PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Sr. Manager, THOMSON REUTERS (Financial & Risk), Los Gatos, CA [Aug 09 Dec 12] I held a pivotal responsibility in evaluating a highly customizable Financial Search Engine catering to High Frequency Trading in global financial markets (with expertise in storage/retrieval, modeling and analysis of large datasets) in a very fast-paced environment. Implemented and analyzed Big Data (upwards of 100 GBytes/day) storage/retrieval in High Speed Trade Analytics on Real Time Streaming and Historical Financial data. Hands-on supervision of teams responsible for the quality of solutions ensuring data scalability at zero-tick loss and ultra low latency for over 100 high profile customers. Coordinated with development/marketing/sales to identify insights into customer usage patterns/opportunities and drive product/solution strategy. These exercises proved vital in delivering projects on schedule by helping avoid downstream pitfalls and gaps. Conducted periodic technical discussions with external parties to facilitate successful third party software integration into the Thomson Reuters Enterprise Solution. This helped us immensely in facilitating smooth integration despite the considerable complexity of the software. Supervised cross-functional teams spread globally hiring, mentoring junior members and identifying creative resource optimizations to meet aggressive deadlines. This required strong organizational, multi-tasking and conflict resolution skills. My pro-active involvement contributed to significant savings for the business. Standardized knowledge repositories, reports and dashboards for executives, which were widely followed by peers. Designed analytical frameworks to break down complex technical problems into simpler issues. This ensured efficient training for junior members of the team.

Manager, VHAYU TECHNOLOGIES, Los Gatos, CA [May 05 Aug 09] (start-up acquired by Thomson Reuters in Aug 2009) I played a critical role in meeting an aggressive revenue growth of 2x YOY in the start-up phase of the company. Our team successfully led Vhayu to a strategic acquisition by Thomson Reuters and I was retained (postacquisition) to facilitate the key integration of our technology into their next generation business product.

Analyzed customer usage patterns in the high frequency (~50K transactions/sec) trading world and converted them into product enhancements with rapid turnaround cycles of 3-4 weeks. Designed and implemented automation schemes that cut down product testing cycles by over 80%. Collated technical knowledge into white papers (critical for maintaining competitive edge in a start-up business).

Lead Technical R&D Engineer, NORTEL NETWORKS, Santa Clara, CA [Aug 99 May 05] I held a key role in planning projects, managing resources and solving problems creatively in a dynamic environment in order to ensure the quality of enterprise level software used by over 100 customers for mission critical projects, with revenue ranging between $100 million and $200 million. Directed teams of 10-15 individuals on projects involving innovative product designs and next generation Platforms, and automation initiatives that decreased operational costs by nearly 90%. Drove Process Optimization Task Forces for improving process efficiency through Leadership and R&D Academies. Ran very successful beta and pilot programs with early-stage products to validate commercial opportunities. Presented product demonstrations to customers and provided executive level dashboards for senior business executives on a regular basis.

Graduate Research Assistant, UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, Los Angeles, CA [Mar 92 Jul 99] My research focused on computational and mathematical analysis in fluid mechanics and crystal growth.
