Helping Construction

Companies Succeed
Since 1885

Membership Information
Welcome to CAM

Founded in 1885 as the Builders Exchange of Detroit and Michigan, the

Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) is the oldest and largest
construction association in North America. Based in Bloomfield Hills, CAM
is a not-for-profit organization supported by annual dues and service fees.
CAM is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors, which is elected
annually by over 3,400 member companies. CAM’s membership is
comprised of general contractors; specialty/sub-contractors; equipment
and material suppliers; and service firms (architects, engineers, attorneys,
financial management, etc.).

In January 2008, CAM acquired the Tri-City Builders Exchange, also

known as TCBX. Based in Saginaw, the TCBX has had a proud history of
providing quality member service for the Mid- and Northern Michigan
construction community since 1955. TCBX has officially become a division
of the Construction Association of Michigan, and its members are receiving
the same member benefits available to all CAM members. The acquisition
of TCBX increased the CAM Membership by over 200 firms and allowed
all CAM Members access to two planroom locations.

Construction Project News
Stay informed with up-to-the-minute reporting on upcoming projects, current bidding
opportunities, project addenda and construction information, delivered right to your
doorstep, office or computer.

CAM publishes two editions of Construction Project News, along with

the Tri-City Construction Bulletin. These provide members with current
information on work that is available for bidding throughout the state of
Michigan. CAM's full-time reporting team annually tracks over 8,500
projects from the design stage to contract award.

Editions include Greater Detroit, Tri-City, and West, North and Central Michigan.

CAM news reports, made available on a subscription basis, are designed to help
the member efficiently track work that meets requirements for their product or
service.

The Construction Pre-View report, issued weekly, provides statewide coverage

of construction projects in the early planning stages. Construction Pre-View informs
subscribers on exactly how and when projects will bid.

The CAM Weekly Leads report is available, via e-mail, to all CAM members.
In it you will find a list of all active projects being reported on by CAM. The report
lists the CAM project ID, location, type of project and planroom location
information, if applicable.

The CAM Online Planroom® allows access to blueprints, plan specs and
construction project information 24/7 via the internet. Electronically share blueprint
information with architects, contractors and field personnel, instantly from any
computer, laptop or PDA with Internet access.

The Private Planroom: CAM has the ability to assist in the

dissemination of construction project bid information. CAM Online’s
Private Planroom can assist in controlling the number of bidders to a
select list of subcontractors and suppliers with the specific credentials
you require and have a proven record of success with your company.

Planrooms
CAM and the TCBX offer the largest selection of bid documents
in the state of Michigan. Drafting tables, computer work stations
with access to CAM Online News and a knowledgeable staff to
assist you in your needs add to convenience and comfort for all
planroom users. Plan duplication and facsimile services are also
available to members. Michigan Construction Lien Act forms
may be purchased there, as well.
