Election 2013 in Pakistan

Election is a formal and organized process of electing political members through public vote casting. Public elect the political members for some type of position in government. Plato said, One of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. The selection of political members through public voting and favor is called democracy. Vote is a power of every citizen of a country to secure his/her rights like education, residence, employment, freedom etc. Every citizen possesses the equal rights to cast vote either young .old, man or woman. Election is the process which develops and precedes the democracy in the state or a country, if it is fair and transparent. As Thomas Jefferson, the third American President said, "A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine." The 2013 elections are around the corner, and this is the time when all the political parties start their struggles to gain popular support. However, the voting behavior of the people depends on various factors. Government of Pakistan is establishing through elections. Pakistan is considered a so called democratic state. However its elections held transparently but the voting is hugely corrupted. The candidates show their patriotism before elections and start campaigns, raised patriotic slogans to persuade people for voting. They vow to fulfill all the basic needs of masses but after selection they forget their vows and fulfill only their own pockets. The wealthy candidates can win through purchasing votes. Once they win then they get back their money with profit.. The landowners or the hereditary politicians consider themselves eligible to rule over Pakistans politics. Thats why the educated people cannot come front as the voice of common people. Money guarantees the success in election of Pakistan. The reason is poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and dishonesty of politicians during reigning time period .Therefore eligible candidates had never selected. Pakistan is considered as a failed democratic country. For the first time in the history of Pakistan government has completed its five years of reigning. People have strong attachment with their ethnicities, and they tend to vote for the candidates belonging to their ethnic group in their area. Pathaan ,Punjabi ,sindhi , balochi and kashmiri vote for their affiliated candidates irrespective of the circumstances and previous aftermaths .Predicting the results of the 2013 elections is not an easy task. Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Mr Imran Khan is very hopeful that his party will clean sweeps the upcoming elections. No doubt the way he has led the political campaign across the country to gain public support is commendable. But that alone is not the deciding factor. Throughout the electoral history, the two major ruling parties PPP and PML-N have enjoyed popular support in their electorates. Punjab has always remained a voting source for PML-N and Sindh for PPP. Similarly MQM has always enjoyed power over Karachi and Hyderabad, the Muhajir majority regions. None of the political party can bring the change until there is no strong political commitment. The elections play a vital role in the development and progress of any country .Because it can turn the tables and bring revolution if the public make the right choice sincerely.
