F.P. Report LAHORE: Speakers on the eve of Quaid Day have said that Quaid-e-Azam wanted Pakistan to be an Islamic democratic welfare state in which rule of law is observed. This was said by the speakers in a seminar held in celebration of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah 136th birth anniversary here on Tuesday at TECH Society Club, Lahore. On the occasion Justice (r) Sharif Hussain Bokhari said that Pakistan came into being due to unprecedented sacrifices of our ancestors. He said it was a big challenge for then Muslim leadership to attain a separate part pf land for Muslims of Sub-continent. With their heroic struggle and determination, our leaders performed this duty, he said. Prof. Dr. Khwaja Amjad Saeed said that Jinnah's Pakistan was neither secular nor a theocratic one. He held the view that Quaid-e-Azam always emphasized the need of social equality, justice and fair play. Today's Pakistan is in dire need of a leadership which conceives Quaid's exact ideology. He said nation's destiny was dependent on right interpretation of Pakistan ideology and its execution. He also lamented that unfortunately, present leadership of Pakistan proceeded to USA or England even if a minor stomach ache is felt and that too on official expense while downtrodden people are not able to get basic needs of life like food and shelter. Focus of Quaid's ideology of Pakistan was the welfare of common people for which they stressed on the economic development and education as the basis of public policies, he added. Speakers also expressed that Patel - the Hindu politician who claimed that Pakistan could not survive for more than 6 months, but it sustained due to migration of best brain from India to Pakistan and then Pakistan would stand forever. Reoffering Quaid's quote they stated that no country could build up without satisfying the needs of public at large. Pakistan is rich in natural resources but speed of development in this sector is very slow as compared to other countries of the world. Quaid-e-Azam in his address to students said that they should focus on their study, respect of the parents, elders, teachers and development of their country to achieve their real objectives of education, they underscored. Quaid-e-Azam was neither supporter of socialist nor secular system but Islamic economic system. Speakers also emphasized that minorities and majorities all should respect the constitution of Pakistan because in case of bilateral disputes law of the land decides the fate. We are shameful in front of Quaid-e-Azam because poor people of Pakistan are commiting suicides due to poverty elevation and mafia driven political system, speakers expressed.
