Classes were six days a week, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. This appointment required government clearance and great professionalism. At the end of the course, students were given an exam, with each scoring at a 1+ level. February 2013 - present Twice a week, I meet with an English language learner from Korea to help her develop her communicative competence. Based on her specific language strengths and struggles, I developed and lead informal speaking activities, adapting my approach as I discovered more about the way she learns. instructor hosted a series of extensive, collaborative interviews with me about my experiences as a language learner and how those experiences motivate my professional interests. That data propelled the development of an elaborate case study with the aim of using my learner history to inform second language teaching practices in the Monterey community.
