Ecommerce Startup Internship Description: True Goods is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working interns for our Ecommerce Startup Internship Program! We will be bringing in a group of students across all parts of the business to gain experience in our fast-paced socially responsible and quality curated e-commerce organization to join our close-knit team of start-up professionals. The Reaearch Internship will provide hands-on exposure to the world of market research, impact assessment and consumer behavior, offering a solid foundation for those looking to pursue a career in marketing, environmental research, or related fields. Interns will be part of a small team of seasoned startup professionals and learn the ins and outs of our business. Candidates will assist in the execution of market research projects both qualitative and quantitative across a range of topics and explore complex health and environmental issues associated with toxic chemicals and human/environmental safety. They will also research market trends and consumer sentiment related to greenwashing practices, eco-consciousness, organic products, and online retail spending behaviors, among many other hot topic issues. Interns will be key members of the core business teams, working directly with the CEO and the Marketing/Product Development Director to help manage multiple projects and providing research that supports the marketing, education, editorial and product safety efforts of True Goods. Interns will be performing the following tasks: - Compiling, retrieving and analyzing proprietary research data - Assisting in the development of research documents and initiatives, and providing updates when needed - Helping to develop surveys, analyze data, and package results - Assisting with other department projects and activities as needed - Reviewing and summarizing toxicology, environmental health, product safety, and eco-related data to generate/update internal product safety standards guide and proprietary assessment tools - Reviewing and proofing of data sheets and internal reference guides - Participate on weekly team meetings/calls Skills and attributes interns are expected to have: - Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, and independent self-starters - Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills - Must enjoy working with, analyzing, and synthesizing data, numbers, and trends - Have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines faithfully, and do it all with an uncompromising attention to detail and a firm commitment to quality. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency working with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel - Healthy addiction to the Internet and current cultural trends a must - A strong interest and familiarity with safe/non-toxic, eco-conscious products and healthy living/lifestyle factors a huge bonus - Innovative, self-motivated, socially-conscious, collaboratively driven team player - Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to enhance our research strategies

The Fine Print: All internships are either paid or for academic credit, and will provide qualified students and adults with relevant professional skills in various areas related to startups, ecommerce, environmental health, social responsibility, retail product management, online editorial, and marketing/communications. If seeking for-credit positions, candidates should be enrolled in an accredited school and be able to provide proof of school credit for the internship. It is the applicants responsibility to set up the internship with their school. Prefer candidates with a major in Environmental Health, Human Toxicology, Investigative Journalism, Corporate Social Responsibility, or Marketing/Communications, or equivalent, looking to learn and gain experience in the field.
