"A Friend I will not call you a rose,

For roses do decay, And your beauty is eternal I will not call you an ocean

Because inside there is an amazing world But the waves are always violent.

I will not call you a sunset Because it is only there a second And then it leaves you in darkness

What I will call you Is a friend,

For you're a rose that never fades

A tranquil ocean,

An everlasting sunset You Are a friend."

I salute an d c ongratulate you, the

members of the graduating class of

1996. In the few months that I have been your director , I have observed an unparal leled quality of love and concern for others. The "celebration of life" you organized to both celebrate and mourn the deaths of your classmates at the beginning of the school year is a memory I shall never forget. You all leave Colegio Maya with a solid academic foundation and a quality o ften missing in high school graduates, which is an appreciation and love of cultures and languages different from your own - a true sign of an educated person. You are wise beyond your years. Your class has carried Colegio Maya to a new level and we, the administration, teachers, and staff appreciate the example you have set for the rest of our students. I wish you well as you head off to face the challenges of

COMING OF AGE

Performed by the only people who could.

Loosing the pu berty b lues.

The Middle School musical sparkled with all the

joy and humor, tragedy and crisis of being a
