) All questions are compulsory. (ii) The question paper consists of 34 questions divided into four sections A,B,C and D. Section A comprises of 8 questions of 1 mark each, section B comprises of 6 questions of 2 marks each, section C comprises of 10 questions of 3 marks each and section D comprises 10 questions of 4 marks each. (iii) Question numbers 1 to 10 in section-A are multiple choice questions where you are to select one correct option out of the given four. (iv) There is no overall choice. A brooch is made with silver wire in the form of a circle with diameter 35 mm. The wire is also used in making 5 diameters which divide the circle into 10 equal sectors as shown in Fig.. Find : (i) the total length of the silver wire required. (ii) the area of each sector of the brooch. 19. Water is flowing at the rate of 5 km/h through a pipe of diametric 14 cm into a rectangular tank which is 50 m long and 44 m wide, Determine the time in which the level of water in the tank will rise by 7 cm 26. A man standing on the deck of a ship, which is 10m above the water level, observes the angle of elevation of the top of a hill as 600 and the angle of depression of the base of the hill as 300. Calculate the distance of the hill from the ship and the height of the hill.

OR The angle of elevation of a jet fighter from a point A on the ground is 600. After a flight of 15seconds, the angle of elevation changes to 300. If the jet is flying at a speed of 720 km/hour, find the constant height at which the jet is flying. 27. Prove that the angle between two tangents drawn from an external point to a circle is supplementary to the angle subtended by the line segment joining the points of contact at the centre. 28. A person on tour has Rs 360 for his expenses. If he extends his tour for four days, he has to cut down his daily expenses by Rs 3. Find the original duration of the tour. 29. Draw a triangle ABC with side BC = 7cm, B =45 0, A =1050 , then construct a triangle whose sides are 5/3 times the corresponding side of ABC. Prove that the points A(4,3),B(6,4) C(5,-6) and D(3,-7) in that order are the vertices of the parallelogram. A well of diameter 3 m and 14 m deep is dug. Find the volume of water filled in the box. A sum of Rs. 1400 is to be used to give seven cash prizes to students of a school for their overall academic performance. If each prize is Rs. 40 less than the preceding price, find the value of each of the prizes. The slant height of the frustum of a cone is 4 cm and the circumferences of its circular ends are 18 cm and 6 cm. Find curved surface are of the frustum.
