JOB DESCRIPTION POST: RESPONSIBLE TO: SALARY: Responsible for: Sessional tutors and Volunteers XXX Project Worker XXX Manager

Purpose of the job: To contribute to the effective functioning of the XXX Projects, responsible for the day-to-day delivery of stimulating and therapeutic activities identified and developed with XXX people to meet their needs. To provide opportunities, encouragement and support to XXX people using the services so that individual potential may be recognised. XXX enjoys an open and participative working environment. Key Result Areas XXX 1. To contribute to all aspects of the day to day operation of the XXX projects including the delivery and development of a daily programme of activities. 2. To support XXX people using the projects to take full part in all activities through support and encouragement. 3. To build and maintain positive relationships with XXX people using the services. 4. To be involved in the development of activities, taking a lead role in delivery as determined by the XXX Manager. 5. To assist the XXX manager in the planning of, and to participate in, outings, trips and other special events. 6. To assist people whop use the service in all aspects of their physical and personal care when necessary, maintaining their dignity, privacy and independence. 7. To participate in the preparation, serving and clearing away of meals and light refreshments as necessary.

8. To maintain accurate and up to date service user and activity records and evaluations as requested by the XXX manager. 9. To ensure that centres are maintained at high levels of cleanliness in accordance with centre procedures and Health and Safety regulations. 10. To contribute to the support provided to sessional workers and tutors, students and volunteers. 11. To work in partnership with a variety of external agencies to promote the service. Carry out administrative duties in connection with the post Provide statistical information in relation to monitoring requirements Contribute to the overall achievement of XXX mission and objectives Provide a supportive working environment to all staff and volunteers Ensure the values of XXX are upheld across the organisation Attend supervision, staff and team meetings as requested To undertake research and contribute to reports Undertake any other duties as determined by the Senior Management Team and Directors Promotion of a Supportive Working Environment A supportive working environment can be defined as an environment where contribution is recognised, encouraged and rewarded. Staff and volunteers alike expect to be encouraged to develop personally and professionally and to acquire new skills at a pace that is suitable to them. All staff and volunteers must promote this environment as part of their roles and responsibilities. Training and Development Training and development of staff and volunteers is a key expectation of all staff employed by the organisation. They will demonstrate their commitment to staff and/or volunteer development by assessing skills, planning development activities, discussing outcomes and evaluating effectiveness. They will be expected to motivate, encourage, coach and support staff and/or volunteers towards the outcomes agreed.

PERSON SPECIFICATION The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate empathy for our service users and be committed to the promotion of a supportive working environment. All posts within the organisation are subject to change as the organisation grows and develops. Staff must be able to adapt to change and, therefore, flexibility is a key attribute required of all employees. It is essential that the postholder has the following experience: Experience of delivering activities with groups in a community based, XXX or educational setting. Experience of working with XXX or vulnerable people. Experience of liaising with a variety of different partner agencies

It is essential that the post holder has the following skills and abilities The ability to plan and deliver a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities that will encourage the community to become involved Ability to communicate effectively with XXX people, colleagues and other professionals Ability to work on own initiative, to manage own workload and to prioritise effectively, but identify when there is a need for advice / support and positively seek this Ability to respond sensitively to individuals personal needs Ability to work flexibly as circumstances demand

It is desirable that the postholder has: Knowledge or understanding of challenges facing XXX people and related issues Ability to lead XXX activities

Other Able to travel within XXX The successful applicant will be required to have an enhanced CRB Check
