We, the students, parents, and stakeholders, are petitioning the L.A.U.S.D.

Board of Education for the removal of Mr. Placencio from the position of Principal of City of Angels School. Listed below are a few reasons for this request: *W.A.S.C. accreditation is coming up in 2014; ours could very well be in jeopardy. Mr. Placencio has made or allowed changes to take place. N.C.A.A. sanctioned athletic programs, the performing arts, award assemblies, and lower grade culminations have all been taken away. These changes appear to give the impression of disregard or disrespect for school traditions. *Sept. 2012, e-mail stating Mr. Placencio received $125,000 towards instructional program to be the best for all C.O.A. students, stakeholders should operate in a collaborative manner or spend the money for a common purpose such as student achievement. There has been a lack of communication with parents, students, and teachers. No School Site Council seated until end of school year, due to improper election procedures. No one knows how this money was spent. *New students have waited for weeks for their enrollment application to be processed; they are losing out on valuable instructional time, possibility of breaking the law not being enrolled in school. Sites have been closed with no regard to those students or their families. *First School Site Council held April 11, 2013; purpose is to discuss the schools budget. Mr. Placencio came to the meeting without any budget, when questioned where the budget was, his reply, San Julian Site. He brought a worksheet, as a budget for E.L.A.C. recommendations, misrepresentation of school budget? He knew he had a meeting the following week to present school budget, and shows up at S.S.C. without any budgets.

City of Angels serves all children, along with having a high-risk dropout preventive school population. Our school provides a safe haven for a lot of students and one thing all students need is to have a consistency in their learning experience. Mr. Placencio appears to take pride in announcing that he makes the decisions for our school, comes across as unwilling to work with parents and other members of City of Angels Community. City of Angels students deserve more than they have received and the removal seems to be the only reasonable thing to do. Our children deserve more than they are getting from Mr. Placencio.
