Personalities Renowned By Their Mother Names

There are many personalities in history that are famous by their

mother’s manes (as their mothers were renowned personalities) as
“Kuniat”. These names does not imply that they have no fathers nor
their names can be translated as “abc” son of “their mother’s
names”, because they have their fathers and they should be called
with their father names as is a general rule described in QURAN,
however their “Kuniat” may be of their mother names & this practice
does not violate the rule of QURAN.

(33:5) Name your adopted children after their fathers; that is more
just in the Sight of Allah. And if you do not know who their fathers
were, then they are your brothers, sisters and friends in Faith. (You
shall treat them as family members). There is no blame on you for an
unintentional mistake. What counts is the intention of your hearts, for
Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

Examples of “Kuniat” with Mother Names taken from History & Ahadith
are as:

(1) “Ammar bin Yasir” titled [that is “Kuniat”] as “Ibn

Samia” as his mother Samia served as a maid and Ammar accepted Islam
at an early age.

(2) “Kuniat” is “Ibn Majah” full name is Muhammad bin Yazid.

(3) “Kuniat” is “Ibn Um Maktum” full name is Umar bin Zaida.

1.591 Narrated Salim bin Abdullah Sahih Al-Bukhari

My father said that Allah’s Apostle said, “Bilal pronounces ‘Adhan at
night, so keep on eating and drinking (Suhur) till Ibn Um Maktum
pronounces Adhan.” Salim added, “He was a blind man who would not
pronounce the Adhan unless he was told that the day had dawned.”

(4) “Kuniat” is “ibn Hasana” fill name is “Shurahbil bin

Abdullah”.

1157 Narrated AbuDharr Sahih Al- Muslim

1
Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: You would soon conquer a
land where people are in the habit of using foul language. They have a
right of kinship upon you. And when you see two persons fighting for
the space of a brick, then get out of that. He (AbuDharr) then happened
to pass by Rabi’ah and AbdurRahman, the two sons of Shurahbil ibn
Hasana, and they had been disputing for the space of a brick. So he
left the land.

(5) “Kuniat” is “Ibn Um ‘Abd” fill name is “Abdullah bin

Mas’ud”.

5.106 Narrated Abdur Rahman bin Yazid Sahih Al-Bukhari

We asked Hudhaifa to tell us of a person resembling (to some extent)
the Prophet in good appearance and straightforward behavior so that we
may learn from him (good manners and acceptable conduct). Hudhaifa
replied, “I do not know anybody resembling the Prophet (to some extent)
in appearance and conduct more than Ibn Um ‘Abd.” (i.e. ‘Abdullah bin
Mas’ud)

Also see: 5.105 Narrated Alqama Sahih Al-Bukhari

(6) Al-Hajjaj bin Aiman bin Um Aiman

Aiman Ibn Um Aiman
Al-Hajjaj bin Aiman
Al-Hajjaj bin Um Aiman
Um Aiman was one of the nurses of the Prophet.

5.81 Narrated Usama bin Zaid

That the Prophet used to take him (i.e. Usama) and Al-Hassan (in his
lap) and say: “O Allah! Love them, as I love them.” The freed slave of
Usama bin Zaid said, “Al-Hajjaj bin Aiman bin Um Aiman and Aiman Ibn Um
Aiman was Usama’s brother from the maternal side, and he was one of the
Ansar. He was seen by Ibn ‘Umar not performing his bowing and
prostrations in a perfect manner. So Ibn ‘Umar told him to repeat his
prayer. Harmala, the freed slave of Usama bin Zaid said that while he
was in the company of ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar, Al-Hajjaj bin Aiman came in
and (while praying) he did not perform his bowing and prostrations
properly. So Ibn ‘Umar told him to repeat his prayer. When he went
away, Ibn ‘Umar asked me, “Who is he?” I said, “Al-Hajjaj bin Um
Aiman.” Ibn ‘Umar said, “If Allah’s Apostle saw him, he would have
loved him.” Then Ibn ‘Umar mentioned the love of the Prophet for the
children of Um Aiman. Sulaiman said that Um Aiman was one of the nurses
of the Prophet.

(7) Hadith No. 20.97 Al-Muwatta contains a name as “Muhammad ibn

Abdullah ibn Abi Maryam”

(8) Hadith No. 3.51 Al-Muwatta contains a name as “Muslim ibn Abi
Maryam”

2
All these Famous Personalities have their fathers.

What is way QURAN uses as: (4:171) [”Maseh Isa Ibn Maryam”] Instead
of [”Maseh Isa Bin Maryam”] No where in QURAN not to violate
itself!

Here in (4:171) “Al- Maseh Isa Ibn Maryam Rasol ‘Allaah”, the
breakup is as:
(1) “Al- Maseh” is Laqab,
(2) “Isa” is Name,
(3) “Ibn Maryam” is Kuniat,
(4) “Rasol ‘Allaah” means prophet of Allah.
(5) “wa- kalimah -hu alqaa -haa ‘ilaa maryam wa- roh. min -hu”
means the fulfillment of His Word to Mary, created according to the
Laws of Creation and given free will from the Divine Energy (like all
human beings (15:29), (32:7-9), (38:72)).

The word “Ibn” is used 28 times in QURAN, except 4 times that is

(7:150), (9:30), (40:36), (66:11) & it is used for Isa as “Isa Ibn
Maryam” or as “Ibn Maryam” 24 times. But the word “Bin” is
not used in QURAN.

In (7:150) “Ibn Um” is used for Prophet Moses, does it implies

virgin birth? Certainly not.

The Second Answer to believers of virgin birth is that as per verse

(33:5) [Name your adopted children after their fathers; that is more
just in the Sight of Allah] it is clear that this verse is related to
adopted children so it cannot be applied to “Maseh Isa Ibn Maryam”
as he was not an adopted son.

It is my challenge that there is not a single Sahih Hadith that

describes the virgin birth of prophet Isa.

Very interesting Rana …
thank you

The Quranic view of the birth of Jesus

“How can I have a son when no man has touched me, nor do I desire such?”

Surah : 19 - Maryam verses 16-21

And relate in the Scripture Mary, when she withdrew herself from her family to a
place which was to the east

She took to a barrier which separated her from them, so We sent Our spirit to her, and
he took on the shape of a human in all similarity.

She said: “I seek refuge with the Almighty from you if you are a person of faith.”

He said: “I am the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.”

She said: “How can I have a son when no man has touched me, nor do I desire such?”

He said: “It is such that your Lord has said, it is easy for Me. And We shall make him
a sign for mankind and a mercy from Us. It is a matter already ordained.”

The one who protected her chastity

And the one who protected her chastity, so We blew into her from Our Spirit, and We
made her and her son a sign for the worlds. 21:91

Also Mary, the daughter of Imran, who maintained her chastity. So We blew into her
from Our spirit, and she believed in the words of her Lord and His Scriptures; and she
was of those who were obedient. 66:12

The birth of Jesus and Adam

4
Jesus

So We sent Our spirit to her. 19:17
So We blew into her from Our spirit 21:91,66:12

Adam

“So when I perfect him, and blow of My spirit in him, you shall submit to him.”
15:29,38:72

ُ ْ‫ ) َو َنفَخ‬and blow of My spirit in him

The Quran likens the creation of Jesus to of Adam. Interestingly, the frequencies of
both names are also equal: each occurs 25 times in the Quran.

ّ ِ‫إ‬

The example of Jesus with God is similar to that of Adam; He created him from dust,
then He said to him “Be” and he was. 3:59

So Jesus had no father, his mother maintained her chastity and the spirit ( ِ‫ ) رّوح‬played
an intermediate role

please read What is Rooh ?

thats why he was named “Ibn Maryam” The son of Mary, confirming his virgin birth
unlike anyone who must have a father (known or Unkown)

Name them by retaining their father’s name. That is more just with God. But if you do
not know their fathers, then, as your brothers in the system and members of your
family. There is no sin upon you if you make a mistake in this respect; but you will be
responsible for what your hearts deliberately intend. God is Forgiver, Merciful. 33:5

The Name Structure of Messiah Jesus, son of Mary.

Traditionally real children are named after their father’s name; even it is ordered
(33:5) that “Name your adopted children after their fathers”.

33:5 Name your adopted children after their fathers; that is more just in the Sight of
Allah. And if you do not know who their fathers were, then they are your brothers,
sisters and friends in Faith. (You shall treat them as family members). There is no
blame on you for an unintentional mistake. What counts is the intention of your
hearts, for Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

How is it possible to name Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, after his mother?s name?

One traditional answer to this question is that father was not present, i.e., virgin birth.

But it is not correct.

Correct answer is that “Ibn Mary” is used as ?Kuniat?, not for “son of Mary”, in the
following verses.

3:45 Angels said, ?O Mary! Allah gives you the good news through a word from Him.
His name would be Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, held in honor in this world and
among the ones close to Me in the Hereafter.

4:157 And for claiming, ?We killed the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Allah?s
Messenger.? They never killed him and never crucified him. But it appeared so to
them and the matter remained dubious to them. Those who hold conflicting views on
this issue are indeed confused. They have no real knowledge but they are following
mere conjecture. Very certainly, they never killed him.

4:171 O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion. Say nothing
about God except the truth. The Messiah Jesus son of Mary was a Messenger of
Allah, the fulfillment of His Word to Mary, created according to the Laws of Creation
and given free will from the Divine Energy (like all human beings 15:29, 32:7-9,
38:72). Believe in Allah and His Messengers, and say not: ?Three”. Cease! It is for
your own good. God is but One God. Far removed it is from His Supreme Majesty
that He should have a son. Everything in the Highs and everything in the Lows
belongs to Him. He is the Self-Sufficient Sustainer of the Universe (2:255).

Translate Messiah Jesus, son of Mary as Messiah Jesus, Ibn Mary

So it is better to call & translate Messiah Jesus, Ibn Mary instead of Messiah Jesus,
son of Mary.

Dear Arnold Yasin Mol

AA!

As you write in response to my post that, ?I suggest Uncle that you should translate
the word in both ways, one keeping in mind with the bigger picture of the Quran’s
Message, the other meaning keeping in mind how this verse gives extra proof against
the virgin birth.

So it would look like this:

6:87 And We gave distinction to some of their ancestors, fathers, children, siblings
and brothers and guided them to the Straight Path.

This verse would be only a small part inside the explanation of the proof that Jesus
was born naturally?.

I highly appreciate your modification above as suggested by me.

But in my opinion this verse contributes & provides largest & biggest proof inside the
explanation of the fact that Jesus was born naturally for traditional mind N2I?, I am
not one of them.

Thanks!

The Prophet Jesus Had Wife and Children

13:38 And verily We sent Messengers before you, and We appointed for them wives
and children as well. (They all were mortal human beings and they conveyed Allah’s
Revelation as commanded). It was not given to any Messenger that he could bring a
Sign (the requital they hastened for), but it came according to Allah?s Law of Respite.
For every rise and for every fall, there is a Written Law. (7:34).

[Shakir 13:38] And certainly We sent messengers before you and gave them wives
and children, and it is not in (the power of) an messenger to bring a sign except by
Allah’s permission; for every term there is an appointment.

The verse 13:38 declares that all the messengers had wives and children. So Jesus was
also married.

i don’t know why the one who protected her chastity is not a proof for a virgin birth.

also, why did she go to a far place to deliver him (jesus) ?

So she was pregnant with him, and she went to deliver in a far place. 19:22

Then the birth pains came to her, by the trunk of a palm tree. She said: “I wish I had
died before this, and became totally forgotten!” 19:23

why was Jesus something totally unexpected ?

Then she came to her people carrying him. They said: “O Mary, you have come with
something totally unexpected!” 19:27

“O sister of Aaron, your father was not a bad man, and your mother was never
unchaste!” 19:28

Her people thought that she made a mistake but she to Jesus who is a child in a cradle

So she pointed to him. They said: “How can we talk to someone who is a child in a
cradle?” 19:29

Jesus who is a child in a cradle spoke to her people as a sign that she did not give a
normal birth and she did nothing wrong

He said: “I am God’s servant, He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.”

i don’t see the problem with a virgin birth

Surah 19. Maryam – Mary, Page: 346

[Author’s Note] This is the 19th Surah of the Qur’an. It has 98 verses.
One of the important injunctions that clearly come through in this Surah is that God
makes laws as He wills in the World of command and enforces them in the World of
Creation i.e. the Universe. Then, He never changes them. The grand empire of human
learning, development, invention, science and technology would have failed to come
off ground if God’s physical laws in the Universe were to keep changing.
Pregnancy, and childbirth require the unison of the male and the female
chromosomes. God never changes His laws, therefore, the idea of a virgin birth,
although popular among the Christians and the Muslims, is non-Qur’anic and
absolutely erroneous. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is probably more often mentioned in
the Qur’an than in the Bible, as a lady of outstanding determination and character.
prophet Zachariah was the elder contemporary of Mary. Both descended from prophet
Aaron. The families had been the custodians of the holy shrines in Can’aan (Palestine)
Zachariah, a distant uncle was Mary’s guardian in the sanctuary. Jesus is referred to as
son of Mary because his mother was more prominent and also because his father
Joseph the carpenter, died at an early age. The Bible also refers to Jesus as son of man
and as son of David, and Elizabeth wife of Zachariah is called the daughter of Aaron.
Also, in the history of mankind Mary was the first revolutionary and that too, a
feminine voice against the institution of monasticism that was never Divinely
ordained.
Before moving on, let us note a few salient points for the sake of clear understanding:
(i) Mary was a descendant of prophet Aaron. Even generations after a prominent man,
it was customary to call the descendants this way. In Luke 1:5 Elizabeth, the wife of
prophet Zachariah, is referred to as “One of the daughters of Aaron”. That is why
Mary is referred to as sister of Aaron in 19:28.
(ii) In verse 19:23 it appears that Mary is talking to her husband. Violation of the
sanctuary rules, a land far from home, lack of shelter and labor pains all add to her
grief. Now a few important concepts given in the Qur’an that strongly negate the
fallacy of the “Virgin Birth” of Jesus.
(iii) God does all things according to His laws. [3:40,19:9].
(iv) And you will never see God’s laws changing or deviating. [6:34, 6:116, 10:64,
17:77, 18:27, 33:38, 33:62, 35:43, 40:85, 48:23].
(v) The example of Jesus, as far as God is concerned, is the same as that of Adam. He
created him from dust; then said to him, “Be”, and he was. [3:59].
(vi) By Adam is meant all mankind. [7:11].
(vii) All men are created from dust, then from a zygote, male and female. [22:5].

11
(viii) The Qur’an emphatically and repeatedly states that all human beings are
procreated from both male and female, without exceptions.
(ix) Even God would not have an offspring since He never had a mate. [6:101].
(x) Verse 19:22 narrates Mary moving far-off from her village.
Since Mary had broken the rules of the shrine, she and her family kept the marriage
with Joseph Carpenter confidential. When she became pregnant, the husband and wife
decided to move far away to avoid the mockery of people.
With the Glorious Name of God, the Instant and Sustaining Source of all mercy and
Kindness.

In verse 19:23 it appears that Mary is talking to her husband. Violation of the
sanctuary rules, a land far from home, lack of shelter and labor pains all add to her
grief. Now a few important concepts given in the Qur’an that strongly negate the
fallacy of the “Virgin Birth” of Jesus.

this is poor understanding of the context of the verse

ْ َ‫ت ن‬

Then the birth pains came to her, by the trunk of a palm tree. She said: “I wish I had
died before this, and became totally forgotten!” 19:23

But then he called to her from beneath her: “Do not be sad, your Lord has made below
you a stream.” 19:24

“And shake the trunk of this palm tree, it will cause ripe dates to fall upon you.” 19:25

“So eat and drink and be happy. If you see any human being, then Say: “I have
declared a fast for the Almighty, and I will not talk today to any of mankind.”" 19:26

she is not talking to her husband, she is talking to God and God is telling her to say “I
have declared a fast for the Almighty, and I will not talk today to any of mankind.”

and 19:20 is a proof that Jesus is not the son of any human being

She said: “How can I have a son when no man has touched me, nor do I desire such?”

“19:19. He said: I am only a messenger of your Lord: That I will give you a pure boy.

19:20. She said: When shall I have a boy and no mortal has yet touched me, nor have
I been unchaste?

19:21. He said: Even so; your Lord says: It is easy to Me: and that We may make him
a sign to men and a mercy from Us, and it is a matter which has been decreed.

19:22. So she conceived him; then withdrew herself with him to a remote place.

19:23. And the throes compelled her to betake herself to the trunk of a palm tree. She
said: Oh, would that I had died before this, and had been a thing quite forgotten!

19:24. Then called out to her from beneath her: Grieve not, surely your Lord has
made a stream to flow beneath you;

19:25. And shake towards you the trunk of the palmtree, it will drop on you fresh ripe
dates:

19:26. So eat and drink and refresh the eye. Then if you see any mortal, say: Surely I
have vowed a fast to the Beneficent Allah, so I shall not speak to any man today. ”

I am not sure who is talking with Mary in these ayaths. In 19:19 conversation is
started by a messenger at the time she is informed that she is going to give a birth, but
it is not definite who is talking to Mary from 19:24 at the time of delivery. He/she can
be Allah, angel or even Jesus.

” All men are created from dust, then from a zygote, male and female. [22:5].” Yes,
they are, however, it is sure that Allah (or angels with Allah’s order and permission)
has the power to place the male gamete into a female’s uterus without she is having
intercourse with a man.

But, this does not make Allah anybody’s father. Let’s think about this way: Can a
sculptor be considered as the natural father/mother of his/her sculptures? No. Since
sculpture and sculptor are created from different material, naturally, they cannot be
related as father and child. How ridiculous would it be to assume the SCULPTOR is
made by the same material as SCULPTURE are made like bronze, stone, marble,
limestone, porphyry, or granite!

In Jesus’ example it is even more obvious: Can Creator be the father of a creature?!

Hope my ideas works,

Peace

It is a messenger (Archangel Gabriel-Angel Gibril) from 19:17 to 19:23 when Mary is

being informed what it is going to happen, but, I cannot be sure who is talking
beginning from 19:23 at the birth. What do you think?

I think that it was the Holy Spirit, and Mary was alone.
