The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Virginia has been granting wishes since August of 1987. The Greater Virginia chapter territory covers the entire Commonwealth of Virginia except for the counties immediately surrounding Washington, D.C. The Greater Virginia chapter has fulfilled the wishes of over 3,600 children and has built a strong network of over 500 volunteers.
Wishes symbolize the innocence, sincerity and uniqueness that only a child can truly achieve. Wishes have the power to deliver hope, strength and joy. They come in all shapes and sizes. Many children dream of visiting Cinderellas castle, some wish for shopping sprees, several hope for a new computer, while others aspire to swim with the dolphins or meet a celebrity. Whatever their wish, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Virginia does everything possible to ensure that the wish experience is one that the entire family will forever remember and cherish.
