Collect sheet to see if students did learn the material.

5. CLOSURE: By the end of class, the students will write a summary about what new information they learned today and what were their first thoughts on citizenship. F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? I will measure my students learning by supervising their work and by checking how they complete as well as answer their class work assignments. When students are called on, I will evaluate on how well they answer and if they use information that they recently learned. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I will check their journals and their summary; this will inform me on how well they grasped the content. I will also grade their worksheet by how well they answer the question. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? The easiest would be the vocabulary words because the students will be able to see definitions, but more importantly images that represent them. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? The most challenging would be finding information about the governors and why theyre an important part of Nevada; I want my students to understand what Ill be reading/showing them. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? This lesson will be followed up by another lesson that will have students research information about Nevada. They will learn about the state song, states symbols, governors, and much more. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? If some of my students are showing difficulties on grasping the content, I will gather those students and talk to them about what they know and where they got lost. This will let me know on what I need to work on and what changes I have to do to ease their learning. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change?

I think I would have to add pictures to the PowerPoint because the students might get bored by looking at a slide filled with words. I would probably change the vocabulary into a more hands-on activity. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The most difficult part was the starting of the lesson. I wasnt sure if I had to start the lesson packed with information about Nevada or start off with simple vocabulary words and background knowledge. The hardest part, I would say, was understanding the standard; I wasnt sure what I was supposed to teach.
