, which are home to many exotic species, water sports are of course one of the most popular activities. Many of the public beaches will offer a range, especially in high season. These will usually include things such as jet skiing, organised banana boats or doughnut rides, canoeing, wind-surfing, parasailing and of course scuba-diving. Theres so much natural beauty to explore in the rugged exterior of North Cyprus, in particular the Kyrenia Mountains provide great inspiration for enthusiastic hikers. If walking up steep inclines isnt so much your thing, how about a horse ride instead? Its a brilliant way to catch the natural panoramic views of the region. Families or groups of friends can enjoy a day out go karting, ten-pin bowling or paintballing (if youre feeling brave!) For something extra thrilling though paragliding is recognised as one of the most exhilarating of things to try, allowing you the chance to see North Cyprus from a perspective not many have! For the calmer spirited activity seekers, a spot of fishing perhaps? Or a game of golf at the luxurious Korineum resort would suit those that are either experienced golfers or want to learn. Whatever you chose to do whilst here, you can be sure that it will be a totally unique experience, set to the Mediterranean scenery. History In many ways, venturing into North Cyprus is like going on a great adventure. The island has seen so many heroes of legends and the past, and these have left their spirit in the many sites that are scattered amongst the scenery. Myth along with ancient history is a part of the islands foundations, weathered but proud alongside the Mediterranean nature. The architecture in particular is a reminder of the civilisations that lived here long, long ago, and add to the atmosphere a ghostly ambience of all the life that has passed through these dusty streets. Famagusta is a prime spot for exploration. Inside its walled city youll find churches, tombs and monasteries, all placid but with a charismatic presence amongst the quiet landscape. Famagusta is also home to what is considered to be the greatest ancient city in Cyprus: Salamis. The ruins here are a collection of fragments from a once glamorous and opulent environment. Much of the past mingles with the present, the old harbour in Kyrenia a beautiful backdrop to evening diners and pensive wanderers. Bellapais Abbey is a shrine to the grandeur of gothic architecture, with an inspiring design that will make you feel as though youre in a fairy tale while you sip coffee in the shade of the gardens that surround it. The truly wonderful thing is that everything youll spot has some sort of a story attached to it, including the five finger mountain that watches over the region like a proud guardian. The scenery provides a constant source of conversation with the locals, its historical nature also being the cause for North Cyprus tranquillity. It is this that gives the island a feeling of being frozen in time, preserving its unique heritage and mystical charm.

Take It All In
Many head to North Cyprus for its atmosphere of privacy and tranquillity. Those long curves of sun kissed sand and side streets charmed with home cooked aromas sketch a seemingly sleepy quality to the islands character, though this still holds some unexpected surprises! Embrace the nature by taking an adrenaline fuelled hike or horse ride through the rugged Kyrenia Mountains, reaching panoramic views thatll make for a photo stop like no other. Paintballing, go-karting, and water sports are in popular demand, and can give your holiday that extra edge as well as being great for families and groups. You can explore the vast array of exotic sea life with some snorkelling or diving, and if youre feeling especially brave perhaps have a go at paragliding! For a more chilled out way to spend your time you could take a picnic along the beautiful Karpaz Peninsula and do a spot of bird watching. Theres also the lavish Korineum Golf Club that offers North Cyprus only 18 hole course, which you can tackle whilst wrapped in the warm Mediterranean ambience. So, if you find yourself restless from all that time spent sipping cocktails poolside, there is an unexpected variety of activities that can be explored whilst here. These are made all the more exhilarating and unique through the fact they are set to the backdrop of exotic and inspiring scenery. If you are interested in any activities in particular we can assist you in pre-booking these at the same time you book your holiday. Alternatively, you can also book once in the resort. If you need any further information please call us on 0844 414 1684 to speak with one of our travel advisors.
Turtle Project
Due to marine turtles being endangered species conservation is extremely important in North Cyprus, where many turtles choose to nest. In 1992 the Society for the Protection of Turtles in Northern Cyprus (SPOT) sent a team of volunteers with the same initiative of monitoring, researching and protecting the marine turtles to conduct surveys on the nesting beaches in the area. Since then three conservation groups (including MTCP and MTRG) continue these practices on nesting beaches, successfully managing to protect the turtle population, as well as make an impact on the global understanding of marine turtle biology and the threats to their existence. Turtle watching can provide an experience that is rare and unique to North Cyprus. It is something that will allow you to get right to the heart of the islands wildlife, and to appreciate the work that goes into maintaining such a peaceful and undisturbed environment for these creatures. Schedules for excursions include the following:
Night Watch Small groups (10 people per evening) accompany students to the beach at night to watch the adult female turtles covering up their nests. This is usually available from June 1st to August 1st. Nights can get cold too so make sure to bring warmer clothes along. Excavations Public nest excavations allow visitors to see trained volunteers unearth nest contents, including any remaining live hatchlings. These usually take place around 4pm between August 15th and late September. Depending on the status of the nest after hatching a decision is then made about inviting visitors. Releases These usually take place between August 15th and late September, and allow a small number of visitors to handle and release a hatchling. They are released at night under red light at around 9pm usually. Releases are normally over within half an hour. Sensible footwear should be worn.
Bird Watching
North Cyprus is in a prime position for catching sight of many different species of bird. There are 347 in total, 46 of which are native to Cyprus while 7 are completely unique to the area. Twice yearly youll catch flocks of birds on their migration route, which makes for a beautiful and rare experience. Every March to May is the time of northward migration while August to October is southward. For this reason North Cyprus is a popular location to go bird watching in. There are various locations from which you can get the best views. These include the seductive sandy sliver of the Karpaz peninsula, where much exotic wildlife retreats to. Here are a few example excursions:
Half Day Tour prices from 37 per person (based on 4 sharing) Includes the Mesaria Wetlands only. Early pick-up and lunch-time drop off to hotel. Full Day Tour prices from 56 per person (based on 4 sharing). Includes the Mesaria Wetlands followed by either the Famagusta Wetlands or Korucam Peninsula (can vary). Picnic lunch by the lake or forest included. Full Day Tour to Karpaz prices from 65 per person (based on 4 sharing). Includes Karpaz Peninsula and usually one Wetland visit. Picnic lunch at Zafer Burnu (northern tip of the island) included.
All trips include pick-up and drop off, binoculars, telescopes, cool refreshments, and transportation in an air conditioned 4X4.
Horse Riding
Theres so much wonderful scenery to explore in North Cyprus, and horse riding is a fantastic way to do it. Theres the opportunity to take a guided ride, which will most commonly take place around the West of Kyrenia due to this region boasting many serene spots of undisturbed nature and awe-inspiring surroundings. Youll spend the day navigating through various landscapes, catching picturesque views and stopping for lunch amid the tranquillity of places that feel completely removed from the rest of the world. Some guides may even take you along the beach and really, it doesnt get much more ideal than that!
2 Hour Horse Riding 25 per person. Half Day Horse Riding 35 per person

There are more than 30 different diving sites, giving you a varied choice in locations for seeing the many types of marine life. Famed for its historical qualities also, there are even some fascinating historical sights underwater such as shipwrecks to explore. It is an experience not to be missed. There are many diving centres throughout the island that are run by qualified instructors, and usually a range of courses and programs can be devised for both experienced and beginner divers. Direct Traveller can now help you to pre-book scuba diving before your departure, helping you to plan in advance and devise your ideal diving excursion.

DOWNTOWN KYRENIA
You have just arrived in North Cyprus. After youve settled in to your hotel and had a quick drink at the bar youre ready to get your holiday started, heading to Downtown Kyrenia. The first thing you notice is the marina harbour, its waters aglow with the welcoming lights of restaurants and bars as night falls. To your right is the magnificent Kyrenia castle, defined by streams of orange that set its stony walls ablaze as a strong historical presence. This dates back as far as 111 BC and once played a huge part in the defence of the island, a powerful protector throughout the centuries. It also includes one of the worlds oldest shipwrecks along with the Church of Saint George. You can explore the exhibitions here and admire the Byzantine and Venetian architecture, soaking up an impression of the turbulent past it has endured. Theres the soft mumble of fellow travellers chatting at tables overlooking the sleeping yachts, and you stroll south, through the streets as they gradually illuminate with evening spirit. You spot a large white church, its bell tower noticeable from afar. This was once the Greek Orthodox Church of Archangelos Mikhael, built in 1860. Nowadays it houses the Icon Museum that shows a range of preserved local icons. These provide a fascinating assemblage of culture from Kyrenias colourful heritage. Following the winding cobbled streets further into town youll catch a glimpse of the old bazaar, also known as the Bandabuliya. Once a traditional market place, the ambience is still similar, warm, inviting and excitable with people and restaurants. The market shops are fringed in handcrafted souvenirs, and you pick up some evil eye charms for friends back home (feeling relieved youve got the gifts sorted!) Venturing outside again, the smell of flavoursome cuisine animates the area along with sights of delicious mezze platters and fresh fish amongst groups of diners. Locals invite you in to try some hearty home-cooked dishes, and you sit amongst the scenery of cosy little Tavernas, where locals drink coffee and play back gammon. Life here is much the same as it was many decades ago, still laid back with tradition at its heart. For this reason Kyrenia is a unique place, combining a modern cosmopolitan vibe with the untouched local life that co-exists down backstreets, in homey cafes and through the historical scenery.
EAST OF KYRENIA
The next morning you decide to visit East of Kyrenia, with the Mediterranean climate prompting a beach trip. here lies Alagadi Beach, which is famously a nesting ground for the loggerhead turtles (carretta carretta) and the Green turtles. Due to these being protected species the Alagadi is a calm and unspoilt place, streamed with sun bronzed sand and lapped by a crystalline sea. You spend some time relaxing and cooling off, watching the cute little loggerheads wander beside the shore, and then take a trip to the Korineum Golf and Country Club, which is about 5 miles away. This luxury resort is home to North Cyprus first and only 18 hole golf course, looking out over picturesque coastal views and the mystical five finger mountain. After a game you sit down to a cold drink and some food at the restaurant before retiring to the spa and wellness centre to wind down with a massage. As the day settles into afternoon the air cools slightly and you decide to go sightseeing. The east of Kyrenia is especially peaceful, adorned with olive groves and historical scenery. Most noticeably, Buffavento Castle has a summit towering 950m above sea level. It was built as part of the defence strategies against the Arab raids, guarding an important pass through the mountains. Decent walking shoes are a necessity as its quite a steep walk, though worth it when you see its panoramic views of North Cyprus. The Hazreti Omer is a little walk away from here, but if you feel up to it houses the remains of a 7th century commander and his men, who died defending North Cyprus from Arab raids. It is a slightly eerie, but nevertheless intriguing sight to behold, full of historical wonder.

WEST OF KYRENIA
Still tired from yesterdays sight seeing you want to spend the most part of today relaxing, and where better to go than the West of Kyrenia, with its treasure chest of beaches! You have a choice in environment, with secluded bays offering a more private retreat, or the sociable family friendly coves, offering facilities aplenty. If you decide on the latter then the Escape Beach Club is one of the most popular in the area. It has many opportunities to get involved with water sports, go scuba diving and even play some volleyball. You can sit at the serviced caf, enjoying lunch beside the blend of blue sea and sky stretching out into the distance. Theres the chance to stay here into the night too, with a resident DJ and charismatic bars and eateries vying for your attention. You decide to pass this up though, and leave to see the Ancient city of Lambousa. Founded by the Phoenician Traders in the 8th century B.C. Lambousa is host to three ancient sites nowadays. These include the foundations of a lighthouse, fish pools and a portion of the cities wall that dates all the way back to the 6th century. This is an exciting day site that will illuminate the spirit of the Byzantines. To see the castle that inspired the castle in Disneys film of Snow White, then St Hilarion Castle is an enchanting site in the West also, once used as a defence watchtower. It is full of mystery and legend, its name inspired by a miraculous monk who spent much of his later life living in the mountain that forms the foundations to the castle. This position leaves you feeling on top of the world, with some incredible sights of the rugged mountainous borders and green landscapes of North Cyprus.
BELLAPAIS
Hoping to experience some more of the authentic Cypriot life, you go to Bellapais. The 13th century Bellapais abbey is the first thing to grab your attention in this quaint little village, its gothic architecture an overpowering structure in the centre of the village square that gives a poetic ambience to the sleepy surrounding streets, alight with locals sipping Turkish coffee and selling unique handcrafts. The abbey is also considered to be the most beautiful building in the east and for this reason is a fitting place to be host of the annual Bellapais music festival, providing the perfect atmosphere to illuminate performances. The interior shivers with silhouettes, while the surrounding lush gardens romanticise the scenery. You climb up to the roof and marvel at the awe inspiring views across North Cyprus. Feeling peckish you go to The Tree of Idleness Restaurant, named after the tree of idleness that author Laurence Durrell wrote about in his autobiography, Bitter Lemons. You tuck into some halloumi cheese beneath the 200 year old Robenia tree and start to see what Durrell meant, completely contented amid the drowsy breeze of the environment, and not considering moving anytime soon.

famagusta
You have just arrived in the historically charmed town of Famagusta, and are immediately lulled into an atmosphere of peace and wonder. It was once the wealthiest port in the Mediterranean, and the walled town still maintains a spirit of grandeur through the many artefacts that embellish the landscape.
Salamis
After a good nights sleep, you venture to the Salamis ruins first. Considered to be the greatest ancient city in Cyprus this is a fitting historical site to start with! Dating back to 1100BC most notable points of interest include the basilicas, the forum, an amphitheatre, and the gymnasium and Roman baths that are entered along marble pavements, still alive with the elegance that Salamis once boasted. Leaving the ancient city you continue inland from the entrance and reach St Barnabas Monastery. This was built in the memory of Saint Barnabas, a native of Salamis who inspired the word of Christianity throughout Cyprus. Nowadays it is an icon museum set amongst pretty gardens, with a
beautifully carved water fountain and a historic cloister courtyard that create a peaceful environment. Just onwards are the Royal Tombs where there are reconstructions of bronze horse chariots. There are six major royal tombs in total, though if short on time St Catherines Prison is one not to be missed, belonging to an early Christian martyr of Alexandria. It stands out with a Roman built chapel above the tomb. There is so much to see here that it is impossible to cover everything in a day, so you retire to the hotel for dinner and some live entertainment.

CANCELLATION BY THE CLIENT - Cancellation of your holiday must be notified to us in writing. The cancellation charges for our holidays depend upon when your written notice is received and the loss incurred by you will be as follows (relevant to the total value of the package): More than 70 days Loss of Total Deposit Paid Only 29 - 70 days 60% loss 15- 28 days 80% loss 14 days or less 100% loss The above terms apply for holidays booked on the minimum deposit value of 95 per person. Those booked with higher deposit values such as full flight costs and/or additional components as deposit, will be liable for the total deposit paid plus the additional standard cancellation charges as above. CANCELLATION/ ALTERATION BY US - DT Ltd reserves the right to modify or cancel any holiday, flight schedule, accommodation or other arrangements, in the event that the holiday chosen by the customer cannot be provided for any reason. If the circumstances referred to in the preceding sentence occur before the customers departure, the company undertakes to offer the customer alternative arrangements, or, where there is a major change a full refund of all monies paid. We plan your holiday arrangements many months in advance and although it is unlikely that we have to make any changes to confirmed arrangements, it does occasionally happen. We have prepared our brochure and internet site as accurately as possible. However, there may be occasions where an advertised facility or amenity is not available during your holiday or a hotel is withdrawn without prior notification. If we are aware of the withdrawal of facilities we will try to notify you as soon as possible. There may be occasions where facilities are not available due to government restrictions beyond our control, for which we cannot accept responsibility. Most changes are of a minor nature, and we will advise you (or your travel agent) at the earliest possible date. Should we have to cancel a tour, holiday or other travel arrangements as a result of hostilities, political unrest, or other circumstances amounting to force majeure, we shall inform you or your travel agent as soon as possible and shall offer the choice of an alternative holiday of at least comparable standard, if available, or a prompt and full refund of all money paid. Any such refunds shall be sent to agents within 10 clear days and to direct clients within 14 clear days should we be forced to cancel your holiday for any reason other than force majeure or non-payment of outstanding balance, the company, in addition to refunding all monies paid, will pay compensation as per the table below. Very occasionally we have to change your holiday arrangements after you arrive at the destination. If we do this, we will try to place you in accommodation of the same or higher standard in the same or a similar resort. If we make a major change compensation will be paid referring to the details below: IF WE CHANGE YOUR HOLIDAY - If a major change becomes necessary, we will inform you or your travel agent as soon as it is reasonably possible if there is time before your departure, if not you will be notified upon arrival at the resort. In accordance with EU Regulation 2111/2005 we are required to advise you of the actual carrier operating your flight/connecting flight/ transfer. We do this by confirming air carriers on your confirmation & at time of booking, and also by listing carriers to be used or likely to be used in our brochure. The flights referred to in this brochure are operated by a range of scheduled or charter airlines, using wide or narrow body jet aircraft. Any changes to the actual airline after you have received your tickets will be notified to you as soon as possible and in all cases at check-in or at the boarding gate. Such a change is deemed to be a minor change. Other examples of minor changes include alteration of your outward/return flights by less than 12 hours, changes to aircraft type, change of accommodation to another of the same standard, or substitution of attractions/destinations visited on pre-booked tours or cruises. A major change is one that we make to your holiday arrangements before departure that involves changing your airport(s) (except between Heathrow, Stansted, Luton and Gatwick) and (Manchester, Birmingham) and (Cardiff & Bristol), resort, time of departure or return by more than 12 hours, or offering accommodation with a lower standard than that booked, change of destination (this does not include change of resort where the destination airport remains unchanged), or where the destination airport changes for the same resort. You then have a choice of either: If we Change your Holiday: A. Accepting the changed arrangements as notified to you. B. Purchasing another available holiday from us. C. Cancelling your holiday. If you choose A, or B, we will pay compensation on the scale shown below, if you choose C, we will refund all money paid to us plus compensation on the scale shown below. However, in no case will we pay compensation if the change is due to an event listed in Important Notice below: Period before scheduled departure within which a major change is notified to you (or your travel agent) Compensation per person More than 70 days Nil 43-70 days 10 29 - 42 days 15 15-28 days 20 0-l4 days 25 IMPORTANT NOTICE - Compensation payments do not apply to changes caused by reason of war, or threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, unavoidable technical problems with transport, closure or congestion of airports or ports, closure of border crossings or checkpoints, flight cancellation and similar events beyond our control.
OUR LIABILITY TO YOU - If the contract we have with you is not performed or is improperly performed by us or our suppliers we will pay you appropriate compensation if this has affected the enjoyment of your travel arrangements. However we will not be liable where any failure in the performance of the contract is due to: you; or a third party unconnected with the provision of the travel arrangements and where the failure is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised; or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall. Our liability, except in cases involving death, injury or illness, shall be limited to a maximum of twice the cost of your travel arrangements. Our liability will be limited in accordance with and/or in an identical manner to (a) The contractual terms of the companies that provide the transportation for your travel arrangements. These terms are incorporated into this contract; and (b) Any relevant international convention, for example the Montreal Convention in respect of travel by air, the Athens Convention in respect of travel by sea, the Berne Convention in respect of travel by rail and the Paris Convention in respect of the provision of accommodation, which limit the amount of compensation that you can claim for death, injury, delay to passengers and loss, damage and delay to luggage. We are to be regarded as having all benefit of any limitation of compensation contained in these or any conventions. You can ask for copies of the transport companies' contractual terms, or the international conventions, from our offices (40-42 Hawks Rd, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 3EG. 0844 414 1684). Under EU law (Regulation 261/2004) you have rights in some circumstances to refunds and/or compensation from your EU registered airline in cases of denied boarding, cancellation or delay to flights(at EU destinations). Full details of these rights will be publicised at EU airports and will also be available from airlines. However reimbursement in such cases will not automatically entitle you to a refund of your holiday cost from us. Your right to a refund and/or compensation from us is set out in clause cancellation by the client. If any payments to you are due from us, any payment made to you by the airline will be deducted from this amount. If your airline does not comply with these rules you should complain to the Civil Aviation Authority on 020 7453 6888. FLIGHT DELAYS - In the event of a flight being delayed at EU destinations only, the airlines that DT Ltd uses will arrange for the following to be provided, whenever practical and subject to the airport being able to cater for this: Over 4 hours, an appropriate meal; for delays of at least 8 hours extending beyond midnight, overnight accommodation will be provided wherever possible. However, this will depend on such factors as the expected length of the delay, local availability of accommodation, immigration rulings etc. Where long flight delays result in lost holiday time, no refunds are given by hotels for unused accommodation, as rooms are held for delayed arrivals, not re-let. Similarly airlines do not offer compensation for flight delays. It is in recognition of the above that holiday travel insurance policies normally offer monetary compensation for flight delays under certain circumstances and we advise you contact your travel insurance supplier for such claims PROMPT ASSISTANCE IN RESORT - If the contract we have with you is not performed or is improperly performed as a result of failures attributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of the services, or as a result of failures due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall, and you suffer an injury or other material loss, we will offer you such prompt assistance as is reasonable in the circumstances. EXCURSIONS - Excursions or other tours that you may choose to book or pay for whilst you are on holiday are not part of your package holiday provided by us. For any excursion or other tour that you book, your contract will be with the operator of the excursion or tour and not with us. We are not responsible for the provision of the excursion or tour or for anything that happens during the course of its provision by the operator. Any tours booked (whether in the Uk or abroad) may be unavailable due to local decisions to cancel them for any reason, and at the discretion of the tour manager. DT Ltd is not responsible for this as these decisions are taken locally and are dependent upon conditions prevailing at the time. However, when we are told of significant changes, we will inform you at the time of the booking or, if youve already booked your excursion you will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. CONDITIONS OR CARRIAGE - When you travel with a carrier, the conditions of carriage of that carrier will apply, some of which may limit liability. The conditions of carriage of that carrier are incorporated into this contract. You may ask for copies of the relevant conditions of carriage from our offices. COMPLAINTS - If you have a problem when you are on holiday you must report this immediately to our local representative who will try to prevent your holiday being spoilt. A Complaint Form should be requested by your local representative and filled out. You should record your complaint on a signed Customer Complaint Form during your holiday. Unless there is a valid reason why you failed to report your complaint to our local representative we will not consider ourselves to be liable for those complaints. If a customer disclosure form is completed, and signed whilst in resort this will illustrate that your complaint has been dealt with. The matter cannot then be reinstated on your return back the UK as a satisfactory resolution has been accepted in the resort. If you wish to take your complaint further you should write to our UK Customer Relations Department within 28 days of returning home. If you do not do so, this may affect our ability to investigate complaints and may impact on the way that your complaint is dealt with.
ABTA - We are a Member of ABTA, membership numbeW9805/K8266. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTAs Code of Conduct. We can also offer you an arbitration scheme for the resolution of disputes arising out of this contract. The scheme is arranged by ABTA and administered independently. It is a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on you for costs. The upper limit on claims is 5,000 per person and 25,000 per booking form. The scheme doesnt apply to claims which are solely in respect of physical injury or illness or their consequences. It can however deal with claims which include an element of minor injury or illness subject to a limit of 1,500 on the amount the arbitrator can award per person in respect of this element. Your request for arbitration must be received by ABTA within eighteen months of the date of return from holiday. For injury and illness claims, you can request the ABTA Mediation Procedure and we have the option to agree to mediation. Further information on the Code and ABTAs assistance in resolving disputes can be found on www.abta.com. PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS - It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that passports, visas, vaccination certificates and any other necessary travel documents are valid for the journey(s) to be undertaken, and any fines enforced to our company for this will be the paid by the traveller. Passengers travelling to North Cyprus through the borders of Republic of Cyprus will require a valid EU passport (some other countries may also have a no-visa policy, please call us or the Cyprus Embassy to check this). If you do not hold an EU passport (or do not fall into the no-visa category) you will have to travel via Turkey to Ercan airport. Passengers staying in Turkey will need to purchase a tourist visa upon arrival at the Turkish airport. Visa fees are currently approximately 10 per person for UK passport holders. Other destinations DT Ltd offers may also require visas, and landing fees, and passport duration restrictions; it is your duty to check this before travelling. Some airlines require you to give further advanced passenger information. If you decline to do so, you may be refused boarding by the airline. DT Ltd does not accept responsibility for this. HEALTH MATTERS - Health facilities, hygiene and disease risks vary worldwide. You should take health advice about your specific needs as early as possible. Sources of information include the Department of Health's free leaflet "Health Advice For Travellers", your GP or a specialist clinic. Please note that you are strongly advised against scuba diving for 24hrs before travelling by air. For the most up-to-date essential information on your choice of destination and to ensure you make the most of your trip abroad, we recommend you visit the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) website at www.fco.gov/uk/knowbeforeyougo The Department of Health's website provides a worldwide country-by-country disease and immunization checklist. OUR GUARANTEE OF PRICE/SURCHARGE - Changes in transportation costs, including the cost of fuel dues, taxes or fees chargeable for services such as landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports and exchange rates mean that the price of your travel arrangements may change after you have booked. However there will be no change within 30 days of your departure. We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges. You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus an administration charge of 1.00 per person together with an amount to cover agents commission. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your travel arrangements, you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher quality you will not have to pay more but if it is of lower quality you will be refunded the difference in price), or cancelling and receiving a full refund of all monies paid, except for any amendment charges. We will consider an appropriate refund of insurance premiums paid if you can show that you are unable to transfer or reuse your policy. Should you decide to cancel for this reason, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on your final invoice. Should the price of your holiday go down due to the changes mentioned above, by more than 2% of your holiday cost, then any refund due will be paid to you. However, please note that travel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency and some apparent changes have no impact on the price of your travel due to contractual and other protection in place. The price of your travel arrangements was calculated using exchange rates quoted in the Financial Times Guide to World Currencies on [01 November 2012] in relation to the following currencies: [Sterling, Euros, New Turkish lira, US dollars] TRAVEL INSURANCE - It is a condition of booking that you take the holiday insurance we recommend or arrange insurance yourself offering comparable or better cover. We do not accept any liability for you not taking out the relevant insurance, and it is up to you to ensure you have valid and effective cover. JURISDICTION - This contract is made on the terms of these booking conditions, which are governed by English Law, and the jurisdiction of the English Courts. You may however, choose the law and jurisdiction of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you wish to do so. VALIDITY & RESPONSIBILITY - This brochure is valid from 1st December 2012 to 31st October 2013, or until a revised version is printed and is based on the sole responsibility of DT Ltd and does not commit the airlines, transportation companies and hotels etc. mentioned therein. Your statutory rights are not affected. Date of Publication: 01 December 2012 There may be occasions where at the time of booking we agree to changes to the contract terms. Other than this, no travel agent can change the terms of the contract which includes any statements appearing in the brochure, including descriptions of any accommodation without our specific agreement.
BROCHURE DETAIL - In accordance with the Package Travel Regulations 1992, we reserve the right to make changes to the particulars of this brochure after publication. YOUR FINANCIAL PROTECTION - We provide full financial protection for our package holidays. 1. For flight-based holidays this is through our Air Travel Organisers Licence number [5819]. When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists the flight, accommodation, car hire and/or other services that are financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. We will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where we arent able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable). 2. When you buy a package holiday that doesnt include a flight, protection is provided by way of a bond held by ABTA. For further information please see www.abta.com. FLIGHT ONLY BOOKINGS Flight only bookings are non exchangeable and non refundable, with airfares required at time of reservation. If there are changes required for your booking, we will try our best to assist you, however flights are subject to airlines airfare ticket rules, and so this is not guaranteed. If it is possible to change a flight, this will be subject to the airlines own airfare penalties, airfare class difference, and also an administration fee of 35 per person from DT Ltd. Most tickets are non refundable and non exchangeable, which means that DT Ltd cannot make any changes on your behalf for these. In this instance, the client is liable for any charges (up to 100% loss) or fees linked to amendments, which may include purchasing and issuing new tickets. As we are not in control of the airline, we do not accept any responsibility for any missed flights, delayed flights or any other, as a result of any changes imposed by the airlines or any other third party. It is your responsibility to re-confirm your flights with the airline you are travelling with, and also to check that the flight departure times of your flight have not changed before your departure day. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS - Your travel documents will whenever possible be dispatched to you approximately 10 days prior to departure. If you are to collect your travel tickets at the airport due to a late booking or for any other reason we will give you a reference to quote in order to obtain the travel tickets. Tickets that are picked up at the airport, are referred to as Tickets on departure and usually have extra charges linked to them. These charges will vary from one airline carrier or operator to another, but you will be notified of this at the relevant time if applicable by our consultants. DISABLED CLIENTS - We are happy to advise disabled clients and to assist them when choosing their holiday and we will do our best to meet their needs. Such accommodation may be selected because of their layout; they have disabled rooms, lifts, or ramps. Before making a reservation as a disabled client we ask that you speak to our consultants for their advice on your specific disability. If you or any member of your party has any medical problems or disability which may affect your holiday, we must be informed at the time of enquiry and in writing when the booking is made. We cannot assume the extent of anybodys disability, and so if we are not notified of the specific requirements of the disabled person, we regret that we cannot accept any liability if accommodation is not to the full extent expected by the client. If we believe we are unable to accommodate the particular needs of the person concerned to their satisfaction, we reserve the right to decline or cancel their booking. ACCOMMODATION - Accommodation is not graded by international star ratings and cannot be compared to the rest of Europe. The ratings in this brochure are given as a guide for you to help make the correct accommodation choice, they are not official ratings, and are based on feedback and our own audits. The ratings are there to offer a comparable guide to accommodations in the destination. Self-catering varies at each accommodation. Cooking facilities are enough to prepare meals, but generally not the facilities found in a home. All accommodation water and electricity supplies can fluctuate and cupboards can be limited. We show the facilities and entertainments mentioned in the brochure in good faith (shops, bars, restaurants and swimming pools) and are generally available. On occasion facilities may be unavailable due to local decisions to close them for any reason, and at the discretion of the accommodation management. DT Ltd is not responsible for this as these decisions are taken locally and are dependent upon conditions prevailing at the time. This is often reflected in the winter pricing for accommodation. During local or national holidays, certain facilities such as museums or shops may be limited. Such events are regrettably beyond our control. However, when we are told of significant changes, we will inform you at the time of the booking or, if youve already booked your holiday you will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. On rare occasions, hotels may be host to events such as weddings, concerts, conferences, conventions, or similar. This decision to host such an event is solely made at the discretion of the hotelier. If DT Ltd is informed of any such events, we will notify you if we have time to do so before your departure. DT Ltd does not accept responsibility for any loss of enjoyment, or negative effects of your travels due to such events. Note that room types are described using local terms. For example bungalow may refer to split-level accommodation, and unless specifically stated in the brochure description accommodation villas/mini-villas/ bungalows/apartments may not include self catering facilities. Deluxe or Superior category rooms are sometimes used by hotels as the formal names of their room types. The standard of deluxe and superior room types can vary from hotel to hotel.
Most properties in our brochure offer a selection of twin and doublebedded accommodation. Although units may be described as twin, they will be provided according to availability. If you have a specific preference for twin or double beds, or would prefer single-level accommodation, we will endeavour to meet these requirements. However, it is vital that you inform us at the time of booking. Please note that some accommodations do not allow you to bring food or drink, from outside into their premises. Most hotels are reasonable on this rule and where there is self catering accommodation, this is not applicable, but it is at the discretion of the hotelier if this is enforced DT Ltd cannot take responsibility for any circumstances surrounding such a rule in any given accommodation.
