is our countrys own Green Building Rating System launched in late 2010 by the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC) is a measurement tool for building performance with defined parameters and criteria for sustainable building construction and maintenance practices in addition to being an environmental tool, it may also serve as catalyst for the improvement of the workplace environment in local buildings through compliance with its parameters / criteria under the Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ) Category

aims to ensure the acoustic performance of the building meets the appropriate standards for its purpose considers Indoor ambient noise levels in unoccupied staff/office areas currently suspended as per BD-COR-2011-0001 EQ-PT-3 will neither be treated as a voluntary point nor as a requirement for projects pursuing BERDE Certification for the duration of the implementation of BERDE for New Construction v.1.0 and BERDE for Existing Buildings v.1.0

EQ-RQ-4 OCCUPANT COMFORT SURVEY / POST OCCUPANCY EVALUATION (EB)
aims to assess the building occupants feedback -- thermal comfort, acoustics, indoor air quality, lighting, building cleanliness, and other comfort issues conduct an occupant comfort survey to collect anonymous responses about thermal comfort acoustics, IAQ, lighting levels, building cleanliness and other occupant comfort issue to: derive proper actions to address comfort issues identified through the surveys have in place an anonymous complaint and response system to monitor feedback in the future

aims to set guidelines for the development of a green cleaning policy that exhibits less environmental impact compared to standard practice beneficial environment plans covering the following:
Use of cleaning products -- soap, disinfectants, disposable janitorial products that are environmentally preferred for meeting sustainability standards Use of proper storage, dilution, handling, application and disposal of cleaning products Use of proper personal protective equipment as needed Proper staffing and training of personnel Feedback system for building occupants

aims to encourage and recognize designs which connect the building occupants with the outdoor environment and which provide good levels of daylight for building users criteria are as follows: 75% of interior spaces have access to outdoor view. OR 50% of interior spaces have access to daylighting.

aims to allow occupants to control glare in occupied areas by avoiding contrasts on ceiling, wall and floor surfaces, and the provision of adequate means of control relative to the glare source criteria are as follows: Compliance of surfaces with the corresponding reflectance values OR occupant-controlled shading system on all windows, glazed doors and roof in all relevant building areas

EQ-PT-4 THERMAL CONTROL (NC/EB)
aims to acknowledge the provision of user controls which allow independent adjustment of cooling systems within the building criteria are as follows: Cooling system is designed to allow occupant control of zoned areas within all occupied spaces in the building. The zoning allows separate occupant control (within the occupied space) of each area including perimeter spaces (e.g., having direct access to solar heat gain), central zone (e.g., having no direct access to solar heat gain) and other immediate spaces (such as corridors, etc.)

aims to reduce the health risk due to poor indoor air quality Criteria are as follows: Minimum compliance of ASHRAE 62.1-2004 Air intakes are 20m beyond sources of external pollution sources Intake and exhaust of building HVAC System is beyond 10m apart Naturally ventilated areas are beyond 10m of external pollution sources No Smoking Policy in Buildings -- 10m from entrances and 20m from air intakes

EQ-PT-6 MICROBIAL CONTAMINATION PREVENTION (NC/EB)
aims to reduce the risk of disease caused by growth of microbes in building services equipment during operation and prevent outdoor pollutant and chemical sources from contaminating the buildings indoor environment by trapping dust, dirt, and other pollutants Criteria are as follows: All water systems in the building are designed in compliance with the measures to prevent the Legionnaires disease All duct systems in the building are designed in compliance to avoid microbial growth in the duct system Provision of entryway mats at all public entrances
