HIT-HY 70 injection mortar for Masonry

Minimum edge distance and spacing: Tension loads: Shear loads: cmin = 10 cm; cmin = 10 cm; smin = 10 cm smin = 10 cm

In case of shear loads towards a free edge: cmin = 20 cm A distance from the edge of a broken brick of cmin = 20 cm is recommended, e.g. around window or door frames.

Influence of joints: If the joints of the masonry are not visible the recommended load Nrec has to be reduced with the factor j = 0.75. If the joints of the masonry are visible (e.g. unplastered wall) following has to be taken into account: The recommended load Nrec may be used only, if the wall is designed such that the joints are to be filled with mortar. If the wall is designed such that the joints are not to be filled with mortar then the recommended load Nrec may be used only, if the minimum edge distance cmin to the vertical joints is observed. If this minimum edge distance cmin can not be observed then the recommended load Nrec has to be reduced with the factor j = 0.75.

The decisive resistance to tension loads is the lower value of Nrec (brick breakout, pull out) and Nmax,pb (pull out of one brick). Pull out of one brick: The allowable load of an anchor or a group of anchors in case of pull out of one brick, Nmax,pb [kN], is given in the following tables: Clay bricks: Nmax,pb

For all applications outside of the above mentioned base materials and / or setting conditions site tests have to be made for the determination of load values. Due to the wide variety of natural stones site tests have to be made for determine of load values.

Setting operations

In hollow base materials - using 330 ml foil pack

Drill hole either with or without hammering

clean bore hole: 2x blowing + 2x brushing with wire brush + 2x blowing

Fit centring cap to mesh sleeve body

Connect outer mesh sleeve to inner mesh sleeve

Insert sleeves into bore hole

Stick foil pack into foil pack holder

Screw-on mixing nozzle

Insert foil pack holder into dispenser

Discard initial quantity of mortar

For sleeve combinations: Stick mixer tip through bottom of outer sleeve; fill sleeve with mortar

Set mixer tip at centring cap; fill outer mesh sleeve with mortar until mortar escapes at centring cap (filling control)

HIT-S metal sleeve: Insert mixer tip to bottom of sleeve; fill sleeve with mortar; Retract mixing nozzle approx. 10 mm after each stroke
