Bonnie Day (Box 5327) INTE 394 Mr. Blount Feb. 12, 2013 Learning Objectives 1.

To learn the different niches within auditing (Real Estate, Manufacturing, Health care, etc.) that McKonly & Asbury works within and discover the field that I feel best suits me. a. Resources/Activities: i. Interviewing 3 staff members within different niches. ii. Look through a binder of clients in different fields and observe the different procedures. iii. Read about the real estate, healthcare, and manufacturing industries using various online sources. b. Evaluation/Verification: i. Write a narrative explaining each industry. ii. Write a reflection after each industry explaining if I could or could not see myself working within this industry and why. 2. To have a clarified understanding of the auditing process. a. Resources/Activities: i. Read auditing requirements within the binder. ii. Ask questions about the purpose behind the work that I am doing. iii. Complete an audit on my own. b. Evaluation/Verification: i. Write a weekly reflection based on the work Ive completed. ii. Include a copy of the work paper notes included with my work and a brief reflection on how these helped me to learn and develop as an auditor. 3. To experience the culture of M&A, evaluating them as a potential employer and working to fit into the culture. a. Resources/Activities: i. Participate in at least 2 M&A activities outside of the work that I do for my internship. ii. Talk to at least 3 employees about their experience with M&A and why they chose to work there. iii. Develop relationships and friendships with other employees. iv. Attending firm meetings. b. Evaluation/Verification: i. Pictures of me while participating in an activity or event. ii. Reflective narrative on my time with the M&A experience. 4. Become more acquainted with working in a professional atmosphere and learn to develop confidence and poise in how I portray myself as a young professional. a. Resources/Activities:

i. Communicating in a concise and professional manner through email and Lync (instant messaging program). ii. Learn to effectively manage my time and use effective organizational techniques. iii. Asking intelligent and clear questions when I am unsure of how to accomplish a task. b. Evaluation/Verification: i. You Rock Notes and messages sent from people at my internship. ii. An example of my schedule, or a to-do list from a typical day of work. 5. Gain a better understanding of an auditors interactions with clients, and learn best practices for client communication and engagement. a. Resources/Activities: i. Go on at least 1 field audit experience. ii. Sit in on an interview of an employee during an engagement. iii. Sit in on a meeting for client engagement planning. b. Evaluation/Verification: i. Type a draft of sample questions that I have used to interview a client. ii. Reflective narrative for each client visit.
