Chapter 1 First Weight Estimation


1. Mission Requirement: Military operations like where there is no source of communication we can communicate between small troupes by sending R C aircraft mounted with high resolution aerial camera along with antenna so that through antenna we can communicate by receiver and by camera we can see the physical condition there.

The weight estimation formula for the aircraft is given as follows: =

The table 1 represents the motor weight corresponding propeller dimension available while the Table 2 represents the motor used in the various RC aircraft available. After doing this historical survey, we have reached to the conclusion that it is the propulsion system i.e. motor which decides the other specification of the RC aircraft. The average weight of the motor is around 200 250 gm with a reasonable power. Hence we have decided to choose a one particular motor of sufficient power and start designing the other components based on the power available from the motor. 2. 4. Conclusion: Based on the above result which is done by the iteration and the plots form the historical survey, we have reached to the results that the initial gross weight of the RC aircraft will be nearly 1170gm. 5.
