Commissioned by the Board of Directors to provide turnaround executive leadership and operational management of this fifty year-old association of academics and clinicians integrating faith with professional practice. CAPS is an approved provider of continuing education by the American Psychological Association (APA) and National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), and is the nations oldest and largest nonprofit association of Christians in the behavioral sciences. Restructured the organization and staffing to turn a $22,000 deficit in 2004 to a $67,000 surplus in 2007. Expanded continuing education approvals, increasing membership appeal. Established additional revenue streams through publishing and advertising, and reduced cash flow volatility by changing the membership year. Reorganized national structure by eliminating regional chapters, and refocused membership around professional development communities (PDCs) and disciplinary interest groups. Increased conference profitability through staffing improvements and technology innovations. 10/2011 to 11/2012 (Position eliminated due to organizational restructuring)

VNA HEALTH CARE - AURORA, IL Associate Vice President of Clinic Services

Responsible for successful site operations of two federally-qualified health centers (FQHC) in Elgin, Illinois, including sitespecific staff, quality of services, patient satisfaction, policy and process development, budget development, fiscal stability and community outreach. Lead the health center through its first Joint Commission Accreditation. Managed the transition in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems from Misys to GE Health Cares Centricity platform, serving as a superuser for both the EHR and Practice Management components of the system. Opened a second FQHC with a projected annual service provision of 18,000 patient encounters in the first year. Penetrated new patient communities and opened new markets, particularly among Medicaid, Medicare and Self-Pay populations.

Recruited back to this $12 million international refugee and relief organization to serve as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer during a time of organizational transition and financial stress. Ensured operational support for teams established in 210 locations in 66 countries, and with a staff of 360 employees. Provided point leadership that stabilized the organization, implemented succession planning, and turned the organization from a ten year history of deficit spending to two consecutive years of year-end surplus. Revised Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws to maximize revenue generation capabilities while avoiding UBIT. Reallocated campus space to realize $200,000 in additional rental income per year. Restructured debt, secured more favorable financing, and brought organization from the verge of a going concern audit opinion to two consecutive years of revenue surplus. Spearheaded staff reductions and personnel adjustments that resulted in annual savings of $240,000 and put the organization in a surplus position for the first time in over a decade. 04/2003 to 01/2005

Provided contracted services for multiple nonprofit organizations around matters of program design, project management, resource development and grant writing. Provided program design and grant writing for a multi-year smoking cessation proposal of the University of Massachusetts Lowell that was funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services for $800 thousand. STEWARDS MINISTRIES - BARRINGTON, IL President & Chief Executive Officer Served as Chief Executive Officer of this private foundation providing gifts and grants in North America and overseas. Oversaw invested assets in excess of $41 million, and an annual budget of approximately $3 million. Led the organization and its constituency through a $30 million civil lawsuit, coordinating the efforts of organizational and litigating attorneys, and securing acquittal on all counts. Rebalanced $41 million in long-term investments, and strategized spending patterns in a $3 million budget, to insure adequate cash flow throughout the year.
