Q/ If you were in the following situations, what would you say? (please try your best to imagine yourself living these situations and answer as spontaneous as possible) 1. Your colleague asks you to help him with his project, as you know a lot about his subject and he doesnt seem to understand it at very well. You have some family issue to deal with and cant help him. You know him very well as you have spent four years together.

2. You see a friend of yours in the crowd and start talking to her. Only then you realize that its not your friend, but a complete stranger.

3. Walking down the street, you see a man holding a cute little nine months old baby. You say: What a cutie! How old is he? he replies angrily: Its a she not a he!

4. You interrupt the conversation with your friend, Sara, who is visiting to answer the telephone.

5. You bump into a man along a busy pavement and knock a parcel down out of his arms.

6. A passenger has agreed to change seats with you so that you can be next to your young sister on the bus. While changing seats you accidentally step on her (i.e. the passengers) toe.

7. In a crowded place, you are walking too close to a friend of yours and you can see that he is not feeling comfortable with it.

8. In a crowded restaurant, you see two empty chairs and quickly start to carry them away, a friend calls out that those are her chairs then you see bags next to the chairs.

9. You have just been transferred to a new college and are asked to write a project with a colleague, Mustafa, whom you dont know well. You decide to meet and discuss the project. You show up 20 minutes late to the meeting.

10. You are a new employee in a company and do not know anyone at the company yet. You asked a colleague to type a few letters for you. She comes to your office with the typed letters. The second she gives them to you, you realize you gave her the wrong wording.

11. You have given bus directions to a friend of yours. The next day, he comes to you saying You know, you gave me the wrong directions for the movie yesterday, by the time we got there we have already missed half the movie.

12. One of your duties at work is to answer the telephone. You ask your colleague, Reem, who is a friend of yours as well, to answer the

telephone for you for a few minutes while you pop out to get some things. Yet, you come back a hour and a half later.

13. While you are describing the way to the bank to a stranger in the street, you mispronounce a word and he seems puzzled.

14. You offend a fellow worker (who has just been transferred to the company and you dont know her well) during a discussion at work. After the meeting, she comments on the incident (i.e. of you insulting her).

15. Your friends and you are sitting together and one of them, Ameer was talking, you are sending a message in your phone. Once you have finished, you start talking to them not paying attention until you were told that Ameer is talking and you interrupt her. he seemed a bit upset with it.

16. You are a radio announcer, you have mispronounced Mrs. Rawaa, your programmes guest who is your friend as well.

17. You are driving in the parking lot. You back into a mans car.

18. Your new neighbour, whom you have just met, has agreed to help you move some things out of your house with her car. Once in her car, you notice how clean and spotless the car is. While turning round a bend a bottle of oil, which was amongst your belongings falls onto the back seat and its contents are spilt all over the seat. You both notice it.

19. In the cafeteria you spill some coffee on Basils book. Basil is your colleague whom you are not familiar with.

20. While spending an afternoon with some friends at a friends house, you accidentally break a small vase belonging to her.

21. You are explaining the direction to Hadi, whom you had just met and you clear your throat.

22. You have just been transferred to a new company in another country. You and a coworker, Linda, are given a project to work on together. As you were explaining your idea of how you believe the project should be, you start hiccupping.

23. You sneeze while talking to your cousin, Salaam.

24. You are talking to your friend, Lara, on the phone you have just had a coughing bout.
