PILE DRIVING WORKS METHOD STATEMENT Part 1 Name of Company: ENKA Name of Supervisor in Charge: Yunus Emre Sahin Numbers and discipline(s) of Personnel carrying out the Task(s): 1 Engineer, 2 Riggers, 1 Welder 1 Labor Part 2 Definitions of the Work Scope (see attach drawings): Precast Pile Driving Works 2.1 This specification describes the execution of precast driven piles in order to transfer the structure loads down to hard strata. 2.2 This specification for outlines the required materials, equipment, method and procedure for execution. 2.3 The section and the design loads of precast driven piles are determined by contractor. 2.4 The effective length and structural details of driven precast piles are designed by contractor. 2.5 Working pile load test shall be applied on a Working Driven Precast Pile up to 1.5 times the design load in case of requirement to verify pile capacity of executed piles at site. 2.6 The driven precast concrete pile details are as follows; Pile Section (mm) 350 x 350 Effective Length (m) 15.50 Pile Length (m) 9+9=18 Quantity 900

2.7 The joint of bottom part and upper part shall be done by welding as per IQ303-000-C3-00000-0001 Precast Reinforcement Details. Part 2A The procedure for the construction of driven precast concrete piles with a diesel hammer comprises the following key elements: Unloading of precast piles at designated area Inspection of precast piles after delivery to the piling location. Surveying and setting up at the pile location. Lifting and driving the bottom part of precast concrete piles safely down to the platform level. Lifting the upper part of precast concrete pile by a service crane and joining by welding. Driving of bottom part down to the final project level. Housekeeping

Sequence of work Activity 1 Unloading of precast piles at designated piling points. Unloading the precast piles with steel slings at pile location

Activity 2 Inspection of the precast piles after delivery to the piling location. Activity 3 Visual inspection of the piles shall be done as per related ITP. Also inspection marking the piles at every 25 cm. Surveying and setting up at the pile location Pile location will be marked as per the approved drawing by the surveyor. The pile points shall be fixed using coordinate system. Facilities shall be provided to inspector for the checking of pile points. The pile points shall be marked with steel pegs. After checking of points the steel stick will be driven into the ground to protect it from getting disturbed.

Activity 4 Lifting and driving the bottom part of the precast concrete piles safely down to the platform level. Upon receiving the piles at the location where to install, they will be placed under the hammer by a certified steel rope by another service crane, once the pile has been fixed to the hammer, the sling belt will be lowered as the pile head hammer starts to drive the precast piles. After driving of the lower part has been completed, the piling rig will then be moved so that the upper part can be fixed and welded. All precast concrete piles shall be driven with a leader guides, which will ensure proper and exact location, and verticality of the piles. Positional tolerance shall be within 75 mm. Special timber cushion or alike will be used on top of the piles in order to prevent the probable damage during hammering. The pile will be driven by hammer into its position within the specified verticality tolerances given in specification of project.

Activity 5 Lifting the upper part of precast pile by a service crane and joining by welding The upper part of the precast pile will then be lifted and fixed on the lower pile by welding. A rope will be tied on the sling belt attached on the service crane making it easy to pull down. Welded connection plates on the upper pile shall be protected and carefully placed on lower pile to prevent damages prior to welding. After the completion of welding the piling rig will continue the driving of the precast pile. The upper part of the pile will be placed on top of the bottom part of the pile by means of a service crane and after that it shall be joined by welding as per IQ303-000-C3-000-00-0001 Precast Reinforcement Details.

Activity 6 Driving of pile down to the final project level. The upper part of the pile will be placed on top of the bottom part of the pile by means of a service crane and after that it shall be joined by welding as per IQ303-000-C3-000-000001 Precast Reinforcement Details. After completion of welding, piling rig will be relocated and drive the remaining portion continuously until the specified depth has been reached or specified refusal criteria are attained. Piles shall be driven without interruption. The term refusal means that the sufficient numbers of blows, require to

reach the desired load capacity, related to the type of hammer used, is achieved. The number of blows are counted and recorded for each 0,25 meters of penetration during driving If unexpected ground conditions exist, it will be reported immediately. Also unexpected changes in driving characteristics will be recorded. This means that the pile has met very hard hard strata not mentioned in the soil report. Piles will undergo redesign and will be discussed later on. Activity 7 Acceptance of piles by testing

Prior to the commencement of any acceptance test all the test method statements will be submitted for approval. Static load test shall be carried out on the working driven precast piles. If required, necessary pile cap shall be casted on the piles minimum 7 days before the performance of test.

Activity 8 Recording of pile reports for each pile The records shall comprise the following information for each pile. All information regarding obstructions, delays, interruptions to the sequence of work shall also be recorded. Pile number, location and installation date Identification Ground level Pile toe and top level Pile dimensions and length Starting and ending time No of blow records every 25 cm against depth. Remarks.
