LIFE Sherlock Holmes, the fictional character created in 1887 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is a "consulting detective" in London in the late nineteenth century, noted for his intelligence and skillful use of observation and deductive reasoning to solve difficult cases. He stars in a series of four novels and 56 works of fiction, mostly published by The Strand Magazine. Sherlock Holmes was born on January 6, 1854. His father was an English landowner and his mother descended from a line of French painters. He has a brother, Mycroft, who works almost anonymously as general coordinator and internal affairs reporter from the British government. Sherlock Holmes seems to have been a student in college, probably that of Oxford. After graduation, staying near the British Museum to study the sciences necessary for the development of his later career. Meet Watson in 1881, at the Saint Bartholomew. His great enemy, also of extraordinary intellectual powers, is Professor Moriarty, who apparently came to end the life of eminent detective in the cascade of Reichenbach, Switzerland (The Adventure of the Final Problem). Doyle had to choose to resurrect his hero when thousands of readers protested wearing black ribbons on their hats as a sign of mourning. Sherlock Holmes returns in the case The Empty House (The return of Sherlock Holmes, 1903). After a career of 23 years, of which 17 with the shared Watson, Holmes retired to Sussex, where he focused on beekeeping, and even wrote a book entitled Manual of beekeeping. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE He began his career as a detective at age 24, in 1878, but still not working with Watson Was later, in 1882 he began working with Dr. Watson. In this eleven years: Between 1878 and 1889 investigated 500 cases of paramount importance. Until 1891 he devoted himself to exposing the criminal organization of Professor James Moriarty which was much admired by his followers. Flanders (6 volumes) in honor of the British bravery because he was a very patriotic person. WRITER The writer Arthur Conan Doyle was born in Edinburgh in 1859. Enter to college to study medicine, career ended in 1881. Finished his career, he practiced medicine from 1882 to 1890 in Portsmouth and began writing, creating the famous character of Sherlock Holmes and his assistant, Dr. Watson, initiating a series of works that would last until the end of his life. His first highlight was "A Study in Scarlet", where the author creates the most famous fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes, published in 1887. The author was based on a teacher he met at the university to create the character of Holmes with his ingenious deductive reasoning skills. He died on July 7, 1930 in Crowborough. WORK Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle began writing for fun because he had two careers the literary career and the medical career. In total wrote 68 stories in which Sherlock Holmes appears but he also wrote other novels as Teacher Challenger. The first two novels were Sherlock Holmes a study in scarlet (1887) and the sign of four (1890). The character of Sherlock Holmes is known for its ingenious deductive reasoning akills and he is also known for its enrgy and nervous. He is accompanied by two characters, Dr. Watson and his eternal enemy Professor Moriarty . He tried of the series and tried to kill Sherlock at the hands of arch criminal Professor Moriarty because Conan Doyle wanted to write other type of novels but did not success. But in the end Conan Doyle revives Sherlock and continuous the series.
