Deluxe Sleeping Car Each newly reconstructed Deluxe sleeping car has just five spacious yet intimate en suite compartments offering every convenience and comfort so you may sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as it rolls by. Private bathrooms feature a shower with constant hot water, washbasin and WC. There is a heated towel rail, shaver socket (230v/110v) and a hairdryer. Fresh white towels and some toiletries are also provided. Lounge Car The Lounge comes alive as people meet for pre-dinner drinks and reflect on their experiences of the day and make plans for the next. Later, after dinner, guests retire to the Lounge to enjoy the convivial mood, enhanced with music from our resident pianist. Soft drinks, house wine and beer, tea and coffee are continuously served.

Itinerary for Istanbul to Prague

A 10-day journey combining the Transylvanian West from Istanbul and the Central European with 3 nights in Budapest.

DAYS 1-4 Istanbul to Budapest

Late afternoon departure from Istanbul travelling overnight into Bulgaria to visit Kazanlak and Veliko Turnovo. Day 3 in Transylvania with guided tours of Bran Castle and Sighisoara. On the nal day there is a spectacular horse show before arrival in Budapest.

DAYS 5 & 6 Budapest

Two days at leisure in Budapest to explore and discover both halves of the city Buda and Pest and perhaps the opportunity for a cruise on the Danube.

Restaurant Car DAYS 7-10 Budapest to Prague One of the highlights of a journey on the Danube Express is the experience, ever rarer in todays world, of dining well on a train in good company. Breakfasts are cooked to order delicious bacon and eggs or a selection of omelettes. A lighter selection includes a cold meat platter or fresh fruit and of course, juice, cereals, are also available, along with tea and coffee. Appetizing lunches and dinners are set, accompanied by your choice of house wine, beer or soft drinks. Water, tea and coffee are also provided. In addition, premium wines, champagne and alcoholic drinks are available to purchase.
Mid-morning departure from Budapest to Keszthely on the shores of Lake Balaton then overnight to Vienna and Bratislava. Day 9 in Poland to visit Cracow and the Wieliczka Salt Mines. The journey ends in Prague, city of 100 spires, on the morning of Day 10.
