ASSURANCE:
Maryellen Salter, Assurance Director:
Responsible for the direction of the Assurance group. Has a lead responsibility to ensure the council meets the highest standards of governance, risk management, probity and the democratic processes. Ensures that sound governance principles are embedded across the organisation and its partners. Functional areas of responsibility include internal audit, risk management, anti-fraud, elections, governance and the direct link for members in terms of allowances and training and development.

Caroline Glitre, Head of Internal Audit and Corporate Anti-Fraud:


Internal audit responsible for implementing and delivering the internal audit plan for the year and directing resources to that end. Anti Fraud responsible for setting the approach to anti fraud, including training across the council on fraud related prevention and detection strategies.

Lead the short, medium and long term business planning process pulling together commissioning plans and budget setting activity Act as a policy lead for Barnets operations and technical elements of the commissioning process Ensuring that the appropriate resources are put in place to support the programme of activity agreed by the Commissioning Group and that this programme is efficiently and effectively run to deliver change. Lead the councils major contractual relationships on behalf of the Strategic Commissioning Board Be the lead negotiator Ensure that the performance of all delivery units (external, arms length and internal) is effectively managed Lead the team that manages the councils major commercial relationships Lead the development of the councils commercial strategy and advise Lead commissioners and internal Delivery Unit Leads on commercial strategy related to commissioning.

Stephen Evans, Commissioning Strategy Assistant Director:


Links together the work of each of the lead commissioners to support the delivery of crosscutting outcomes, strategies and commissions Identifies and delivers solutions to problems across the system, in relation to both the development and delivery of commissions Acts as an advisor to the Chief Executive and provides a single point of contact for keeping them updated on issues, problems and developments across the organisation.

ADULTS AND COMMUNITIES:


Dawn Wakeling, Adults and Communities Director:
Has accountability for translating corporate objectives into the successful development and delivery of medium term operating plans in collaboration with other delivery units and partners Is a lead for Adult and Community Services and identify/manage stakeholders to develop effective collaborative working arrangements to achieve high quality customer-focused service outcomes Promotes the delivery of integrated health and social care services through the Barnet Health and Wellbeing Board and the Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group. and brief the Cabinet Member with responsibility for Community Safety on the Safer Communities Partnership in Barnet Leads the development of social care commissioning plans which deliver the medium-term financial strategy objectives for adult social care, promotes joint commissioning with the NHS and achieves the objectives set by the Commissioning Group ensures that there is effective information and advice on adult social care and wellbeing services, and specifically leisure services, to support the delivery of the Barnet Health and Wellbeing Strategy and to ensure a universal information and advice offer is in place for Barnets diverse residents.

Karen Jackson, Adult Social Care Assistant Director:


Leads the delivery of all adult social care services and disability services, ensuring that there is effective assessment of local needs, and delivery of a range of local services to meet needs, user and carer choice and adhere to quality and regulatory standards Provides professional leadership for Adult Social Care functions, including workforce planning for social care staff both within the council and within provider organisations Acts as the senior manager overseeing the contract and relationship with Your Choice Barnet and is the designated lead for the section 75 Integrated Learning Disability Agreement with the NHS.

Jon Dickinson, Head of Integrated Care Older and Disabled People:


Leads the management of all services for older people and physically disabled people for the council. provides a high quality multi-disciplinary social care service to older and disabled people that promotes independence, choice and control carries out key responsibilities including safeguarding adults at risk, best interests assessments and the Deprivation of Liberty Service.
