Job Description

Position Title: Reports to: Department: Date Revised: FLSA Status: Summary: This individual is responsible for the front-line supervision of the packaging, labeling and shipping staff. This encompasses the packaging, labeling, shipping & receiving activities and personnel. In addition, this individual is responsible for cooler management and compliance with all requirements of the USDA as they relate to inventory and labeling activities. Also, this individual is responsible for compliance with shipping regulations as they relate to hazardous materials. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Coordinate the labeling, packing and shipping of incoming customer orders. Includes initiation of label requests, scheduling staff, and ensuring that the appropriate shipping documents and pickup schedules are organized. Overall, preparing shipments efficiently and accurately to meet customer demand. 2. Maintain warehouse inventory of packaging and shipping supplies. This includes issuing packaging and shipping supplies as requested through the computer system. Conduct cycle counts of supplies to ensure inventory accuracy. 3. Manage the finished goods inventory as well as all supplies used with the Distribution department. 4. Oversee the receiving function for the facility. 5. Front-line supervision and management of packaging, labeling and shipping staff. 6. Ensure the Distribution department receives all required training and is compliant with local, state and federal regulations. 7. Ensure compliance with all state and federal shipping requirements. 8. Participate in and/or coordinate any audits, either internal or external. 9. Ensures the availability and use of comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering all aspects of the departments operation; reviews, revises and writes new SOPs as necessary in accordance with procedure. 10. Organize and participate in end-of-year inventory and periodic cycle counting processes. 11. Other duties as assigned. Core Competencies: 1. 2. Qualifications: The incumbent must have a minimum of a high school diploma, two (2) years supervisory experience, and two (2) years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment. Must be familiar with the operation of powered industrial trucks as well as proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Must be flexible, and possess demonstrated written and oral communications skills. Must have above average organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Attention to detail and the ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines required. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams; able to foster cooperation in others. The incumbent is expected to communicate and perform professionally at all times. Experience in change management and developing others is a plus. Occasional travel may be required.
