Position MATHEMATICS INSTRUCTOR Full-Time #10-37 SALARY Dependent upon academic background and educational experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Masters degree in mathematics or applied mathematics OR Bachelors in either of the above AND Masters in statistics, physics, or mathematics education OR The equivalent. The equivalent is: A Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and one of the following: 1. A Masters degree, including at least 24 graduate units in the area of Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. 2. Completion of 30 units in a Doctoral program in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, including successful completion of 24 graduate units in the area of Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. OR A valid California Community College Credential authorizing service in the appropriate subject matter AND Demonstrated knowledge of specific discipline; knowledge of instructional needs of community college students AND Ability to relate well with peers and other co-workers; to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to be flexible in a changing environment AND Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. PLEASE NOTE: Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. RESPONSIBILITIES Under general direction: Instruct students in the assigned discipline Develop curricula, instructional methodology, strategies Advise students in both group and individual contacts Assist students in improving time management and learning skills Participate in institutional activities including but not limited to flex and staff development Perform peer reviews as required in the association contract

Participate in other contractually required activities Meet regularly with discipline/division peers Provide support for discipline/division recruitment, research and development Participate on institutional committees and activities Work towards continuous personal growth and development Perform other duties as directed or specified by Board Policy, California Education Code, or Faculty Association contract.
