Permadur Series 612 Vacuum Lifting System Reassembly Instructions

The System will be loaded onto the truck in three parts (plus a box with small parts): These three parts consist of the Main beam with the Power Pac and control interface in the center of the beam and two stands with three each Crossarms. To assist in placing the Crossarms back onto the System we have provided an arrow on the load beam to designate our recommended locations. The following are some pictures of the Crossarms as they were originally placed on the System.

After the crossarms are put in place, the Vacuum Hose from the Slide Valve needs to be pushed onto the distribution manifold at the top of each crossarm. Note that the valve is Open (VAC ON) when the outer cylinder is slid towards the hose.

After the Crossarms are reattached, the next step is to check the wiring. Per the attached Electrical Drawing, the only wiring required is associated with the Cable Reel Drop to provide the 460 VAC Power Supply and the Control Interface. Locate the 16 Pin Female Quick Disconnect shown below and complete the wiring per the attached drawing. Next, check to insure that the 6 Pin Quick Disconnect for the Pendant Lead is in place along with the Power Supply lead and the 10 Pin Quick Disconnect from the Control Interface to the 3000 Power Pac.

After all wiring associated with the 16 Pin Quick Disconnect has been confirmed to be according to the attached wiring diagram and the Operator has read the INSTRUCTION MANUAL, proceed to operate the unit: 1) Select Local (pendant on System) or Remote (ON/OFF/OFF Controls on Crane) operation 2) Select AUTO (Vacuum System Interlocked with Crane Power to insure that if System is carrying a load the Crane E-Stop will NOT drop out power to the Vacuum System) or ON (Vacuum System Power will drop out with E-Stop). AUTO Operation is recommended. 3) confirm that the red lights are illuminated. 4) Check all Crossarm Slide Valves and set all to VAC ON if Crossarm pads are to be used in Lift. Permadur recommends all pads be used if possible. 5) Position the System so that it is centered on the load and so the Pads are securely on the Jacket to be handled 6) Depress the ON button on the Local or Remote Pendant depending on selection in step #1. 7) Wait until the Green Lights illuminate confirming that the Vacuum System has reached the desired vacuum holding force prior to lifting the load/Jacket 8) When the Jacket has been moved to the desired location and its weight is again supported, depress both OFF buttons simultaneously to remove the vacuum Lifter from the load (Red Light Illuminated)
