XXX JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Salary: Hours of Work: Responsible to: Responsible for: Job Purpose: A. To provide an IT support service to XXX to make most of developments in computer software and hardware that will enable the organisation to effectively and efficiently fulfil its aims and objectives. To develop a locally based IT support service which will similarly enable local voluntary and community groups take advantage of the benefits of modern ICT technology Main Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Under the direction of the Head of Business Development develop and implement an ICT strategy for XXX and, where appropriate, the voluntary and community sector. Liaise with partner organisations as necessary. 2. Under the direction of the Head of Business Development develop and support the implementation of an ICT policy for XXX. 3. Advise XXX and its managers on the purchase of computer hard ware and software and purchase same, having regard to value for money. Identify any consequential training needs and facilitate provision where appropriate. 4. Ensure the provision and maintenance of network facilities and servers as required at all XXX premises, and that back up operations for IT data are implemented. 5. Ensure all ICT equipment is properly maintained and manage any resultant contracts ensuring value for money. 6. To be responsible for the purchase, installation, maintenance and subsequent management of any telephony equipment. Advise users of its facilities. 7. Advise staff on hardware and software problems. 8. Develop and maintain a web site for XXX and, in consultation with the Information and Marketing Officer, assist authorised users make full use of it. 9. Provide ICT advice and support to voluntary and community groups as appropriate. 10. To work with communities in accessing and utilising digital technologies in the furtherance of promoting social cohesion, inclusion, and cultural expression 11. Take a lead in the setting up of a social enterprise to provide ICT technical advice and support to voluntary and community groups.
