Reflection: This piece was a look at the processes I went through to make my electronic portfolio. I thought that this reflection was a great closer to all of the projects that we had made throughout the semester and put into the portfolio.

Dear Andrew Letter: This was an introduction to Dr. Andrew I created at the beginning of the semester. I thought this was a great way to start out the semester.

Image Check: This was a mini-analysis completed on three pictures found on the internet. This activity was to prepare for analyzing our pictures for the image project. I thought this was a good beginner activity and introduced the class smoothly to analyzing other pictures.

Peer Feedback on image choices: This was advice given by a peer of mine based on the initial pictures I chose for my image project. I got out of it that most of my ideas work, but sometimes they need a bit of critiquing to work.

Sticky Notes: These notes were used to narrow down the pictures I used for the image project. I got out of this that I cannot simply ask one person for advice. Other people have varying opinions about your work when they critique it. TRACE practice: This was one of the first encounters with the TRACE Analysis method, and it was used on an image of a modern Rosie the Riveter. I thought this was a good exercise to introduce the class to TRACE and PARADIGM for the image project.

PARADIGM practice: This was one of the first encounters with the PARADIGM Analysis method, and it was used on an image of a young man wearing an empty bag of skittles taped over his mouth in regard to the case about Trayvon Martin. I got out of this that there was many pieces of information I did not know about a piece until I actually looked. It made the piece fuller to know more about it and the reason why it was made. Image Project: This was a project done after selecting 10 images from the internet with a similar power represented between all of them. I created a website to present all of the steps that were done for the project. I thought this was a fun project to do. It was writing intensive, but it did not feel that way due to the way we did the different pieces in intervals of class time and not all at once.

Annotated Bibliography Project: This project was a research paper formatted as an annotated bibliography. My project was on the health benefits of video games, and I thought it was a fun project with a new, interesting way of presenting the material.

Proposal: The proposal was the start of the project where we wrote a paper regarding what topic we wished to research that had some sort of power behind it. I thought that the proposal was a good way of combing writing a paper and expressing what you wished to write about later on.

Codices task: This task was with a partner where you would look at three sources from another persons project and use a system of checks to see if the sources were excellent or not. I thought this was a great, but strange way of checking sources before using them. I had never used this method before, and it is helpful especially for online sources.

Solomon's task: This piece was a self-analysis of the sources I chose to use in my annotated bibliography. I thought this was useful to critique my own choices of sources and to see if they are actually as good as I think they are. Intervention (Allison's episode or substitute) questions task: This task was where a two peers and I looked at three quotes from Allison and argued whether they were true or not. This was one of the first pre-argument activities the class did, and I thought that the quotes made really good argument pieces. All three of them had different responses from the group and I.

Hoarding (in-class or substitute) questions task: These questions were asked before I watched an episode of hoarders and I answered them afterward. I came to the conclusion that Lisas situation was more disturbing in that particular episode. I had never really considered why I thought something was disturbing before this episode. I thought this activity was random until I realized it related to arguments and that this was another pre-argument piece.

Argument notes with pre-process on topic: These notes were specifically related to what an argument actually is and how they are resolved. The questions asked after the notes related to the annotated bibliography and argument project. I thought these questions really helped lead in to making an argument regarding my annotated bibliographys research. Rogerian Argument Project: This project was based on the annotated bibliographys research and was an argument I made from the information I found. I got out of this that once you have all the information about a topic you are able to understand both perspectives of that argument.

A First Wild Card -- Academic in origin: This piece was an essay I wrote about The Canterbury Tales and how the Wife of Baths personality is similar to that of a modern celebrity. I got out of this piece my first experience with adding my bibliography and works cited to the end of the paper. This was also the first time I actually had to read another article and add quotes from the piece into my essay. A Second Wild CardNon-Academic in origin: This piece is actually my service learning reflection essay I wrote to graduate from high school. However, the activity with the hot air balloon I really enjoyed and have a link with more information about it. I got out of this experience that even helping someone smile even once makes your heart soar. I have been doing the hot air balloon activity has long has it has visited Raleigh, NC.
