1.1 Mr Sin, as the chairman of the meeting welcomed all the EL teachers for their attendance in the meeting and as the chairperson, he hoped that the outcomes of the discussion for the issues arisen will be carried out as planned. 1.2 The Head of the Language Department (HOD) wished Merry Christmas to all teachers and welcomed the teachers. 1.3 Instruction from the GPK 1 & Principal: a) b) c) d) e) Submit record books next week Monday. Make sure teachers record books are complete with dates, signatures, students name and marks. HOD congratulated to all ELT teacher for the excellent file management of PLBS for the year 2012. MBMMBI - A meeting will be fixed later - all the teachers should cooperate to carry out the activities planned Planned Leaves- teachers are asked to make mutual exchange with other teachers or prepare material for students to do during their absence. Action: All ELTs 2.0 Minutes of Previous Meeting 2.1 The copy of the minutes of the previous meeting held on 11th November 2012 were distributed to all the panel members. 2.2 All the issues and feedbacks were gone through one by one without any objection. 2.3 One of the panel members, Mdm Chua suggested the approval for the minutes as a correct record and it was then seconded by Mdm Ngim. Action: Informed 3.0 The Election of the 2013 English Panel Commitee 3.1 (Refer to the Appendix 1) 3.2 The election was made with votes of majority. 3.3 EL Advisors Duty: 3.3.1 To ensure that ALL the questions made for any test or examination paper fulfill the requirements of the syllabus for each year. 3.3.2 To ensure sufficient answering sheets or papers provided for the tests or examination papers. 3.3.3 To collect the sample question papers for every test carried out for each learning year (Mac ; May ; August ; October). Current Matters 4.1 Post Mortem on the 2012 UPSR English Language result 4.1.1 Number of candidates : 86 Number of As : 17 (19.8%) Number of Bs : 19 (22.1%) Number of Cs : 10 (11.6%) 55 (53.5%) (Refer to the Appendix 2) 4.2 The overall English Language result of UPSR 2013 had fallen -22.9% from the previous year percentage of 76.4. The main factor for the decrease was the number of candidates with poor results (Cs and Ds) had increased. It had led to the poor result in English Language for 2012 which is 53.5%. The outcomes from the discussion with the teachers concerned had been identified and still, it showed that for the candidates with fairly good results (Bs and Cs), they were relatively weak in answering English Paper 2. Here are some of the identified potential reasons why they didnt stand out. 4.2.1 Sentence construction technique (Note Expansion) - SVA 4.2.2 Grammar command (Common grammatical mistakes are visibly in the compound sentences) 4.2.3 Overall pupils were still weak in learning or using the new vocabulary 4.2.4 Some candidates were facing the issue of pre-exam emotional tension which led to the prone of making mistakes 4.2.5 4.3 Strategic Planning of the Panel Mr Tee, as the Head of English Panel revised the items listed in the planning. The planning is made through the previous discussion with the HM and GPK 1. All the panel members are expected to give their fully supports in this strategic planning. 4.4 Headcount All EL teachers are asked to complete their class headcount analysis before 30th of December 2011 and submit 1 (one) copy of the analysis for the panel and GPK 1 respectively.

4.8 Yearly Activities (Refer to the Appendix 3) The activities are scheduled to be held according to the date specified. Any amendments on the date should be made a month in advance. 5.0 Teachers Guidelines Lesson Planning Record 5.1 The chairman advised all the EL teachers to use the standardized format for the writing of the lesson planning records. 5.2 The chairman also stressed on the introduction of KSSR Year 1 (2011) and Year 2 (2012) English Language syllabuses, of which, the new format of writing the lesson planning records to be followed. 5.3 Sample writing of a lesson plan record

Impact: 34 out of 36 pupils in the class were able to master the skills. 2 pupils named ________________; ________________ need extra guidance in ________________. Reflection: The lesson carried out was successful and the class management was fairly good. Still need to improve in the voice projection and learning activities.
