PRAYER AND PRAISE

Praise the Lord for the fabulous Kindy Manager that He has sent us from BBCC. Carin has many years of experience in both teaching and management roles, and understands our heart for ministry. Please pray that the Lord would empower her for this important role and ministry. Praise the Lord with us for all of the wonderful connections made through our recent Table for 8. Please pray that the Lord would fill the Kindy leadership with wisdom and direction as they seek to lay a strong foundation for this work. Please pray for our friends at Westgate Baptist church as they commence a large scale addition to their facility. Pray that it would be completed on time, under budget, and that many people would come to faith within those walls. Please pray for the Millers, as they cope with ongoing health concerns in every corner of their family. Pray for Gods clear direction for a new church plant in Merignac, a suburb of Bordeaux, France. They desire to purchase a building strategically located to serve as a beachhead for outreach and ministry.

The toilets are located down the passage to the right as you exit the sanctuary. The Preschool ministry begins at the start of the service in the Creche, and 5-13 year olds are dismissed part way through the service for Sunday School. Information on who we are, as well as on all of our ministries are available online at www.whac.net.nz Each week, we share a cuppa together after the service, and would love for you to stay for a chat.

MINISTRIES FOR CHILDREN AT WHAC

Ages 0-2 We have a supervised creche twice a month in the north side of the foyer. Parents are welcome to either drop their kids off, or stay with them. The other two weeks of a month the facilities will be there, but parents will need to supervise their own children. Our Kids Club is divided into two groups, for age appropriate lessons. These take place in the hall during the sermon. A notice will appear on the screen when it is time to dismiss your children.

One way that we are seeking to bless the community through the Kindy is to start a food bank for needy families in the Kindergarten (or known through the centre). To do so, a basket has been placed in the foyer for your donations of nonperishable food. Thank you so much for your support as we seek to make this Kindy a true reflection of the heart of Christ for West Harbour. 40 Days of Community "You were never meant to fulfil God's purposes on your own" Starting the Sunday after Mother's Day (May 19), WHAC will be starting into "40 Days of Community", which is a church wide campaign to deepen our understanding of how God uses other people for our good and growth, in addition to how God can use us to bless other people. Please be praying for this important time in the life of our church! A new directory is coming... The new church contact directories are ready for you to take home. They are available at the Morning Tea table, and please be sure to take the one with your family's name on the back. Hip Hop returns to West Harbour

Matthew 8:26-27 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! Whew! What must the disciples have felt back then as they saw the waves crashing against their boat? They were being swayed from side to side in the deep dark sea. They were afraid for their lives! But our Lord was there all along. He just wanted them to trust. So often we find ourselves in that same boat, dont we? Lord, are you there?! Dont you see these waves about that consume me?! But He does! He sees all, hears all, knows all. He is the same Lord that calmed that storm two thousand years ago and He can cause the winds and the seas, and the trials of our lives to become calm in an instant! Ahh, but its usually in the storms that He will display His awesome power! Let's renew our trust in the Lord today. God has great plans for those who will put their trust in Him.

Starting tonight at 6:00, Hip Hop classes return to West Harbour! This free class is open to all ages, and students are encouraged to bring friends along. A New Creche Facility..... If you have a baby, take a look at the new crche facility information in the Ministries for Children section of the newsletter. We are excited to have Nina take charge of this ministry with all of her gifts and passion for children, and with the support of Natalie Nanjan, we know that it will be a wonderful and safe place for your children!
